In the US they can only do 2 terms

TonySopranosVest · 22/03/2016 21:07

They can only serve two terms as president.

topcat2014 · 22/03/2016 21:07

They only get two terms in the USA, and he is on his second.

7Days · 22/03/2016 21:08

You only get two goes

IndridCold · 22/03/2016 21:08

Because there is a limit of two terms.

Palomb · 22/03/2016 21:08

Yy they only get to run two terms and then they're out. Poor America!

Wigeon · 22/03/2016 21:08

Because in America presidents are only allowed to serve for two terms maximum.

nancy75 · 22/03/2016 21:08

He also isn't that popular, but even if the whole country was going to vote for him it wouldn't be allowed

NashvilleQueen · 22/03/2016 21:08

And that's that!

Wigeon · 22/03/2016 21:08

Er, massive cross post!

LineyReborn · 22/03/2016 21:09

Because law

nancy75 · 22/03/2016 21:10

If only all threads were that easily solved Grin

7Days · 22/03/2016 21:10

So apparently the strategy is, term 1, build your support, don't upset too many people. Get elected in term 2, leave your legacy. Call in all your favours and don't care if you become unelectable.

TaintedAngel · 22/03/2016 21:10

What everyone else has said. Massively dissapointing. Trump is a twunt and Hilary Clinton's opinions on things change as often as the wind. America doesn't have a great choice.

DowntonDiva · 22/03/2016 21:15

Before I opened the thread I was thinking "cos he probably wants a flipping break"Grin

I didn't know they could only serve two terms. Every day's a school day!

lostincumbria · 22/03/2016 21:15

I'm confused. George Bush definitely did more two.

Figgygal · 22/03/2016 21:16

Yup as others said two terms in law is all they're allowed to do

zaalitje · 22/03/2016 21:17

Nope George bush snr did 2 then Clinton did 2 then George bush jnr did 2

MrsH1989 · 22/03/2016 21:17

Lost - you can do 2, have a term out and run again. You just cannot do more than 2 consecutive I think.

lostincumbria · 22/03/2016 21:17

And Clinton's trying again too.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:17

There was George Bush.

And george W Bush.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:18

Clinton?

Thats Hilary Clinton. She hasn't been President at all.

Gazelda · 22/03/2016 21:18

Lost he didn't do more than 2 terms. Are you sure you aren't counting both George Bush and his son George W Bush? Both served as President.

RougeEtNoir · 22/03/2016 21:18

No, Bush did 2 terms too - 4 years each. His dad did 1 term.

megletthesecond · 22/03/2016 21:18

lost no, his dad did one (?) then George did two.

What's it been lately? Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama.
