PIP REVIEW, STILL WAITING!

Dh's PIP award is due to end in April this year. We received a review form which I completed and returned by due date of 20th September 2024. I sent it tracked so know they received it, it was a large package as I included lots of evidence. We still haven't heard anything, payments are still going in to the bank account but I'm worried as what will happen when we get to the end of the award date in April. It was granted for three years and the three years will be up in April. We are Preston, Lancashire area. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi all I'm new to this. Had my assessment review phone call yesterday. 1hour 30 min call. My original award is Higher DL and nothing for mobility but my needs have well and truly changed. I'm expecting/hoping to now meet the criteria for High Mobility. My review forms has been in since April 2024. Does anyone know if I do get awarded higher mobility will I get any back dated payments with me not having that part originally? Am I right in thinking it will get back dated from when review forms were sent out?

My original award was extended and was meant to run out last year.

I THINK it should be backdated but not sure, as it would apply from when you did the forms. maybe someone else will know.

Hi payment had just not been made today. No warning, got the usual annual letter a few days ago. Just stopped. We’ve had no renewal, I’ve rung them at Christmas and again and sent an update - just told to wait for the renewal forms.

It sounds like you need to ring them and find out what is going on.

I had a letter this morning saying my claim has been extended for a year

I just got the letter like that yesterday.

I wonder how on earth they cope with all the paperwork, apparently there are 1000 new claims for PIP every day! And that is before all the reviews, and must be loads of them too because they keep giving people short awards like e.g. 2 years with the review starting a year before in some cases.

Still it is a mess of their own making, surely they must have realised this on producing this 'system'

My claims due too end in September 2025 so that would take me over and it being extended but I’m unsure knowing my luck I’m be reviewed in record time and it being taken away with all the cuts etc

If you haven’t scored 4 points you’d be better having a review sooner rather than later, before the changes come into play

They are not coping. Reviews are being constantly extended for some people, and the backlog is immense. They give some people with chronic life long conditions ridiculous 2, or 3 year awards etc. They are wasting money hand, over fist, by not awarding correctly, and people having to take them to the tribunal. I think that the Government is being very shortsighted in what they are proposing, and are not looking ahead to see that if they go ahead with their proposals, it will end up costing them a lot more. Not to mention the NHS, when scores of people will end up needing more care, and hospitalisation.

They should have stuck with DLA, ironically I think PIP was supposed to save money. Instead it has turned into this palaver.

GoNoSixx · 03/04/2025 09:14

I called pip just now as I reciveved a letter yesterday saying they have all they need now to look at my renewal and make a decision. The guy on the phone said no decision yet but my renewal is at the last point and should have a decision within the next week. So if I haven't heard anything via text message by Friday 11th to give them a call back for a update.

Going to be a stressful week waiting to see what the outcome is 🙏

Caitlyn59 · 03/04/2025 17:56

Hey no not yet i did call last week and she said roughly 8 weeks for a decision so who knows... she did say i will receive a text message from dwp when a decision has been made.

itsgettingweird · 13/04/2025 11:03

when my da award ended Feb we got a letter saying payments would continue for up to a year as review wasn’t completed yet.

Then in the May we got a award for another 4 years.

They don’t stop it because they’ve not completed the review.

Caitlyn59 · 13/04/2025 11:23

@GoNoSixx hi said same to me when phoned on Friday

Orangesandlemons77 · 14/04/2025 13:46

I sent forms off in feb my claim ends in September regardless of the assessment will I receive my money till September or will it be stopped before then?

Cal91 · 14/04/2025 21:35

Orangesandlemons77 · 01/04/2025 17:30

I just got the letter like that yesterday.

When did your review start?

Hi , have you had any decision yet as my assessment was same date as yours .

LakieLady · 16/04/2025 14:57

I helped a client with a review form in March last year. They rang me this morning to tell me that they've just had a payment of £3k plus land in their a/c, saying it's DWP PIP. They haven't had a letter from DWP or anything

I suspect the review has uprated their award and the increase has been backdated, but the poor client is frightened of spending it in case it's a mistake!

When did your review start?

April 2024

Orangesandlemons77 · 17/04/2025 17:27

Had a letter mid review saying they think my condition is something different to what it was last time, so I have sent it on. No idea if it will be there in time given their time they take processing things

Does anyone know if this is a change in circumstances for PIP please? I am worried they will use this to turn me down.
