There is a tiny elderly Korean lady in my garden and I want to go out.

Sold our summerhouse on gum tree. Dude came to look at it this morning about 9am, paid and was back by 11 to dismantle it. DH all togged up to assist but the guy politely and firmly refused as he wanted to take it apart himself so he could put it back together himself.

He pulled his van into our side return and installed a tiny elderly Korean lady (he is also Korean) on a deck chair on our patio.

He then spent an hour writing on every plank and taking 1500 photographs.

He then spent two hours peeling off the roof felt painstakingly. Korean lady has been to toilet twice. As far as I can see she is here for the day out.

However she has just been to the car and produced steaming hot noodles, broth and vegetables and they have had a lovely leisurely lunch on the patio.

He has just now resumed work and has actually started to remove the planks. Slowly. Methodically. I know because he has told me that there are 85 planks. Plus window. To removed and carry to car. DHs help has again been refused although he has taken matters into his own hands a bit and is carrying planks to car.

Elderly lady back on deck chair.

Help!! We want to go out and thought that this would take 2-3 hours max. It's been 4 and only the roof felt is off. We could lock the back door and leave them in the garden but what about elderly lady's toilet needs???? And water etc? They have a little tea break (from a flask) every now and then and have refused drinks but they must need water at some point.

I want to go to garden centre to get loads of nice plants. Nicer with DH really.

There's been an incident. Elderly Korean lady has tottered over to examine the geraniums in the summer house window box.

You write really well, op.

I'm all 'aahing'

I disagree with most, stay in and look after them.

A cat and a small boy can't be wrong.
and I'm enjoying reading about it

Ohhh, you are so lucky, OP, to have this tiny elderly Korean lady sitting in your garden!

And your DS went and sat on her! How old is he? I think this all might be very sweet.

I certainly don't think they are rude, or cheeky, or anything like that. I'm with the poster up-thread who suggested that you haul out the barbecue and make a day of it!

Take her hostage and take her to the garden centre with you.

Cats are good judges of character, stay in and garden centre tomorrow.

It's your mumsnet duty for Saturday afternoon.

Your plants from the garden centre wil only get wrecked in the apocalypse storm that we are all threatened with tonight/tomorrow.

You'll never get the chance to see what Korean Lady does next if you go out. Maybe she'll ask all her sisters round!

PS How do you know she is Korean??

This thread is fantastic. How old is your DS? Maybe you can use elderly lady as a babysitter in the future. Smile

Ok I missed the detail as DS woke up and I watched this from his bedroom window. But geraniums are now in plastic bags. EKL has sat back down and is holding the bags. Not sure why she has not put them on floor or similar.

DS 2.5.

We assumed as have massive Korean community here. Then in course of conversation (with man) they said they were from Seoul.

I bet she'd love to visit the garden Centre with you. Go on, she could do with a trip out.

The sweet old lady is nicking your geraniums! This complicates the garden centre plan. Does she think you are the garden centre?

Came downstairs with DS.

Korean man approached. Said his mother loved the geraniums. May she take them?

I said yes as to be fair they were in the window box of the summer house he'd bought. Plus they were already in bags held by EKL. Rattle of Korean from KM to EKL and I got a huge grin and nod from her.

DH just told me he'd already said yes but then there was a bit of back and forth between KM and EKL and then KM said he had to check with me.

DSS now standing next to EKL with his hand on her trousers.

I bet they're her own bags. If she's organised enough to bring her own lunch she'll have pockets full of plastic bags and safety pins and loose change. (Like my gran)

I wonder if they think it's odd I keep going outside for a minute and then running back in to kitchen for a few seconds before going to stand outside again?

Bag check. They seem to be our bags. DH provided, I suspect, must have changed hands when I went upstairs.

There's probably an EKL version of MN that she's surreptitiously updating with your to-ing and fro-ing behaviour.
