PIP REVIEW, STILL WAITING!

Dh's PIP award is due to end in April this year. We received a review form which I completed and returned by due date of 20th September 2024. I sent it tracked so know they received it, it was a large package as I included lots of evidence. We still haven't heard anything, payments are still going in to the bank account but I'm worried as what will happen when we get to the end of the award date in April. It was granted for three years and the three years will be up in April. We are Preston, Lancashire area. Does anyone have any advice?

Yes you can get daily living for depression if it's severe. I think it took a couple of weeks for the decision letter

Cal91 · 20/06/2025 16:54

Hi I’m on the standard daily now but hoping for enhanced as have been diagnosed with major depression order

Glitterandsparklesgirl · 20/06/2025 17:05

@Cal91 it's not based on diagnosis it’s based on the activities on the form and how well you can do them

Glitterandsparklesgirl · 20/06/2025 17:05

@Orangesandlemons77 did you end up doing an MR for the duration? I’m considering it as only have two years suggested, I’m sure I read that you can but it could effect the award

Orangesandlemons77 · 20/06/2025 17:12

I was going to do an MR as they gave a short award and took away some of it but changed my mind and rang them today.

I was worried like you mention they might look at it all again and take other points away. Stressful isn't it. They did add a year on to the 18 months, I suppose which makes it a little bit better.

I think I just need to out it out of my head a bit, what with the news on the PIP cuts as well it's been stressing me out. At least I know what us going on for the next couple of years..

Glitterandsparklesgirl · 20/06/2025 17:20

@Orangesandlemons77 yeah I get it, I feel the same way, it would suck to MR and then lose an element, like you say two years is at least some head space

Orangesandlemons77 · 20/06/2025 17:34

I really wasn't sure what to do as they had reduced 4 point areas to 2, but I will just need to tackle that if it comes up again- as it will likely as they will go by the previous report. But that is not for a while yet at least.

You might find they add on another year, like they did with me

Good to hear they will hopefully use the same evidence and not class it as out of date. I can't face gathering all that evidence together again, I was hoping to have at least another couple of years before I had to start getting evidence together again!

They will use the evidence you sent in. You shouldn't have to re submit. Unless something has changed.

There is a massive backlog as people have said country wide. I hope you are sorted now. Maybe keep copies of everything you send including the form so you just regurgitate it if needed.

You can combine 2 or more descriptors and add those together to take you over the 4 points needed. So for example can you cook a meal .. yes but with aids and help = 2 points. Can you wash yourself yes but with aids. = 2 points. Added together you get the 4 points. Iyswim

Queenanne20 · 25/06/2025 15:38

I thought you are going to have to get 4 points in an individual descriptor? If you are adding them together with other descriptors (as per a previous posters example of 2 + 2),
surely that's what we already do now?

@Queenanne20 so do I, that’s what it says on every news article you need 4 points on one question to qualify and 8 for an award

Cal91 · 29/07/2025 13:55

Hi I got the text saying my decision has been made to wait 2 weeks for letter in the post I’ve had no offer of a assessment tho

This is for a review not a new claim

I am on enhanced mobility but due to other medical issues I applied for basic daily living. My decision was to be 8 weeks. 4 weeks after waiting I received a call that they didn't have enough information, so I would have to do the telephone interview again! Now, after waiting another 4 weeks, they sent me a message stating I would have an answer in 2 weeks. I just called PIP to find out that not only are they not giving me the daily living expenses, but they have also cut off my enhanced mobility that I was given earlier this year with the guarantee of 10 years. What is going on with PIP? I am so stressed out now.

Unfortunately that’s the risk you take when you do a change of circumstances. Make sure you put in a written mandatory reconsideration and challenge them using your previous evidence that got the enhanced mobility.

Im in the same dilemma my review was up and had to be returned in may but I extended it as needed one of my friends to fill my review forms for me and put all the updates regarding my health , ive been waiting for 5 months and ive called them three times and they have said it is on hold , but my payments will continue but said it probably be extended till 2026 , but not stating how long for . I have severe anxiety and chronic depression and I also experience severe panic attacks so im thinking all sorts !
Is anybody else in the same dilemma?

Please can someone help me ?

Thankyou

Update all - you will think I’m nuts for this I’m sure and I doubted myself too, but although I got an increased award, after 18month-ish waiting for the assessment, they only did it from the date of the assessment. I did a mandatory reconsideration for it to be backdated to the date I received my review paperwork. I won and just got the backpay.
