I'm feeling poorly and sorry for myself todays so wallowing in self-pity

Morning girls another early start..........one bad lad didnt come home last night, stayed at his friends and txt me late to say hes not doing his paper round, the other slept in and I had to get him up, dk got moody last night with me, and now Ive got dds cold........and its Sunday, my least fav day of the week!

oh that's easy.......I would like to go up to my local Tesco.............and sit down with Sheena my friend who works at the Virgin store there. I would then book flights to San Francisco, hire a Dodge car, flight back from LA or Vegas, probably go for a month! Then I would come home and spend the day on here deciding on our route and researching quirky accommodation. That's what Id</strong> do. The reality is after b/fast I need to clean the bathroom, visit my dear friend who has dementia, do the ironing then get Sunday lunch ready......guess which Id rather do??

My simple pleasure in life is reading......I devour everything. So I love to sit on the floor next to my woodburner, depending on the time of day a glass of Prosecco and a bowl of Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds......perfect! I have had a love affair with those almonds since 1991, our first visit to California. My pen pal who lives in Modesto took us to the Blue Diamond farm, never forgotten it. Karen sometimes sends me over a jar, horrendous postage! Two weeks ago a package arrived from my best friend in Cornwall. Two large bags of them from Nicaragua where she has her own island!

My mumsnet has gone all weird. It's only showing me a couple of posts on our thread.

Oh well. Hope you are all well. Enjoy your reading trips. I perhaps should read more for pleasure but lately I've been introducing emily to fairy tales, other than the Disney version! It's amazing really. She knows the stories and I used to read from my childhood books. But because Disney is so big, she's started thinking that is the 'proper' outfit or pet or whatever when we start talking about costumes for world book day - she wants to be rapunzel. I can get her a lovely medieval type dress off eBay for £10, in the UK. Or I can spend a fortune on a UK Disney one. Or take a risk and hope a cheap Chinese Disney one turns up not a chance are the xmas fiasco

Kids are happy. It snowed last night and is currently flurrying. I haven't the heart to tell them the snow is frozen solid (according to dh who has already gone to work).

Mine are already out in it playing snowballs. Not that deep here, but enough for them to throw it at each other. And straight down the hallway when someone opened the front door!

DS1 and DT1 to the GPs today. Hoping to get a referral for dt1's bedwetting and ds1 bowel issues are getting worse.

Yep, stayed up to watch the superbowl. Then had yesterday off with dh, and we went for a pub lunch

Not deep enough to do anything with here :( although Joshua did lay in the already trampled solid snow on the way home from preschool and try to do a snow angel:) )

I'm knackered. Joshua broke my lovely giant glass tea light holder. I am fed up with not being able to have nice things because they get broken. I am fed up of being used as a punchbag (physical and verbal) because James simply cannot put into words how he is feeling, or why he feels like that.

Morning .......drank both G&Ts, ate all the nuts............ Soks hope your day is better than y/day! Got one of my lovely brothers in hospital, poor thing seems to have inherited every illness my parents had. He has Chrons, asthma, diabetes and blocked arteries in his legs. He had surgery on the 29th Dec to repair a tear when they removed a catheter, its become infected so he has been on ABs for two weeks, he has had a reaction to them, its caused him liver problems so they have taken him into hospital :(
And I complain at times!

Oh Trips - your poor brother.....my DK has inherited the diabetes 'thing' from his Dad....his Dad was one of 13 (I think) boys and they all developed diabetes as they got older. He inherited a bad temper and a 'nasty tongue' off his Mam

Hi Shabs, sil phoned this evening to say he is hoping to come home tomorrow late afternoon if his bloods improve. It seems there main concern is his type 2 diabetes. He has never really taken it seriously, but apparently he has been told today he now has to go on to insulin for the rest of his life. They have put a picc line in his arm as he will be on antibiotics still for the next two weeks for the infection. He is carrying on as he wants to be home in time for the rugby!!

Are you sure trips? Been wishing the year away again have you? Hope you brother is feeling better now and is home. My dad is diabetic and I'm amazed he's not insulin dependent yet. He's so careless and it drives mum potty. She feels like she's micromanaging him and in return he just complains about what he's getting to eat and being nagged at to eat regularly.

Twins are being great monsters at the moment. Jen was truly adorable yesterday. I took her to the city centre for shopping (needed some rubber gloves and I love Lakeland ones). We did escalators! I was slightly concerned but after doing the first one, she was like a little pro getting on and off . She held my hand most of the time (was also on reins) which is brilliant. Usually she screams that you're hurting her, even when you've barely a grip. She got a balloon from the bank as they were collecting outside. That was fun bouncing it everywhere! I think I finally got her to forget it when I went I had to go to the toilet.

Joshua has taken to missing me terribly, in a good way. When I picked him up from preschool he rushed over, threw his arms around my legs and declared he had missed me so much. Then shot off to play again. He's also telling me he loves me when I snuggle him up at night. Adorable little munchkin.
