Apparently she did something
www.biography.com/people/laura-bush-9232785#becoming-political

But not sure those activities took a lot of time from her.

I expect she spent most of her time parenting her OH.

I've often wondered what effect it would have on how the President is perceived if there a First Lady who did absolutely nothing on her own, just showed up as a Plus One at dinners and balls.
I've some American friends who think that Laura Bush didn't do anything other than lounge around, reading and smoking. (Ok, maybe just one friend said this, once.)

It's his initials. His name is John Ellis Bush. I wonder if that's where Arrested Development got the idea for GOB Bluth? (George Oscar Bluth, if I remember correctly.)

Watch it with the West Wing.

I was present once when our Secretary of State asked a procedural question about "what if..." and half way through answering, my boss went pink and said, "sorry, no, that only happened in the West Wing. I'm not sure. We'll have to find out."

I can't believe people didn't know the difference between George Sr and Jr. Hilarious!
Yes. Except it was posted as a joke. Check all the posts by that person.

If Hilary gets elected what will Bill's title be in place of "First Lady"?

To all who didn't know about two terms I highly recommend the West Wing and House of cards

I bet it took quite a lot of time to summon up the courage.

Damn you, Sanity, I woke the sleeping baby on my chest laughing at that!

HapShawl Alicia wouldn't "do nothing on her own" though. She's do LOADS of stuff on her own, it just might not be traditional First Lady stuff.

(don't tell me, I'm only on season 4)

Jeb Bush is like PIN Number

He's using the B twice.

It should be JeBush or Jeb Ush

Possibly for most FL it applies that behind a great man, there's a great woman.
Not sure a president can get there with someone who just shows up for functions.
Even Trump keeps quoting Melania (even though it's probably only as a rethorical aid).

That seems to be the direction The Good Wife might be heading

I don't know, but they do have some mad haters hatters.

Although not as mad as the blond haired wannabe red king, whose hands may or may not have taken a shrinking potion.

The blue queen is accused of being more of a royal red hue. But she's definitely running to stay again in the same White House.

It looks like she's set at least not to drown in quick Sand at the next big garden party
