Ok..my 9 and 8 year old boys look like twins, but my 6 year old boy twins do not look related in anyway.
So i say 'no' when asked if the older 2 are twins (obviously) but i go on to say these 2 are twins (the twins)....people just go quiet and say oh, and walk away, i am certain they think i have it wrong.....as if i wouldn't know.

The younger twins do look related to each other...and not one single one of them look anything like me!

Mine have started joking amongst themselves about who are twins and who isn't. Next time i am asked i will leave it to the boys to answer. haha that will be funny to watch.

me

(name change, i am really twinmummyx2)

missgriss · 08/06/2007 13:23

I've been asked on a couple of occasions if my dd and ds are twins. Er...no! DS (2.1) is on the 99th centile for height and DD (nearly 14 months) is on the 9th. Plus there is a difference of about 10lbs in weight!

I never thought of them getting comments at school about me and DH's sex life before. Oh well..

oooggs · 08/06/2007 21:58

Hi KHIN can't believe you can work. I am just holding house and childcare together.

Yes am now doing Tesco online and it is fab. The way Jack is growing people will soon stop asking if they are twins

Hope you doing ok.

mylittleimps · 08/06/2007 22:17

mine are 18mths apart and eldest very tall for age and have been asked from ds2 being 6mths if they are twins! and am forever being told that they do look alike and don't they both look like their daddy....

MarsLady · 08/06/2007 23:03

Welcome to all you singleton mums/dads. Who knew when I chose this d'ya ever thread that there would be so much response from non twin parents. Excellent!

ooogggssssss.... sorry babe! It goes on for fricking ever! The easiest thing is to print out a wee leaflet and hand that out to people as they ask.

Don't forget to include:

Details of your sex life
Whether or not you used IVF (or HIV lol)
How many sets of twins you have in the family going back 20 generations
Whether or not they are identical
Whether or not it was a BOGOF (buy one get one free) deal
Whether or not they were born at the same time
Whether they are double trouble or double blessing
Whether or not you planned to have twins
When you knew it was twins
And whether or not your family is complete

That should keep them going till your next trip outdoors!

So ladies.... how's it going? We seem a bit short on numbers. It's not the holidays is it?

Where's FG and Chopster and Estar etc......... (yes I know I've missed loads of you out.. but I'm knackered... cut a girl some slack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I get 'are they twins?'

'yes'

'oooh and witch one is the oldest?'

'this one by 12 minutes, cant you tell?'

totaleclipse · 08/06/2007 23:19

lmao @ 'did you plan to have twins'

MarsLady · 08/06/2007 23:19

Now momma... this thread so far isn't typical. However, there are a lot of multiple mums on here (some even have triplets.... we bow down in awe of them).

I have g/b DTs aged 3yrs 4months. They are the youngest of my 5 children, but before you are blown away with the magnitude of my family keep an eye out for lg&t and Idobelieveinfairies. They make my family look tiny!

OP posts:
NormaStanleyFletcher · 08/06/2007 23:21

Haven't read this all but I know a woman who has triplets. People always ask her if they are natural (ie or IVF)

She aparently replies that 'no they are aliens'

Once yours are born you'll truly understand the awe

It's good to have some more DTs that are still under construction. Makes us twin mums all broody and slightly jealous and then we all run scared as we remember what it was like. lol

Now.... what you'll read on the d'ya threads may sometimes scare you, but remember that you are truly blessed to be pg with DTs and that there is a lot of joy to be had. But don't buy Toilet Duck!

The DTs decided that child-proof bottles aren't as child-proof as they pretend. They opened on all over DD1's bedroom. Over the carpet, over the bed. Then they swam in it. Two green elves came downstairs to find me.

I smelt inside their mouths, but they hadn't drunk any. Just swam in it. The other multiple mums almost fainted (the ones with DTs younger than mine) and the pregnant multiple mums cried.

Ah yes............... currently my wee beasts don't do the toilet thing anymore. They raid the cupboards for cereal, pour ReadyBrek all over the lounge carpet and down the sofas and for good measure they like to take the Radox out and pour it over the carpet to look like a mountain and add a little (or lot) water! Sigh...............

But don't worry... I'm sure I have stories of pure joy to share

Because DT2(b) is bigger than DT1(g) people often say.... "ooh you had them close together didn't you?" To which I reply... "Not really. They're 4 minutes apart!" Gets them every time!

I met a flght attendant who was sooo lovely with the kids that I said that he must have kids too. He said yes, 5. I said, how old he said, 17 and 18. I said huh?!? He explained that when he was 16 (!) he and his then girlfriend (now wife) had twins. The night they were born (oh youth, how i miss it), they celebrated and 9 months later they had triplets. And they are still married. Wow. That's real irish twins/triplets.

SofiA !

Hello Mommalove !

I had another of 'those' days yesterday! Was out with my friend with her 6 months old ds, poor love, people seem oblivious to his existence when my dts catch their eye!
She quite often sits with one of my dts and her ds on her knee while I am feeding the other, that really confuses people as they realise we have 3 babies between us but can't quite wokr it out that we have twins.

I was fuming yesterday and really prepared to have a fight with someone. We sat down at a restaurant outside - 4 person table and some over dressed (i.e. v. expensive) retired couple wrestled their way in to sit at the table as well(they actuallytried to push us off it ). friend went to get us food, I turned my back, blanket over my shoulder and very discreetly started feeding dt, she said in disgust 'she is breastfeeding', looked at me in complete disgust turned to the man, rolled her eyes and shook her head in disgust! That is the first time I have ever had any negativity towards me bfing in public. Stupid COW!!!!!!!!!

Leoladyofleisure · 09/06/2007 08:30

SofiA - that was supposed to be a !
