The last time I fell in love with a kitten it was a little grey tabby that was born feral and a woman I know from a rescue forum was re-homing.

I showed the kids her picture and then asked dp in front of them if we could take her Blush

We had 5 cats already Blush

He forgave me after the first snuggle he had with her though, he's a bigger softie than me really Grin

I'd really love to take the tortoiseshell but all my cats are older now (when we got Tess there were two kittens of similar age in the house anyway) and I don't know if it would be fair on the kitten.... fair enough if it was homeless and I had to take it but it's not and I don't Sad

ClaireDeLoon · 01/06/2011 17:17

That's what I say Summer - if it is homeless and in need I will take it, but much as I would LOVE to have a fluffy kitten baby I know that the dynamic of my two boys together works well for them (one is very highly strung and stressy, I'm not being massively precious!) and don't want to affect that.

But if a cat in need came knocking or I heard of an oldie that was facing living out is life in a cattery rather than a family home I would do it.

TheOriginalFAB · 01/06/2011 17:27

My cat is a tortoiseshell and not spoilt at all...

Home for a half a day before dashing off to a wedding and had to log on to see how the kitties are doing. Gorgeous new pics Pinot! DD found an old album of mine this morning that had photos of my two (now both deceased) when I first got them and it made me all sad. Happy memories.

Meow and Ginger look bloody fabulous - you have done such a fantastic job. Will read rest of thread when I return.

Have lurked for weeks but can't resist any longer. How gorgeous are they? And how fab are you Pinot?! Grin
Cannot believe they are so big now!!!!

stinkyfluffycat · 04/06/2011 15:51

Awwwwwwwww! There's only one thing I get more gooey over than a kitten photo and that's a photo of TWO KITTENS CUDDLED UP TO A DOG! Absolutely completely adorable..
Well done you, they look like extremely content purry kittens indeed!

Pinot · 04/06/2011 17:13

Ooh Nun I love it when a lurker posts! Makes me ver' happy :)

I'm down to only 3 milk feeds a day now - brekkie, bedtime and one in the middle at some point - all the rest is whiskas kitten food. I am really gonna miss the bottle feeding I must say!

ExitPursuedByAKitten · 05/06/2011 16:51

I'm Hooooome.

7 weeks old! Gosh how grown up are they.

Don't worry Pinot, you will always be their mum. Lucky Kitties Smile

Pinot · 05/06/2011 16:53

Did you have fun gallavanting about like a crazy cat?

OP posts:
GoodnightNobody · 05/06/2011 20:57

oh, oh, oh what lovely photos. Thank you for keeping them updated, it's so wonderful to see how they're growing.

Happy, lucky kittens.

Pinot · 05/06/2011 20:59

Ah thanks!

ExitPursuedByAKitten · 05/06/2011 22:34

Lovely time thanks Pinot. Except the dog had to go from beach to Kennels so he was not a happy boy and is still wearing a very pinched expression. But he still loves me, cats on the other hand would be very hard to win round. (don't want to be a party pooper but shouldn't they be thinking of giving up the bottle feeds soon?)

onclefestere · 06/06/2011 11:39

oh they are so big now and they look so well!!! Grin

Pinot · 06/06/2011 12:22

Down to 2 a day now Exit! I know it's for my enjoyment as much as their nutritional needs, but have heard many times of kittens still feeding from Mummy cats at 7 weeks (actually much much later) so I'm just finishing the kitty milk powder in the cupboard and then no more. I'll be sad to do their last feed but proud they made it :) About 4 days milk left I think so that'll be 8 weeks on the nose for fully weaned.

Jabs next week!!

OP posts:
ExitPursuedByAKitten · 06/06/2011 12:25

Actually - just remembered, the cat we had when I was 7 had a litter of kittens and 3 of them went but one stayed with us until it was about one year old, and I think she used to still feed sometimes.

Will it be their first trip out when the go for their jabs? Oh, that big wide world to explore.....

SummerRain · 06/06/2011 13:25

My female fed all hers for a ridiculously long time, they were almost as big as her when they stopped!

Makes me feel better about my own current inability to wean ds2 though Grin

ClaireDeLoon · 07/06/2011 21:50

Are they really adventurous yet?

Jux · 07/06/2011 23:31

Oh more beautiful pics! (Haven't been around much recently.) Aren't they wonderful.
