I'm very confused by this new thread, will have to find the old one and catch up

HM for some reason my email is playing up - I can receive but not send - so yes I have got your email and yes I agree and once I've sussed what the problem is I'll mail you back!

HarrogateMum · 28/01/2008 19:47

Dingdong - no worries, there is no rush!

This thread is confusing me too, where has FG got to?

MarsLady · 28/01/2008 19:52

Just had a text from FG. Her DP is hogging the computer. She wanted to know the goss. She's feeling sorry for herself because tonight is not a drinking night. How does that happen? I thought that every night was drinking night?

iamdingdong · 28/01/2008 20:30

I knwo this will astound you all but I also having a booze free night please note I have managed to do this regularly all year but only once a week

HarrogateMum · 28/01/2008 20:36

dingdong - I dont believe it, you need to start building up resistance for May!!

iamdingdong · 28/01/2008 20:38

oh I don't think there'll be a problem with my ability to consume vast amounts of alcohol

piximon · 28/01/2008 21:22

I'm so excited. A real mumsnetter to talk to and more DTs to huggle. Am wondering what my DTs will make of her DTs, at the moment mine think silly things like throwing bricks is funny, but will fight to the death tug of war in rage over something silly like a cuddly hedgehog so I'm wondering if they will be in sharing mood or just think "oh sod it, more kids to swipe our toys"

Hope you girls are doing well this evening. I'm missing the odd drink esp on a cold night. All is quiet here.

My mum took DD1 back to London with her till Friday as DD1 and DS1 just won't stop fighting, so I've had quite a leisurely day with just the three to look after. Have been trying to sit down with DS1 and do some reading/writing but every time the DTs see someone at the table they assume they are eating and start begging (high pitched squeals) around their ankles!

I'm feeling like a walrus and everyone I meet is expecting the baby to pop out any minute, it's embarrassing that I still have 8wks to go

Still waiting to hear if we got the rental property we saw. We're having a nightmare with the agent, (who's nose is so stuck up her own backside it's a wonder she can breathe) as I've never needed to rent before and haven't worked since getting pg with DS1, my mum took retirement and owns property so hasn't needed to rent and DH doesn't start his new contract till Weds.

Anyhoo I'll be back tomorrow to share the delights of Doris' DTs v Pixi's DTs in the battle of the bead table.

estar · 28/01/2008 21:48

Pixi, we are all in awe of you.

And yes, what is it about trying to do reading and writing with the older one that drives the younger ones insane? DS1 has enough trouble concentrating as it is.

accordiongirl · 28/01/2008 22:25

Hello, love the new thread, so small and perfectly formed. Welcome to come find me on FB - maisie rowe. Glad you asked about this to the person who did ask - I was too shy to!

BibiThree · 28/01/2008 22:27

Evenin' all.

Okay, found a couple of you on FB but it's just too hard trailing through hundreds of people. Shall I just tell you my RL name and you can be my friend if you want? It'll just get buried in this thread and no one will stalk me, will they?

Or shall I just post my MN name on the Fb Mumsnet group? Yes, I'll do that.

accordiongirl · 28/01/2008 22:29

uh?

BibiThree · 28/01/2008 22:31

Okay, done it. If you want me, i'm a nice friend who won't bombard you with crap applications. Honest.

P.S. Mars, coudln't find you but you are expert at hunting me down

Hello all, hope all ok
Didn't get from the hospital till 6.30! my first appointment was at 3 Well it was good news yayyyyyyyyyyyyy twin a is head down I can hardly believe it lol even felt like asking for her to scan again as was such a shock. So all set for natural I'm so chuffed. I've got to go back today at 11 as my bloody pressure was a bit up and had protein so they done a blood test to check for pre-eclapsia (excuse spellin) want me to go in get results and have a check to see how faverable I am to being started off whilst there going to give me a sweep (not to impressed with that) aslong as bloods ok and not started on my own I shall be back in tursday for induction, if results not good think they will start me sooner.
Can I ask advice they told what to expect from twin delivery (i know things can change) but said about an epidural, when I went at 15wks they said they advise one just incase any probs its easy, also so if I end up needin a c-sec for sum reason I would rather be awake than asleep, I also have bad reactions to being knocked out and feel I would miss out on the first 24 hours of my babies!but unsure as have had 3 without one it appeals to me havin no pain but also worry it would slow me down so not to sure what would be for the best

Chopster · 29/01/2008 07:46

you need to have a chat with mars.

