There is a tiny elderly Korean lady in my garden and I want to go out.

Sold our summerhouse on gum tree. Dude came to look at it this morning about 9am, paid and was back by 11 to dismantle it. DH all togged up to assist but the guy politely and firmly refused as he wanted to take it apart himself so he could put it back together himself.

He pulled his van into our side return and installed a tiny elderly Korean lady (he is also Korean) on a deck chair on our patio.

He then spent an hour writing on every plank and taking 1500 photographs.

He then spent two hours peeling off the roof felt painstakingly. Korean lady has been to toilet twice. As far as I can see she is here for the day out.

However she has just been to the car and produced steaming hot noodles, broth and vegetables and they have had a lovely leisurely lunch on the patio.

He has just now resumed work and has actually started to remove the planks. Slowly. Methodically. I know because he has told me that there are 85 planks. Plus window. To removed and carry to car. DHs help has again been refused although he has taken matters into his own hands a bit and is carrying planks to car.

Elderly lady back on deck chair.

Help!! We want to go out and thought that this would take 2-3 hours max. It's been 4 and only the roof felt is off. We could lock the back door and leave them in the garden but what about elderly lady's toilet needs???? And water etc? They have a little tea break (from a flask) every now and then and have refused drinks but they must need water at some point.

This is so funny and I have a sweet image of your DS on a random woman's lap. The best part is their lunch on the patio! Grin

Fatgirlnomore · 09/08/2014 15:34

I thought you said that there was a tiny Korean in your lady garden .......

curlyclaz13 · 09/08/2014 15:34

He'll be an engineer of some sort. I bet his wife has a tape measure in her handbag in case of emergencies.
I would just go out though and lock the doors leave a potty for the tiny lady ?

Floop · 09/08/2014 15:34

Maybe he's an architect or an engineer? My dad would have just tried tying it to the roof bars. Bit like he does with the Christmas tree.

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKahleesi · 09/08/2014 15:34

Why did you make him a cup of tea you muppet Grin

Cheeky fuckers, tell them if they're not done within an hour they'll have to sling their hook

Julius02 · 09/08/2014 15:36

Hilarious. Keep us posted!

Notso · 09/08/2014 15:40

I love the fact they came prepared with lunch and a flask Grin

Boysclothes · 09/08/2014 15:41

Next doors cat is now on her lap. She has not acknowledged this fact but is stroking it silently.

DH says we can't go out. Rude/security/toilet. I highly doubt they have gone to these lengths to gain access to our back garden but he has many many tools, the altar of which he worships at.

I think its a day to take the opportunity to chill out and enjoy the spectacle. Maybe they fancy a bit of cake?

Fluffyears · 09/08/2014 15:47

Oh my don't walk past with dinner you'll end up feeding them too.

KiKiFrance · 09/08/2014 15:48

How strange! I'd just go out!

storytopper · 09/08/2014 15:48

This is fabulous! Most unusual and funny thread for ages.

Cornettoninja · 09/08/2014 15:48

Get her in your kitchen to teach you how to make the noodle broth - I bet it's amazing.

I also bet she's hit you over the knuckles with a wooden spoon at least once Grin

rootypig · 09/08/2014 15:49

Should also say DS spent the better part of the morning on elderly lady's lap. Just sitting there watching the roof felt being peeled off. She didn't speak to him and he didn't speak to her. Just sat together quite happily!

This, I would pay money for!

Salmotrutta · 09/08/2014 15:49

Love, love love this! Grin

hiddenhome · 09/08/2014 15:50

They both sound very laid back. Perhaps you should just hang out with them Smile

MammaTJ · 09/08/2014 15:52

Surely your need to go out is not as pressing as our need for regular updates! Grin

RamsaySnowsSausage · 09/08/2014 15:53

Please tell me your DS isn't 18 years old...Grin

PartyGateCrasher · 09/08/2014 15:53

For a moment, I thought you were talking about my DH. Until I realised that he was neither elderly or Korean.

He is, however, as meticulous as your elderly chap. Has he started to write detailed intructions on how to get it back together yet. Not wanting to panic you, but that is something my very anal DH would do. Grin

TheFirstOfHerName · 09/08/2014 15:54

Best thread title ever.

Boysclothes · 09/08/2014 15:58

I have been hanging out with them all day! No conversation though as great big language barrier. But just chilling with book.

Why don't you go out and leave your husband, next doors cat, the old lady and the Korean builder to get on with it. Chances are you'll be having them over for dinner so you can catch up then ;-)

CheeseToastie123 · 09/08/2014 16:03

I adore this thread. That is all.
