I don't know if this is the right thing to do, and I'm so sorry if not.

catthiefkeith passed away today.

I know there are mumsnetters who know her know how amazing she is, and I just wanted to raise a glass to her memory on here, where she brought a smile to so many faces with her stories of her mad life.

Rest in peace lovely lady.

I've only just heard the news via a thread talking about vaccination. I don't think I ever spoke to CTK directly, but her posts always made me smile. The sort of post you read, grin, then look at the username and aren't surprised. So, so sad. Her poor family. RIP CatThiefKeith.

I've donated. I said may all her tents be comfy ones.

Oh God, what awful news. She was such a fun, witty and humane poster.

I had no idea about adult meningitis being so quick, deadly or hard to spot. I'll definitely be researching it and donating.

Her poor DD. Anything to keep her memory alive for her DD would be a great idea - as long as she can't be outed for the more personal threads. Maybe HQ could do a name change for her and print the funny threads out to be made into a book?

I'm very saddened to hear this. Like most of you, her posts stood out for me and she very quickly became one of my favourite posters.

My condolences to her online and RL friends and family.

Wilf had his meningitis vaccination last, September. He was a year too old but when he was three weeks old we nearly lost him due to unexplained fits and I wasnt taking any chances.

I think HQ should include the one where she bought the ornaments on eBay whilst under the influence. I think this thread should be added to classics too so her dd and dh can read how much CTK amused us and how well liked she was when it's less raw.
Im glad I told her how much I enjoyed her posts. It feels like I've lost a real friend.

When she was considering buying the camper van - and then the boat!

I think it might have been a thread earlier this year (?) when her DH (sorry MrCTK, but she loved you for it anyway) bought her a tandem hang-gliding experience for her birthday! She said she hated heights, but MrCTK had bought the 'experience voucher' because she had once, whimsically, wondered what their house and garden looked like from the air. The lovely thing about CTK was, she wasn't having a whinge about the hang-gliding voucher at all - she was just bemused and wondering what all her MN friends made of it. Of course, it turned into one of her hugely amusing threads. Just great fun - as always.

These amusing, but always kind, threads will be how I remember her. I'm sorry that I only got the chance to meet her once.

We've passed this over to our campaigns team and they're going to have a think about this. We can't make any promises but it's a very good idea and one that will certainly be looked into.
