Is Voldemort a virgin?

OhShutUpThomas · 21/02/2016 21:07

And any other Harry Potter mysteries!

Can anyone answer mine?
Is Voldemort a virgin?
What happened to Rodolphus Lestrange?
Why do some spells take weeks and hours of homework to learn, yet Harry can imperious people by just saying it?

Anyone else? I've got more, can't think just now. Just finished re-reading!

He threw the stone away and they vanished - because he chose to give them up.

What I want to know is; how are we supposed to believed that Barty Crouch Jr could convincingly play the part of Moody for 9 months?

GoF is the worst book of the series as the while tournament is pointless and flawed! I wish she could rewrite that novel

VoldysGoneMouldy · 26/02/2016 20:34

What house is Albus in?!

VoldysGoneMouldy · 26/02/2016 20:35

Shock I love GoF!

WonderingAspie · 26/02/2016 21:28

Is everyone going to buy Cursed Child? I can't go and see it, too far away and don't really want to read a book that essentially just a script (how shit is that!) But I want to know what happens!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/02/2016 21:30

Am I right in thinking that JKR didn't actually write it?

00100001 · 26/02/2016 21:39

err, technically Albus has't gone to Hogwarts yet. James only just joined this year :p

Roonerspism · 26/02/2016 21:46

Best MN thread ever.

Can't believe there are other weirdos like me who think about this stuff

OublietteBravo · 26/02/2016 22:06

How do you end up with half-blood children at Hogwarts? No one in the magic world seems to interact with muggles if they can help it. And they all seem to marry someone they know from school. So surely the majority of students will be pure blood (with a handful of muggle-born students).

bruffin · 26/02/2016 22:12

Ive got tickets for December Shock although ds is going much earlier.

ironingbrew · 27/02/2016 01:30

Albus Severus Potter. The initials spell asp, it can't be a coincidence that he has a snakey related name.

Fiderer · 27/02/2016 08:28

When the Weasley house got burned down by loopy Bellatrix in the film (not the book though, I think, must re-read) - well heh? How did the family replace everything? All those lovingly knitted jumpers? Bits & bobs from the children's childhood?

And why wasn't it protected by magical anti-loopy burner-downers?

00100001 · 27/02/2016 08:47

The had bulidngs and content insurance through Gringotts. :p

00100001 · 27/02/2016 08:52

They should have totally called their first born Roonil Wazlib heheheheheh

Condorwoman · 27/02/2016 14:31

Ooh Ironing never spotted that.

Mind you Diagon Alley passed me by for a few years. Hmm

ShinyShinyShiny · 27/02/2016 15:40

I've always wondered about how wizard children learn to read and write. There is no mention of wizard primary schools and surely they can't all be home educated, but none of them seem to know what much about muggles either so they can't have gone to the local primary school.

And what do you do for childcare if you're a working wizard parent?

Stupefy?

I don't get the impression that the Wizarding world is great on women's rights, I suspect all the mothers are at home raising the children.

comeagainforbigfudge · 27/02/2016 19:34

I sometimes wonder if they ever get taught basic housekeeping spells. As in how to sew a button on, make tea and toast, make their beds, wash and iron uniforms etc

I mean, i know they have house elves but not all of them do. Otherwise Mrs Weasley wouldnt be doing everything and Ron would have thought to ask a house elf to help fix his dress robes rather than attempt it himself but well done him for trying

OhShutUpThomas · 27/02/2016 19:52

comeagain I'm always surprised Harry didn't send Kreacher to the Weasleys.

He also, despite having a fortune and them being brassic, is never ONCE mentioned sending them ANY presents, or giving them any money for all the meals and board he has from them.

LottieDoubtie · 27/02/2016 20:07

I think it's heavily implied (or outright said) that a house elf wouldn't be caught dead working for the likes of the Weasleys. I mean Kreacher would have gone there if ordered to of course but I imagine Harry didn't want to inflict Kreacher's rudeness and whinging on Mrs Weasley.

Harry also says he 'knows' they wouldn't take his money- he does give Fred and George the triwizard money though don't forget. He also believes that Mrs Weasley enjoys cooking and keeping house.

That's believable- teenagers aren't renowned for being accurate in how they imagine adults feel about things! (And he isn't very bright anyway...)

comeagainforbigfudge · 27/02/2016 20:19

Gawds can you imagine kreacher at the weasleys? He would mump and moan about how they are blood traitors and Mrs Weasley wouldnt trust him and would follow him around redoing all his "work"
Grin

ShinyShinyShiny · 27/02/2016 20:57

Sorely tempted to try stupefy on my toddler right now. 9pm and still resisting sleep. I bet wizards don't have these sorts of problems....

VoldysGoneMouldy · 27/02/2016 21:14

I dunno, maybe the new improved Kreacher would. He led the house elves in with the second wave of the Battle of Hogwarts. I have a bit of a soft spot for Kreacher after hearing what he went through.

Had also overlooked "ASP" initials! Maybe he's a Parseltongue?

WonderingAspie · 27/02/2016 21:20

Lots of interesting questions. I have also wondered what wizard children have done for education until Hogwarts. And how would they meet Muggles to marry? Although Fred and George mention the pretty Muggle girl at the post office so I guess they venture into the muggle world sometimes. How do they get bog roll? They don't use muggle money, surely they don't trek from hundreds of miles away just to go to Diagon Alley? I got Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley but didn't get Grimmauld Place until I saw a thread on here.
