C'mon girls. Got bored of waiting and started the new thread!

Leoladyofleisure · 14/06/2007 09:03

is it a tv program (then no), or a magazine or something?
If you are pregnant it could only be a day or two surely you wouldn't have symptons so early. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Leoladyofleisure · 14/06/2007 09:03

I'm off now, will try to get back this evening.

glamourbadger · 14/06/2007 09:23

Goodness me, you are night owls! I got bored waiting for my pina colada last night and went to bed.

Leoladyofleisure - Freya does fab swimsuits for big boobied women and not a granny in sight! They sell in a few places on the high st too, inc Debenhams.

Well last night was officially the worst night since DTs were new...DT2 settled quite easily compared to previous nights, but woke up screaming at 11.30 and only settled when OH went in and slept on the floor. I couldn't stand the constant screaming "MUMMMMMEEEEEE" and was sobbing with my head under the pillow trying to block it out. She finally went to sleep but I was so wound up wondering what I've done to make this happen, when she used to be so good, that I had only just got to sleep when she woke again around 4 and then again at 5.20 when DT1 woke up screaming ( that she'd managed to sleep through it up till then) and so she came in with me whilst OH went back on the floor. But DT1 was wide awake. So I've basically been up all night. Due AF tomorrow, so hormonal anyway, so will be crying at the drop of a hat today! Have decided to call in the big guns - have rung a sleep consultant who has really helped us in the past with DTs sleeping (or not) habits.

One sort of funny thing...OH had to have his ears syringed yesterday. He'd slowly been getting more and more deaf and couldn't hear at all out of one ear and so hadn't realised quite how bad the screaming was at night. The whole evening he was constantly saying 'wow this is amazing, I can't believe how clear and loud everything is'. Well he certainly knows how loud the screaming is now . At one point we could hear people chatting in next door's garden and I'm quite surprised they didn't call the police.

I just feel so awful that it could be because she doesn't like going to nursery (although, despite being a bit clingy when I drop her off, the staff all say she's fine and has a great time and is happy when I pick her up). But at the same time, I've got a few hours to myself every week for the first time in over 2 years which I really need but now I'm feeling selfish that I've maybe pushed her too soon. But then what would I do about DT1 who's really settled well at nursery and absolutely loves it. Don't know what to do...sorry for rambling, just need to vent a bit.

MarsLady · 14/06/2007 12:28

Honey... you leave them at nursery. It's probably not that at all. She could be having night terrors. DT1 has them for a while. Next door had guests who very seriously considered calling the police as they were convinced that we were murdering DT1.

Hope the sleep consultant works out for you.

I'm off to Stratford upon Avon today. Staying with a gorgeously lovely MNer who is giving me a bed for the night... but more than that. As well as picking me up from the station she's going to deliver me to the theatre, have supper out with her DD or visit her DSis, then she's going to pick me up and take me back to hers. I love love love MN.

wow that is wonderful mars.

Tkband1, how long have they been goign to nursery? Mine are only now starting to settle, and they've been there since after easter! I really thought they were never going to get used to it, and also felt a bit selfish, so I know what you mean. Now they seem to be enjoying it a bit more, and are learning loads, I feel much better.

Agree about the night terrors, mine had them. It was a relatively short phase, and tbh, I would jsut go and comfort them, I don't think it does any harm, and mine would settle down fairly quickly. My problem was fighting off dp's family, whose rather odd solution was insisiting I put nails under their cots. Hopefully your sleep consultant will be more helpful!

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 16:20

If its any help, my DTs go to nursery 2 days and one is settled fine and one struggles and is clingy and prefers home. BUT, we all need a little space and, in the end, its what keeps us able to deal with the other stuff. The sleep book might help you diagnose the problem, as Mars said, it could be night terrors. My DD1 has begun sleepwalking and screaming and crying whilst she's doing it. She set our alarm off the other night. I'm currently beating myself up because I'm convinced its because I shout or because I rush her to school or because I don't spend enough calm time with her on her own or, or, or.......its not us. It will change again, you just need to get through the bit until it does.

Mars, heavenly!

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 17:06

I bagged a newbie......lippy on, stand to attention, hide the LDC behind the fruit bowl

inamuckingfuddle · 14/06/2007 17:26

I've got the wine open FG, don't panic

Went to London for a conference yesterday, up at an ungodly hour, crept out of the house without a sound leaving DH to get the DTs off to nursery...the yhad such a strop when they found I wasn't there (even tho I'd warned them and got everything ready) that he had to bribe them with choc biccies just to get them out of bed men

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 18:39

dingdong, right up there with you on both counts

I've had two glasses of white and the bottle ran out . Do I open a bottle of red or pour an ice cold g+t?

Talking of g+t, where is that gal? I haven't had a hold of that baby yet.........

Mars, what are you seeing at the theatre? Of course, she won't answer, she's already on the adventure.......

MarsLady · 14/06/2007 18:48

No I'm not on the bloody adventure. Cocked up the trains.

So am home again kicking myself! It starts in 10 mins

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 19:00

Right, you're on! Get the curtains billowing for me! DP is in London right now with an hour to spare, I should have got his location and just let you loose on him, you could have told him everything and he would have come home a new man

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 19:01

well, yours looked so good I couldn't refuse myself......

MarsLady · 14/06/2007 19:26

If you didn't have this online persona so well covered you could've sent DP my way. I'd have laden him down (not thrown him down... behave ladies) with LDC.

Of course I'd've had to put on my turquoise tassles ... esp as HDaddy doesn't visit any more!

OP posts:
frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 19:30

He loves tassles. Shame I can only sling the curtain tie backs on when I'm getting frisky

elifay · 14/06/2007 19:40

I'm reading this thread and laughing...I am an identical twin and even at 25, there is not one day that goes by that we don't either get asked if we are twins (i mean, we could not look more alike...) or other comments like: «Do you sometimes feel what your sister is felling? «Did your husband/partner ever get mixed up (??!!)» «Did your mama cry when she found out she was having twins»...etc....And to my poor sis...«Do your kids look like your sister's kids?» when she says she has no kids yet...«NO!!! How come your sister does and not you?» HAHAHA...Are twins supposed to do everything at the same time ALL the time...We sometimes feel like freak shows...
But love being twins anyway...Nothing better in the world!!

By the way, my daughter looks exactly like my twin...even more than she looks like me...Weird isn't it?

Is it just me or the ones asking all those «twin questions» are always old ladies

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 19:41

what were you going to see? should I really have a g+t? and other important questions

frumpygrumpy · 14/06/2007 19:42

elifay is is always old dears

in fact, when I'm an old dear I'm going to pluck out my copy of this thread and recite it to every person I pass who has/is twins

MarsLady · 14/06/2007 19:43
