There is a tiny elderly Korean lady in my garden and I want to go out.

Sold our summerhouse on gum tree. Dude came to look at it this morning about 9am, paid and was back by 11 to dismantle it. DH all togged up to assist but the guy politely and firmly refused as he wanted to take it apart himself so he could put it back together himself.

He pulled his van into our side return and installed a tiny elderly Korean lady (he is also Korean) on a deck chair on our patio.

He then spent an hour writing on every plank and taking 1500 photographs.

He then spent two hours peeling off the roof felt painstakingly. Korean lady has been to toilet twice. As far as I can see she is here for the day out.

However she has just been to the car and produced steaming hot noodles, broth and vegetables and they have had a lovely leisurely lunch on the patio.

He has just now resumed work and has actually started to remove the planks. Slowly. Methodically. I know because he has told me that there are 85 planks. Plus window. To removed and carry to car. DHs help has again been refused although he has taken matters into his own hands a bit and is carrying planks to car.

Elderly lady back on deck chair.

Help!! We want to go out and thought that this would take 2-3 hours max. It's been 4 and only the roof felt is off. We could lock the back door and leave them in the garden but what about elderly lady's toilet needs???? And water etc? They have a little tea break (from a flask) every now and then and have refused drinks but they must need water at some point.

Yeah they are probably made up too lol. Lol you lot are getting all defensive and acting like it happened right in front of you....you are probably the same person with another nick lol....(please do not respond to that with that dumb thing that people say on Mumsnet 'i am a regular poster, so I am real'.

I’m not defensive. Yes it might be made up. It was fun to read at the time. Who knows if it’s real. You are the one who brought it up, you are the one posting that you think it’s made up and you are the one who is continuing to post even after you said bye.

Why turn up on a forum, read a really old post and then announce it to be made up?

I just posted what i think of it just like how other posted their views on it. how hard is that to understand......lol i have a lot of time to answer all the silliness and dumbness being posted here in response to my post so my own 'bye' does not count. lol why everyone is sooo obsessed with how old the post is....totally irrelevant...i will respond when i read it.

Hello everyone - sorry I'm a bit late to this (thanks for @-ing me @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius ). I can categorically say I did not start this thread (and nor did anyone from the team):

  1. it's not something we do or need to do - there are so many bizarre, random, fascinating threads started by users.

  2. I wish I was that imaginative!

As an aside we have a Christmas pub quiz each year at MNHQ where we have to fill in the missing blanks from the thread titles and I remember this one from last year's quiz. Question: "There is a tiny BLANK in my garden and I want to go out". I think I answered gnome 😂

(I'm not sure why we deleted the post from Revolver suggesting I started this thread btw - looking into that but we don't generally delete this kind of thing so unless there's something else afoot we'll reinstate it).

DartmoorDoughnut · 21/08/2022 18:57

No idea why the TKL thread has reappeared but I’m happy it has, bloody loved this when it happened 🥰

May I suggest you invite me randomly selected MNers to this. Also, is there gin?

Can’t believe this has just popped up on my “threads I’m on”! It’s incredible that people still
remember this!
DS is now almost 11. Next doors cat sadly passed away but they have two new kittens now. I have another DS and a dog. Didn’t hear from EKL or KM ever again after they put the cigarettes through the door 🥲
Can’t believe this thread continues to get so much love!
@JustineMumsnet i an shocked tho that you didn’t get the title right and am questioning everything now. It’s like you don’t even care about EKL which can’t be right because she was so adorable yet terrifying?

I must confess this was a thread I read a few times when I was going through tough times. It never failed to lift my heart.

OgdensGoneNutFlake · 22/08/2022 00:33

I was disproportionately hoping that the OP's DS was still sat on TKL's lap some 8 years into the future and you had adopted her as a sort of Tiny Korean extra granny.

It's nice to know you are still on here OP!

DanielTheGhostGangbanger · 22/08/2022 01:25

Ooh - when I saw this pop up in trending my heart skipped a beat as I thought that maybe, many years later, the EKL had made a reappearance, or that a second part to the saga was about to emerge. Sadly not.

Love this thread so much, I remember it very well.

I read it about once a year. Only your posts! Not the whole thing. I'm not mad...

Ooh searched for this one after noticing the PFB had been resurrected.
Didn’t realise someone beat me to it
@Boysclothes always cheers me up. Thank you

We are still reading your thread 😂😂

I was shocked when this came up again. I remember where I was when I read this one and do you remember the one about the neighbour who climbed out of the window and claimed the garden? I’d love to know where this one ended.

I think it turned out to be a troll.