I don't personally think you should have the epidural unless you actually need it, especially after having three babies with no probs, there is no reason why you can't deliver these two without interference assistance.

Also I'm rather anti epidural anyway, I've had back problems ever since mine.

Have a chat with mars, I'm sure she will be along later. I don't think there is any reason why you should be pressurised into a sweep neither. Start on the fresh pineapple, and fingers crossed that things get moving of their own accord soon.

largeginandtonic · 29/01/2008 08:07

Kat tell them to leave you alone!!! No need to sweep you or force you in to an epidural if you dont want one.

Very glad that the baby has gone head down with 3 other children i am sure you want to avoid a c section.

Just beacause you are carrying twins it does automatically mean doom and gloom on the giving birth front. Will link some birth stories for you later. Must go and do the school nightmare run now.

Pixi helloooooo, people start making quips about me looking huge and overdue waaaay before my due date too. I think it's having babies close together, your muscles just go wahey! Not long now, hopefully you will be settled in the new house by then.

Poor FG on the no drinking front and dp hogging the puter. My dh has lots of work to do and has been puter hogging too, not stopping us having a drink though

oooggs · 29/01/2008 08:27

hi all

bibithree is it me you have found???????
only because I have had an mn friend request but they didn't put their mn name on it so I have no idea who it is

BibiThree · 29/01/2008 08:39

ExpectingKat,

That's great news! Don't have anything you don't want at this stage, but ask ask ask when you get into hospital - the benefit may be that if twin 2 gets distressed and a section becomes an emergency and putting you under would be their quickest and safest option. DD1 was an emergency section and I would have been put under if I hadn't already had an epi in place.

However at this stage there is nothing to suggest that might happen, so try for the birth you want and don't be bullied. Good luck!

Ooogs, not me sorry! I'm on the FB MUmsnet wall if you want to find me!

MERLYPUSS · 29/01/2008 09:03

Found you. Only 9 sleeps to go. Have to do a 24 hour wee collection (nice) as have high BP, protein and leukocytes whatever they are. Back to hosp tomorrow to drop off wee and have BP done and Friday for pre c/s book in and chat. Still haven't done birth plan and am assuming they will do me under local rather than general but due to epilepsy, who's to say ? They might want to knock me out?
Help me out re facebook. I am on it but can't work out how to find you guys. How do I search?

ExpectingKat · 29/01/2008 09:07

Thanx for the answers, I'm quite lucky they havn't pressured me at all for the epi its just decidin what would be for the best, If everything goes quickly I don't think it would even be an option, its just the little niggle if sumthing does happen I'm tryin to look at all avenues to be prepared, I know I can do it myself havin been there 3 times but with twins just seems to open up more possiblities. I'm going to ask when I go today how they would plan on starting me off and go from there as best I can.

KAT; Email me... mars at mammydoula dot co dot uk. I'll give you my number and we can chat.

You don't need an epi, you don't need to give birth in theatre etc etc. Also... be sure that the raised BP and any protein really is enough for any interventions. It doesn't seem to take much for us twin mums to be whisked in where a singleton mum wouldn't.

Anyhoo... have to drop the DTs off then go for a long walk with my walking partner. All I want is to go back to bed. The DTs were up alternatively last night with hacking coughs. I spent the night napping between spoons of cough mix. Sigh......... Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will catch up later. Did so much study yesterday
