I don't know if this is the right thing to do, and I'm so sorry if not.

catthiefkeith passed away today.

I know there are mumsnetters who know her know how amazing she is, and I just wanted to raise a glass to her memory on here, where she brought a smile to so many faces with her stories of her mad life.

Rest in peace lovely lady.

Bloody hell, how sad. I loved CTK's posts and the one about her sleeping on a balcony in Tunisia or wherever it was had me in stitches. She was wonderfully bonkers. What a terrible thing to have happened, my condolences to those who knew her IRL. Would anyone mind please PMing me the link to her Just Giving page? I'd like to donate via her page if possible?

That is truly awful news - she seemed like a really lovely warm and funny lady on here. Her family and loved ones and those that loved her are in my thoughts.

GirlInTheDirtyShirt and others who have expressed an interest, I am thinking of setting up a donation page to Meningitis Research Foundation in CTK's name so that everyone can donate and leave a message, without linking to her real life details. The family will be notified so that they can see the condolences and how much CTK meant to MNers. What do people think?

This may be a crap idea but I think this thread should be moved to classics so that it can stay permanently. Where her daughter is older it may be good for her to see how many of us her mum touched and how highly she was thought of.

It doesn't feel right for it to disappear.

CatThiefKeith was somebody I recognised and liked on MN.
She will be missed here and I can only try to imagine the depth of grief of those who knew her.

I posted earlier that my mum was the lucky recipient of one of Keith's legendary Janet and Roy Christmas round robins. She bloody loved it. It was so clever and so witty. I told her today about this awful news today (she's been away) like all of us she's so sorry for Keith's family.

I'm a HCP and have cared for many young people with meningitis. It's horrible. I agree that a MN Just Giving page is a great idea.

Another one agreeing that her threads and this one should be preserved in some way for her family - I'm reporting my own post in a second to flag it up to MNHQ.

I miss her. I can't imagine how awful this is for her family. Someone like Keith passing is going to leave such an enormous hole.

Like you, I cannot imagine what her family must be feeling - and I don't even really know her.
