slownorris - did you get the hamster safely home? My DS has been reading mumsnet over my shoulder and is mortified!!

He has a lovely boy hamster (everything in our house is pigging male - have to check my knickers sometimes to make sure Im the only girl) called Cena (after his fav. wrestler John Cena)

maybe smelly things that sleep all day!

galaxymummy · 13/02/2008 18:14

Dear Twin mums
Held my own proper very first twins antenatal class last night. Had 5 couples and it was fun! took delivery of multiples in the womb- national geogrphic dvd today omg amazing to see what goes on , highly recommend it
Question how much weight did you guys put on when you were expecting?
Poor women made to feel fat but I say, you like like the babies are growing well.
Another question did you have 1 twin always more active than the other??
Awaiting informed response from all
galaxy not eating choc because of cold off to find another strepsil cursing dd and ds.

shabster · 13/02/2008 18:23

galaxymum - that all sounds very exciting!!

I am, at the moment, more thick than usual so please bear with me!!

I put on 18lbs carrying my twins.

I didn't find out I was having twins until I was 10 days away from delivery (delivered at 38 wks - 1981 so routine scans werent done.)

I cant really answer the second question about if one moved more than the other. I was just told I was having a single baby that weighed around 10lbs!!! Sometimes the 'baby' moved so much it would shake me about.

galaxymummy · 13/02/2008 18:25

Thanks shabster, I am excited. Are you thick with cold like me or thick in the middle (not able to fit in to swetty betty pants)
ps I thought ugly betty was swetty betty for months dd fault!!

shabster · 13/02/2008 18:27

I am thick round the middle and in the head

galaxymummy · 13/02/2008 18:33

Sorry for your ailment shabster sounds like you need some alcohol to aid sleep (says galaxy who knows there is a bottle of red open somewhere

MarsLady · 13/02/2008 18:51

Do you have a link to that video Galaxy? Sounds lovely and I'd like a copy! Very exciting about your class.

shabster · 13/02/2008 18:55

galaxy its alcohol that has made me so mental I think -

iamdingdong · 13/02/2008 18:59

hello overrun nice to see you around again

and hello everyone else too, of course

I have been in to work today, left dh with sick twins, they have pretty much run rings around him and made him buy cake and sausage rolls and crisps I meanwhile had to face comments like 'of course we moved in with my parents when ours was little so I never had to take time off' thanks then, that's helpful and supportive

galaxymummy · 13/02/2008 19:02

Dear Mars can you explain the technical bit of how to put a link in
goes off to find more red

shabster · 13/02/2008 19:27

Right, come on, hands up, who has just had a nosey at that link from galaxy?

My first grandchild (and triplets honorary grandchild) is about to make his appearance on this planet in 17 weeks so I really enjoyed the 25 week video.

MarsLady · 13/02/2008 19:32

voila!

theslownorris · 13/02/2008 19:33

Shabster,in true Blue Peter stylee,"If your ds is in the room send him out now!"

Sorry,no sign of hamster but we have left tempting treats out for her. All the animals in this household are female, apart from one guinea pig .

You'll all probably going to banish me when I tell you this, but I don't think I put on much at all with the dt's. After I gave birth I was 3 stone lighter than when I fell pregnant with them. Mind you,I was a bit of a heifer to start with .

MarsLady · 13/02/2008 19:33

or even better!

HarrogateMum · 13/02/2008 19:40

Galaxymummy - I put on about two stone with my twins and they were nearly 6lb each when they were born. AFter I had them, a bit like norris, I was a stone lighter than I had been to start with, which I put down to not boozing! Alcohol is a bugger for calories you know (sips gin and tonic).

And one was much more active than the other and this has continued into real life, he wants to go out and play, other one wants to lie on floor and stare into space.........

Evening all anyway - have been on a really interesting course today - Introduction to NEuro-LInguistic Programming.

shabster · 13/02/2008 19:40

slownorris - too late he is fascinated by mumsnet and was busy refreshing the thread (sounds painful) while I was making a brew. He advises that you should put the treats out and then - dont go to bed, wait up for her to come home.

I like the heifer comment - I have been a heifer for ages - ha ha who cares

So sn - dont forget (on the advice of a 10 yr old who thinks he has an answer for everything) DONT GO TO BED.

shabster · 13/02/2008 19:45

HM - on the apple juice that I like to sip it wont even give the calories information on the back!! HA HA. BUT - if I stop drinking it think of all those Southern jessie apple growers (they will all go bankrupt)

Trying to think of everybody but myself as always!!!

HarrogateMum · 13/02/2008 19:55

Shabster - is your apple juice cider perchance?

shabster · 13/02/2008 19:58

HM - not sure love - will check the bottle if you give me a few minutes.........

iamdingdong · 13/02/2008 19:59

I'm on the grape juice myself, v healthy NLP eh HM, that's all a bit Paul McKenna isn't it?
