I actually have some in I think.

ClaireDeLoon · 27/05/2011 14:01

Good luck for the vets, how long has she had kidney problems?

With regard to shorter but happier life, my old boy, Harry, I got when he was 10 from CPL (age an estimate as he had been a stray). He had to go on to steroids from the off as he had a severe skin allergy. They said long term steroids would shorten his life but like I say he lived until 19.

I think he started with kidney failure at about 16 so he had a good few years at a fairly advanced age on the steroids, kidney meds and finally also permanent antibiotics as he had a mouth infection from a growth but he was too old for an op to remove it. He was very much one for sleeping on the bed, preferably on my pillow, which was great with the bad breath that the mouth infection gave!

TheOriginalFAB · 27/05/2011 16:06

It is at least 3 months.

She actually asked for her tea, as in came and got me when I wasn't coming in the house wuick enough Grin and I gave her a new new food as I wanted her to eat. She ate Grin.

I have fed FabCat and FabGirlGuineaPig and FabBoyGuineaPig so now I can feed the kids!!

Pinot · 28/05/2011 12:05

Well ickle Ginger is a good boy and ate a plate of Whiskas kitten food this morning So now both of them are on solids :)

Unfortunately I was awake between 2.20 and about 5 due to them chasing each other around the bedroom/weeing on the carpet/making the dogs wake up etc etc. Last checked the clock at 4.45 and they finally fell asleep a little later.

This fun "wake up in the night" game needs to stop

Someone please send them a memo as they clearly didn't receive mine Grin

Pinot · 28/05/2011 12:34

Northernlurker · 28/05/2011 12:39

Oh that video is adorable! Co-cleeping cat style Smile

SummerRain · 28/05/2011 18:32

I've always co-slept with all my babies. human and feline and it's always been fine. In fact with ds2 we co-slept with him and kittens and it was lovely (although dp swears ds2 thinks he's a cat now too)

That video was uber-cute Grin

saffronwblue · 29/05/2011 00:36

Great news about the eating. You have done such a brilliant job Pnot. I love sleeping with a cat in the bed, but my cat is banned because she is so militant at dawn. A swipe to the face is how she starts the day accompanied by really menacing loud purring.

saffronwblue · 29/05/2011 00:36

squareegg · 29/05/2011 11:03

I have happily melted at that video.
Glad the weaning's going well. Funny how I switch off the minute people talk about their struggles with weaning their babies, but for kitties I am agog!
Have posted on this thread before btw, just name changed.

What's their next mile stone going to be? Will they need their jabs or anything soon?

TheOriginalFAB · 29/05/2011 11:57

Sad at the thought of my furry niece and nephew getting jabbed Sad.

CestTout · 29/05/2011 12:53

Been away for a week so just caught up on last page at airport will be straight on comp at home to see video! Glad they are both on solids :-)

squareegg · 29/05/2011 13:37

Oooh Fab, theyre so fluffy it wouldn't hurt at all. Promise!

Pinot · 29/05/2011 15:34

YAY! CestTout is back!

And ooh who were you before squareegg? I love a namechange guessing game Wink

I think I'm going to have to make DH accept the co-sleeping as they just refuse to sleep on their own past silly o'clock in the morning. Though this morning they slept til 6am which is good. I mean, it's hideous right? I wanna sleep til 10 but 6 is better than it has been. I Grin at saffrons menacing purring - so true!

They had a plate of food for brekkie and ate it all, then I added a bit more and they ate all of that as well, bar 4 little cubes of meat. They had huge bellies so promptly fell asleep for a couple of hours :) Pure contentment :)

I'm off to google when they have jabs - luckily we haven't needed the vets in a while so I don't know!

You sure???

SummerRain · 29/05/2011 15:45

I think 12 weeks for the first lot

squareegg · 29/05/2011 21:30

Yes Fab, and then they will lead long healthy happy lives Smile

Wish I could say I was royalty in disguise pinot, but really I'm just a shy retiring type who once joined you all to squeeee over tiny kittens.

CestTout · 29/05/2011 21:42

I am absolutely melting at the pictures - they are so gorgeous and love the mental image of Meow side jumping and Ginger watching with disbelief!

Amazing to see how far they have come and its all thanks to you Pinot am slightly drunk on wine I have brought back!! Oh dear.... Anyway - cheers!!!!

squareegg · 29/05/2011 22:17

Just been getting my feline fixes on youtube

When the kitties grow up will they be or or something else altogether? Smile

Jellykat · 29/05/2011 22:21

Oh Pinot, i've only been away a week, and Ginger and Meow are enormous, and now on solids, blinking excellent.. Grin
