Grin Blush

Thank you! I was pretty annoyed actually because it was really uncalled for. However, rather than responding in kind (I was called a 'snobby cow' for information, for the rest of you!), I decided to rise above it. I think it had the desired result. Although it would have been nice to have received an apology Hmm

And I'm very, very honoured to be Aunty BIWI to Ginger and Meow!

OTheHugeManatee · 12/05/2011 17:24

SummerRain · 12/05/2011 17:25

Grin

Lamb.... scariest yet was being at my parents house and hearing a scream from ds2 and running round the corner to find one of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.ie/imgres?imgurl=4.bp.blogspot.com/_GeYBSHgvzzM/Sq_tcqn4WDI/AAAAAAAAAzE/vNNX5k4ssc0/s1600/bullmastiff295x266%255B1%255D.jpg&imgrefurl=we-do-write.blogspot.com/2010/06/interview-with-lacey-j-boldyrev.html&usg=__g3qEjJ0oczFzAbs6S3MerAqIo6s=&h=266&w=295&sz=23&hl=en&start=0&sig2=1T58yiXnRF2T2qkdkRktqw&zoom=1&tbnid=Tx-dL9vhEsIaEM:&tbnh=157&tbnw=174&ei=dgnMTbbdHY7PiAL939meBg&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dbull%2Bmastiff%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4GGLS_enIE403IE403%26biw%3D1659%26bih%3D818%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=511&vpy=111&dur=2266&hovh=212&hovw=236&tx=122&ty=104&page=1&ndsp=31&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">these backing him into a corner Shock And my parents really do live in the arse end of nowhere, if there's anywhere you'd expect to be able to let the kids play outdoors safely it's there!

Pinot · 12/05/2011 17:32

Just read this thread. It is the loveliest I've ever read on MN. Your kittens and gorgeous; you're amazing, 3 weeks of broken sleep, 2 hr feeds, constant care and attention. Amazing. They are beautiful though aren't they?

I just thought I'd mention kitten food by James Wellbeloved. Mostly, the kitten food you get in the supermarket is OK for kittens from about 8 weeks, but can often play havoc with their tummies until they get used to it; they're generally fine with it at 12 weeks.

We've had 3 kittens in the last 5 years. When we first got each of them, they each found 'normal' kitten food too rich and wound up with diarrhoea and farts to die for - really, really good farts, farts a 12 year old boy would be jealous of!

The Wellbeloved stuff is less demanding for little kitty tummies. You can get over the internet (eg. here), but your friendly Pets at Home probably have it. A bit more expensive I think, but you don't need it for long, just while they get used to having solids in their tums; I don't think we ever used it for longer than two weeks.

Pinot · 12/05/2011 18:45

Oh Jux that is great advice, thank you! Ginger has a smelly enough botty with just milk for heaven knows what he'll be like on solids

Grin

Meow, otoh, is a lady

Oh, and I am very very very sure that the loveliness of this thread comes from the support and the warmth of MNers holding my hand in this. I just do the practical stuff!

Oh lordy.... cuteness overload Grin

Squueeee!

socka · 13/05/2011 10:27

I have quietly lurked on the thread but cannot contain myself any longer. That picture of them looking up together. Oh. my. gosh! You know when you're a new mum and feel bad that your baby is way more beautiful than all the others? Well if you're thinking that about these 2 then you are so right!

OTheHugeKittens · 13/05/2011 10:32
Pinot · 13/05/2011 10:41

Oh Exit you just made me laugh out loud! Hi Summer

Glad you like them - I've just been skimming the horrid McCann thread and so to come back to this one is like jumping into cool water after walking through flames

(I love this thread...it's good for my mental health to be able to squeeeeeeee with such lovely MNers)

socka I do think that!! I totally do!! I am such a PFB with them Grin

BTWB How are solo, shocker and figaro? :)

OP posts:
ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2011 10:42

Oh I adore that ginger, please please please can I have him? I will trade you with two independent aloof but very handsome boy cats who appear to have gone right off me.

I would spend all day rubbing that lovely chubby tummy.

Pinot · 13/05/2011 10:46

Grin Claire - noooooo, but I can offer you cake in a placatory manner? Grin

OP posts:
OTheHugeManatee · 13/05/2011 10:49

It's the one where Ginger is being all bitey with your hand that makes me completely melt. You can see how tiny he still is, but just how fierce he's still determined to be Grin

How is the KLW going? Are they still on milk only?

Jux · 13/05/2011 10:50

They are just so cute I nearly went squeeeeee but, haing just had a look at netmums, couldn't quite bring myself to Blush.

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2011 10:51

I can't have cake I'm on a diet, just hand over the kitten OK :o

futurity · 13/05/2011 10:59

Also coming out of lurking to squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee at your kittens! They are SO gorgeous! I have two beautiful 2 year old cats that we got last year but I am SO tempted to get kittens later in the year after we come back from holiday and it is all your fault..damn you! Wink (I have had 4 cats in the past so wouldn't be a leap into the unknown but I am in denial as to how much they will destroy my house and climb up my back!)
