So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Saggy, I think so :( dh is beating himself up about it and the stress it's caused. It's not his fault at all and he's been amazing. We're bracing ourselves for excuses.

Ok I'll let you have that. Well actually there is no such thing as too much Original Star Trek, or the two 'reboot' movies, I agree there, but there is definitely far too much of the spin-off nonsense in between (and as someone who has a crush on Scott Bakula I don't say that lightly).

Chris, all I know about camp doughnuts is that we used to have a horse show every summer in a local park. It was the highlight of our year as we could all hack to it and they'd have a fairground and everything. And the scouts used to come every year and set up a stall selling what they called 'camp doughnuts', which were...jam sandwiches deep fried in batter! Bloody gorgeous and no doubt responsible for many a heart attack.

Btw, if it's as muddy as it is here are you sure you want this horsebox in your field? There's a good chance they won't be able to get it out again!

Hello again, I'm not exactly a lurker delurking but I did disappear due to that rubbish life stuff happening rubbishly and inconveniently. However I sooo like the attention you give delurkers (creep creep!) so I am in disguise with a big Delurker Hat on :)

I am still primed to bring me and disability scooter with trellis attached and a side seat for rides & races. My 3 yr old has turned most peculiar though, was bringing him for rambunctious preschool lunacy but he's turned all Polite and Genial. He now makes better polite conversation than I do. And keeps offering guests seats and drinks. It's disturbing. Yet I'm going with it, so any scarf colour for a junior host please???

Saturday is my birthday so I'm wishing for horse vanishing potion which I'll chuck straight over to you xxx

I've got the box set of the first season. We could get a giant screen and show it at the festival, like when they show movies on Brighton beach, and we could have popcorn and camp doughnuts instead of hotdogs .
Tbh it would be a welcome break from all the caber tossing and goat juggling.

And we have had an email. Late last night RL, with no prompting, got in touch to say she just heard that the person with the trailer hadn't gotten organised before dark. UW would have known(since she came and fed the horses at 3.30ish) but RL probably only found out when she phoned to see how it had gone.

With more wind due today I can't say I'm sorry that I don't have a highsided trailer to blow over in my field.

So it's good news! They're still planning on Saturday, and as Jux points out, they don't have time to get scared of it.

I'm back to quiet optimism.

I'm never going to be surprised by UW's rudeness.
