DS turns 1 this week. Be honest, is this the stuff of nightmares? Will the children at his party be scarred for life?

I am a glad it is a cake hedgehog! I love wildlife and so thought this was about an injured real hedgehog before reading the thread!

Wouldn't stop me from eating every last delicious chocolatey bite, though, OP.

Agree it's the eyes - closer to the nose and brown not white!

Otherwise it looks good - although the flake one above is amazing if you can add some of that too!!

I've put some tin foil over it to stop it's eyes following me round the room. Will take one later for scale.

OP compared to some of the later cake pics yours is an absolute masterpiece. You should actually be really pleased with your effort.

I love looking at bad cakes. The pink sludge hedgehog with scary teeth is one of my all time favourites. I cry tears of joy whenever I see it

You have white eyes.
You need large brown eyes.

Love the eyebrows. If you move them outwards and point them slightly upwards towards the centre of his forehead he'll look friendlier.

I'd crumble a lot of flake on its back, move the eyes closer to the nose and use currents rather than chocolate buttons.
