Leo........... never be ashamed of bfing those beautiful boys (thanks for the photo by the way. It's gone into my album of doula babies). Very at that couple.

Has that Tracykb gone back to lurking? Do I have to come in and get you all. Hmmmmmmmmm.......... as this thread doesn't seem to be drawing out the multiple mums maybe it's time to rename and restart??????? I'll wait till later and see what happens.

Maybe FG is sulking as she didn't start it.... or worse socialising with RL people

BTW finally managed to get the babies to take the ebm from a bottle yesterday. We've been through a few bottles to find one that they will take.

oooggs · 10/06/2007 19:21

cheers mars for your list of 'stupid twin' questions. I need to oder leaflets then I can just hand them out while I am shopping - should save some time

Peachy · 10/06/2007 19:25

Ah but.....

mine are thirteen months apart yet people ask if they're twins

not so strange now really as there's barely an inch in there, but at one point DS2 was a newborn and ds1 a highly mobile toddler and people were asking

Nice scones thanx

We are home at last! Packed up 3 cars and 6 children and made the 4 hour trip back. We only stopped once for toilet\feeding break, they were all very good.

Beau is lovely i have new pics to post when i get a moment. He has RED hair, it is so sweet, he does this incredible hulk thing (except red not green) when very cross. So i have 5 blonde one red, bizzare. He is not good though, likes to be held and only goes between 10 mins and 2 hours between feeds. He can be better at night but is difficult to settle so sleep is curently running at an all time low. DH is home for next wekk then back to Plymouth on the ship

Sooooo whats been happening here? I feel like i have missed an eternity with you all.

Harrogatemum · 10/06/2007 21:25

LG&T - I have 2 x redheads - oneof the DTs and DD too! And it is really so cute, I love it!

oooggs · 10/06/2007 21:31

Ok I seem to have missed an awful lot.

LG&T many many belated congrats. Beau is a lovely name and he looks gorgeous.

Can't believe how quickly the time flies. Weeks are whizzing by and I seem hardly able to keep up. We finally have wheels. DH is now working full time in Maidenhead. He leaves before 7am and gets home around 9pm so we hardly see each other and he only has weekends with the DCs. I'd got used to him helping me of a morning so having to get a new routine going. DS1 has gone off the rails completely and I'm at a loss as to what to do with him. The DTs are great. Growing nicely and really sweet natured which makes life easier.

Mars, DH needs to pop to your neck of the woods to get his watch repaired and says he's planning to pop round yours, drop the DCs off and run, well drive, off very fast.

Anyway it's nearly midnight and I should be in bed early for once this week.

Forgot to say hello to all the new people.

In response to the thread title I constantly get asked:
"Are they twins" yes
"Really?" yes
"well one is bigger than the other" yes
"are they both boys?" no, one of each
"identical?" no, one of each.
Then they want all the ins and outs and always, always have to make the "you've got your hands full comment" nah it's easy.
I had a woman going on and on that she'd hate to have twins especially after having other children as having just one was hard work. I said "well I asked for it so I couldn't complain". "Oh IVF babies" she said sympathetically, the "no I had sex" comment shut her up.

nappyaddict · 11/06/2007 00:40

i had friends at school who were twins but had different birthdays (1 31st aug and 1 1st sept) so were actually in diff years. (i know bizarre, you'd have thought they'd make an exception) anyway people never believe that they were twins even though they were actually identical!!

my friends got 2 yo twins (non identical). when they were born they looked nothing alike but now they actually look identical. when she tells them they aren't people look at her as if she is lying to them!!

my cousin who has 5 yo twins gets the opposite. hers are identical but look quite different!

when i had them i hated the are they twins .... duuuuuuuh. are they identical .. again duuuuuuuuh (they looked identical as newborns) then are they boys or girls - ummm dressed head to toe in blue you tell me.

saying that my friend had a girl who she had thought was a boy and she wore a lot of blue in the beginning.

i can understand why people would ask non-identical older twins if they were twins or not, cos its sometimes hard to tell. but not newborns or identical ones!!

Harrogatemum · 11/06/2007 08:33

Ladies - I need your help. I am going back to work on Wednesday 3 days per week full days.....

DD was a wonderful sleeper who did 7 until 7 aged 3 months. However from about 4.5 months she started waking really early, about 5am instead. She has since been weaned and is on 3 small meals a day......however for the last month she has woken at approx 12-1am for a feed and then up at about 5.30am. Its wearing me and DH out and I just dont know how I will cope when I have to work as well.........any ideas on what I can do....???

speedymama · 11/06/2007 09:59

My DTS are 3yo now and we're still asked if they are twins. One has blue eyes fair hair and the other brown eyes and brown hair. People are so confused when they see them. Hee-hee.

largeginandtonic · 11/06/2007 11:16

Be mean HM, just offer her water between 12-1 and then settle her back in her cot. Tell her "night, night" and leave the room. Same as in the morning, just tell her it's still sleeping time and leave the room. It will be rough on you for a few nights but should pay off in the end. Im a bit mean when it comes to bedtimes so feel free to ignore me

Wish the baby would wake up my left boob is massive and hurting. He was up 3 times in the night but did settle quite well si im hoping he is going to improve. DH back to work next week and i dont fancy no sleep and then a school run to contend with.

I have lost 2 stone in 2 weeks.....shame i still have another 1 and a half to go. Why oh why did i eat all those Krispy Kreme donuts.......
