Make sure you pack away any breakable ornaments before they really get going Wink

Excellant pics..... so sweet seeing them with your dog Grin

Jellykat · 01/05/2011 20:01

Glad your mini-break was fun, and all was well upon your return Pinot!

Love the new piccys'... their little wobbly legs and a big maternal Ruby...Smile

OTheHugeManatee · 01/05/2011 23:52

Popped back in for a little

Please keep updating!

Totally adorable kittens Grin.

They are making me feel very happy when I am feeling sad about my very old act being very poorly.

CestTout - you do know your Grandad's kitten went AWOL on purpose so it didn't have to go to the blue cross rescue place? WinkGrin.

Pinot · 02/05/2011 13:57

Oh FAB I hope FabCat is going to be OK. My Dads oldest cat (he had 3) died 3 weeks ago at the grand old age of 18 and he was just beside himself. She was poorly for ages and watching her decline was very painful - though in the end she went peacefully. It's left a hole in their house though. What's wrong with FabCat and will she recover? {hugs}

Pinot - she has arthritis and hypoestesia which is liveable with but kidney failure which isn't and she won't recover.

Thank you. She has gone out at the moment so hopefully she is okay. DH and DS1 are taking the shed down so I hope she is well away from them!

TheOriginalFAB · 02/05/2011 14:21

She has just come in so I have had to move everything off the sofa so she can sit down on it Grin.

Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED YOU OR ANYONE ELSE THAT IS CAT-WISE

Gingers little bald patch is weird and worrying me. Its starting to get new hair on, so it looks short and fluffy, but has grown (even relative to his growth) and the skin underneath looks flaky and a bit dry.

I bathed him earlier in baby shampoo to give it a clean after I got a PM from a cat-lover asking about it and I think now I must take him back to the vets. Any ideas what I can do in the meantime? I've googled ringworm which says its more likely a fully bald patch and on the head, legs, tail (which neither fit), he has no mites/fleas and is gaining weight still.

Ohhhhhhhhhh. :(

My cat had acne on her face and I had to put shampoo on it. I used Paul Mitchell shampoo then so she was spoilt. I don't know if that would help in your kitten's case though.

Pinot · 02/05/2011 17:43

I'm wondering if its mange now :( Gross. At least it's not bothering him though...

lol at the posh shampoo FAB!

SummerRain · 02/05/2011 18:17

It definitely sounds like the ringworm me and dp had once.... the ring moves outwards but the skin in the centre starts to heal but becomes very dry and flakey. A friends little boy had it on his face a couple of months ago and was left with a very dry and flaky looking patch on his face long after the ringworm had cleared.

I treated ours with savlon and it went away after about a week but not sure you should use savlon on a kitten so young Confused

I'm pretty sure mange has other symptoms too as it's caused by mites.... itching and discomfort.

Pinot · 02/05/2011 18:36

OK. THANK YOU!! Again Wink I'm going to put some 100% shea butter on it which will soothe and heal it - I've used them on his bum and it was OK.

Should I take him to the vets just in case, Summer, or leave it a couple of days and check it?

CestTout · 02/05/2011 19:58

Fab- I think that was definitely the plan. She clearly saw how the older cats were living it up and wanted a bit of luxury too! I'm also so sorry to hear about your cat - sounds as if he is lovely and comfy for the moment.

Pinot- they are adorable! I want some.(no chance of that - all wildcat producing kittens are long gone, some were tamed others have passed on/past breeding age - Damn!!)

CestTout · 02/05/2011 20:01

Pinot- this Q&A may help:

here

CestTout · 02/05/2011 20:04

this is also good with pictures

SummerRain · 02/05/2011 20:16

I'd give it a few days if he's not showing any signs of irritation and the fur is growing back Smile

5inthebed · 03/05/2011 09:22

Aww how cute are they now they're walking!

BTW, who won the kitten olympics?

Pinot · 03/05/2011 09:27

Well it was a close run thing 5 but I have to say it was Ginger as he ended up crawling on my lap for a cuddle. Not entirely legal judging, to be sure Grin

Summer thanks again - I've rubbed in shea butter and its soaked in nicely :)
