trilpot lol at baby rice! I hear the weaning stage is super messy for kits so am enjoying the bottle stage while it lasts!!

watford thanks - Ginger does a disgusted 'sqwaa' noise to go with his indignant get-off-my-butt look Grin

5inthebed · 27/04/2011 20:24

Aww Pinot, they are so so so adorable drinking out their tiny bottles.

Glad Meow has put on weight :)

HRH, your cat is beautiful, she looks very regal Smile

I had to rescue my neighbours deaf cat today, bloody tractor driver was presuming kitty would hear him and move out of the way, he wasn't slowing down at all.. until i stepped into the road - then he had to stop.

Bastard! When i pointed out that it was the same spot where my cat was run over, he just said 'you shouldn't live in the countryside then' Hmm
Work that one out..Talk about one solitary brain cell! Hope he only grows crops, and doesn't have any animals.

Apologies.. just needed a tiny rant.. As you were ladies..

HRH,I agree - lovely dress!

Pinot · 27/04/2011 21:40

Farmer knobhead needs a right royal slapping IMO!! Idiot.

Great new photos!!

HRH, love how your cat is sleeping!!

Jellykat · 27/04/2011 22:27

You see Pinot, this is why your thread is so wonderful Smile

To see your 2 doing so well, and being cared for so lovingly, restores ones' faith in humanity, when there are so many cruel idiots about..

I'm sooooo going to be a 'mad' cat lady when i'm older (soon) and i'll throw secret 'stinger spikes' under the wheels of any vehicle, that drives too fast along my 'quiet' country road! .. Mwaahaahaaaaa ...

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 27/04/2011 22:38

They get more beautiful every day, Pinot - you must be such a proud mum!

I'm worried about a local cat at the moment - I've seen him a couple of times crossing the turning circle outside our house, and he has a nasty limp. I did manage to pick him up on monday night, and one of his front paws is all bent over to one side, and he has a wound on the side of his head - dh wondered if he'd been hit a glancing blow by a car - unfortunately he panicked and clawed his way out of my arms (ouch) and escaped over a fence into someone's garden, so we weren't able to get him to a vet.

I think he is a stray, because his fur is very harsh and rough, and because he's been limping since last thursday or before, and if he had any sort of a decent owner, they'd have taken him to a vet as soon as they saw him.

I am just hoping that he turns up again, so I can see if I can catch him - and then I guess I'll have to ring the Cats Protection, to see if they can take him and care for him. It breaks my heart, but we honestly can't afford to pay the vets bills that he is going to need - otherwise I would keep him - he is grey, with fur that looks like velvet from a distance. [csad]

Oh god oh god oh god oh god, how could I have missed this thread?? Pinot in the four years I have been on MN this is quite simply the most gorgeous thread I've ever seen, and the pictures are just beyond c.u.t.e.

Though am I the only one to think that when Meow grows up he might possibly look just the teensiest, tiniest bit like one of these

So sorry about little Rosie Sad

WuzzAndBuddy · 27/04/2011 22:48

My Mum came to visit over the Easter weekend and I didn't get on MN and I lost this thread!! But thanks to the 'KateGate' fury I found you all again! Grin

Just off to bed but will catch up in the morning.

LaWeasel · 27/04/2011 23:08

SDTG - maybe a local rescue would help if CPL won't? My beautiful kitty was hit by a car and had a broken pelvis, but a rescue paid for all his treatment before they rehomed him to us.

Jellykat · 27/04/2011 23:19

Oh No, SDTG, Hope you can catch him, poor thing.

Also try the RSPCA, they may have a surgery in your area?

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 27/04/2011 23:31

Could the Blue Cross help with vet fees? (Actually, they might help Pinot too...)

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 27/04/2011 23:41

Those are all good ideas, and I will remember them if I can get hold of the cat again - to be honest I don't even know if he is a boy or a girl (yes, I know that sounds wrong, but it is late and my brain has gone to bed before the rest of me) but when I picked him up, he did smell sort of tom-catty, if you know what I mean - but that could just be poor hygiene, I guess.

If I do manage to get him to a vet, I am planning already how to convince dh that we need another cat (not sure dcat1 will agree, or ddog, who is definitely intimidated by dcat1), and he will be Shadow if he's a boy and Misty if he's a girl.

5inthebed · 28/04/2011 09:26

Pinot, my cat looks very regal, do you not think?Grin

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 28/04/2011 09:32

She does look regal, 5inthebed, but there is also a Look in her eyes that suggests you will Pay Later for this undignified act. [cgrin]

saffronwblue · 28/04/2011 10:37

Pinot if there is any karma out there your hammock, margarita and attentive male slave must surely be on their way to you.The kittens are sweeter (and more robust looking) every day. You are doing such a great job.
I have had this terrible thought that in a few weeks the mum may pop back and present you with her next litter, because you are so good at this that she has actually selected you to raise her little ones...
