I zoomed in on that and did a double take. It looked like a lizards head at a glance. Not quite sure what a Lizards head would be doing inside a pear though OP so think you are safe. I wouldnt eat a Pear for at least a decade after that neither. .

I had the Caterpillar flesh in the top of a Copella drink once. Didn't drink another for years! . Ex Dh found a snail in the mixed veg. We aren't sure whether it was dead on packaging or we microwaved the poor sod alive .

I know what it is. It is a mutant pear seed that was exposed to radioactive rays.

It was definitely a pear I think it was in with all the other non mutant pears.

I think they meant, 'that's a shame you don't want more tasty pears' rather than 'omfg, that's a shame to got the one with the zombie invasion'

XDH used to work in a fruit & veg shop.
He has confirmed the earlier greengrocer's diagnosis, it is indeed a "what the fuck is that?".

I agree on the pear midge thing. I looked up common pear parasites and this one is very close in appearance. Usually the fruitlets turn black and fall off, this looks like the pear has continued to grow, either that or it was a twin pear the grew around the infected fruitlet.

My friend mentioned the squidgy banana with spider infestation in it that was on here before. So from now on, I will chop everything up before I eat it.
