As the name suggests, I am sadly (but not that sadly) doing a shiney penguin....

Quick potted history. With boyfriend 9 months. Not that serious but we had had the exclusive talk. Met on a dating site.

About a month ago had a feeling something wasn't right. Few nights he was supposed to be here and cancelled for dopey reasons that set my spidey sense tingling.

Looked on the dating site and lo and beholdy there is was, active, having logged in in the last 24 hours.

But I am not as stupid as he thinks I am.

I set up a profile called thisblokeliesandcheats (it's been taken down) with all his details except photo and spelled out what he'd done (thanks whoever that was who suggested that one) and I will probably do it again

At this point he's said he's coming here Thursday night to stop for the weekend (he doesn't work Friday)

BUT he has also arranged to meet "Anna" off the dating site at a lovely new restaurant for lunch on the Friday about an hour away from here (half an hour from his house)

Obviously, I am Anna.

So, how long do I keep this going. My teeth are itching I want to tell him so much Grin

Am also a little upset, but I had nothing invested in the relationship, so my pride has taken a hit and I feel a bit of a mug but other than that am grand.

The fleece needs to go quickly , before you get to the feeling a bit pissed and missing him stuff , fleeces are too cuddly .

Dangerous thing the fleece .

EverythingsNotRosie · 26/08/2011 20:56

Brilliant brilliant brilliant! I also apologise to the lady at soft play who i grinned inanely at when i clocked her stripy top! sadly, you rock!

MyGoldfishIsEvil · 26/08/2011 20:57

Sadly, yay for you - you really did a job on him! I'm not sure I wouldn't have had to go to the restaurant as 'Anna' just to see the expression on his stupid face - but what you did had great dignity - well done and hurrah for getting rid of him. Stay strong now.

I don't know how he has the nerve to text you and try and come round straight from being stood up by Anna, the cheating swine.

Have a Wine

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 26/08/2011 20:58

You'll be out but will leave it on the doorstep for him (he can do the sodding running about.

really don't even consider going out of your way to do anything for him, remember what he was going to do to you. Hold onto that resolve.

BTW this is one of the BEST threads I've been on in ages so pleased for you sadly but now you need a name change, you can't be sadly forever!

Valpollicella · 26/08/2011 21:00

Mouseface · 26/08/2011 21:10

I'm not posh enough for an iPhone, so no. Grin

sadlydoingshineypenguins · 26/08/2011 21:11

Flip messages??

OP posts:
cardibach · 26/08/2011 21:12

Aaaaah. No offence buyt I see your point. It's not really the shortness, more the lack of style. I'm sure you are woman enough to rock it though baby. Or go and get it cut in a more choppy and textured way by someone who knows what they are doing. Mine is shorter but I love it. It's also red .

LeBJOF · 26/08/2011 21:12

It's easier to click the plus in the corner and then opt to flip the messages, I think.

cardibach · 26/08/2011 21:12

Sorry wrong thread. Stupid wine and computer.

TrillianAstra · 26/08/2011 21:14

I agree with Mouseface.

You have caused him embarrassment, that is all. It's far less than what he was willing to put you through. Don't ever feel bad about messing him around.

And yes I love love love that everyone knows what "doing a shiney penguin" means! :o

Mouseface · 26/08/2011 21:14

Grin at cardi I was about to post eh?? Confused Grin

Poshbaggirl · 26/08/2011 21:15

.

TrillianAstra · 26/08/2011 21:15

Hi Anna, I'm not a mum and I love Mumsnet. It's not all like this and there will be lots of threads that you find boring or incomprehensible or where you disagree with people but that's the beauty of it, all of human life is here.

Poshbaggirl · 26/08/2011 21:17

I agree with cardi! LolConfused

GreatNorksOfFire · 26/08/2011 21:19

Got to the end of page 1....I'm in for the long haul aren't I?! Grin

Poshbaggirl · 26/08/2011 21:20

LeBJOF. Ooooo you clever clever girl! You have made my world an easier and better place.
