Haven't read all thread but you are not, by any chance, in NE Wales? Friend has missing cat there...

Pinot · 25/05/2011 10:51

Funny you say that Jux as recently Meow has done everything a day or two before her brother. She has taken to sitting quietly and observing us really intently, whereas Ginger still lollops around like a fluffy nutter :)

sorry belle - I'm in Sussex

Fluffy nutter :o we have a cat that was christened NutNut within an hour of him arriving because he was such a nutty kitten. I love nutty kittens.

happymole · 25/05/2011 11:25

Pinot I knew you could do it!

It's just because you are such a good Mum they are not ready to give you up yet.

They won't grow up weird or anything.

Although did anyone see this weeks That's Life that I bought found. Woman breastfeeds her 13 year old son Shock

That's weird

happymole · 25/05/2011 11:26

Obviously I don't mean the actual copy of That's Life that I have.

Pinot · 25/05/2011 11:37

When I typed that, I had a mental image of two fully grown cats venturing outside with jumpers and ribbons on.

Followed by a harassed looking Pinot brandishing bottles

Yay for Meow!! Grin

Come on Ginger!!

ExitPursuedByAKitten · 25/05/2011 14:25

Hurrah for Meow! Go get em girl.

Ginger slowcoach

Pinot · 25/05/2011 15:06

Meow has had two whole spoonfuls for lunch Ginger - nada. I've not fed milk though so hoping he'll have a go at the food leftover by his sis and if not, I'll bottle feed at teatime.

Meow has taken to springing about sideways doing a kind of "pppppprrrrroooowwwww" noise - very funny and cute! She kind of leaps and makes a noise at the same time. Ginger is like this - Hmm at her!

Ginger has taken to scraping the litter every which way before he deigns to sit for a pee. Very satisfying hoovering it up I must say.

SummerRain · 25/05/2011 15:43

Well done Meow. I'm sure Ginger will figure it out soon now that he has a woman to show him how Wink

Jux · 26/05/2011 13:31

Ah yes, Pinot [dons professorial specs and strokes beard] Meow has clearly entered the Kitten-seeing-ghosts stage. Very funny. Make a recording of it if you can, as they do become too dignified for such foolishness before long. Kittens are cute, but cats are dignified.

Pinot · 26/05/2011 14:07

Ha Jux yes it is like she's seeing things! She is hilarious today - like she's had an expresso, tearing around the place and then collapsing asleep Grin

She's eaten loads of meat today - really wolfed it down but though Ginger watched her he didn't want to sniff or lick, nor when I tried it on my finger. It's fine though

I had my first "OMG!" shout today when Meow was on the top of the sofa and Ginger was seemingly stuck underneath a very heavy unit...I'd left them for literally 30 seconds and they were in their tub when I left.

Kittens 1 - 0 Pinot Grin

just thinking Pinot...my Mum hand reared her kitten from 3 weeks old and I remember at about 5-6 weeks her trying Bramble with some mashed potato - no salt obviously, but a little milk to make it mushy, let it cool to finger comfortable temperature. Might work with reluctant Ginger? Also worked with my 10 week old kitten recovering from cat flu...he too did not fancy cat food just then.

OTheHugeManatee · 26/05/2011 14:16

I lost your thread and was worried it'd got full. But instead there are new pics!

I absolutely melted at upside-down Ginger in your hands, with little fat white fuzzy tum. They're so far beyond cute I don't actually have enough squee to express it Grin

Well done on starting the weaning, Pinot - you're being very patient. I'm sure Ginger will have a go when he's ready.

Pinot · 26/05/2011 16:50

Ooh unclefester that's a top idea, I'll try that. He has licked philly cheese before so i know it's not an anti-licking thing...yes, maybe the meat is too smelly/just too much to begin with. Interesting!

OTHM - we've been extended

In a proud moment today, Ginger was able to lift his back leg and lick his balls for the first time Grin Grin

OP posts:
unclefester77 · 26/05/2011 16:57

mash is the way forward with small kittens. It's milky and you can mix a little kitten food in gradually Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 26/05/2011 17:05

LOL at Ginger ball licking. Bloody hell boys start young!!!

SummerRain · 26/05/2011 17:10

Jux... can I borrow your dignified cats to teach my lot a thing or two? My cats are not dignified.....

One chases slippers and walks around with them mowing... she also attacks the kids toys
One is 2 and still does the chasing ghosts thing
One is so clumsy he falls off chairs and counters constantly
One is prone to sleeping upside down with legs splayed off in every direction snoring

Hmm Mine must have missed the Dignity 101 class they were supposed to attend Grin

ClaireDeLoon · 26/05/2011 18:05

Wait until he starts playing with what pokes up Pinot.

Jux · 26/05/2011 18:59

Ah but SummerRain, that is merely our flawed human perception. I should have said cats think they are dignified Grin

Pinot · 26/05/2011 19:08

OK have made mash and he sniffed but wouldn't lick...so I used my finger to pop a bit in his mouth and he seemed to swallow it, after lots of spitty noises. Did that a few times, with lots falling down so not sure how much went down...but certainly preferable to wrestling with stinky kitten food :)
