PIP REVIEW, STILL WAITING!

Dh's PIP award is due to end in April this year. We received a review form which I completed and returned by due date of 20th September 2024. I sent it tracked so know they received it, it was a large package as I included lots of evidence. We still haven't heard anything, payments are still going in to the bank account but I'm worried as what will happen when we get to the end of the award date in April. It was granted for three years and the three years will be up in April. We are Preston, Lancashire area. Does anyone have any advice?

So after my assessment last Wednesday, I requested a copy of the report on Friday, it was delivered just now and the assessor has suggested 2 yr 0 month review and for my award to stay the same. Hopefully the DM goes with her report and recommendations and I'll be back here again in just over a year 🫣😫😅

bagheera92 · 19/03/2025 19:26

I called up today, claim due to end mid April. The advisor said it’s a 33 week back log. But I was flustered and forgot to ask is that 33 weeks from when they recieve the review forms or 33 from when your claim is due to end

Orangesandlemons77 · 22/03/2025 08:50

I rang up about mine yesterday and they said it was in a queue waiting to be seem by an assessment provider (so I think a medical professional) I asked how long it would be and they couldn't tell me.

Queenanne20 · 27/03/2025 15:43

Just received a letter today saying as award is due to end in April and they haven't reviewed it yet, it's been awarded for a further year to allow them time to review it. Has anyone else had a letter like this and, if so, how longer after did it take them to do the review?

Nothing here yet op and my claim is due to end similar time to your husbands

Orangesandlemons77 · 27/03/2025 16:30

Not had a letter like that and mine is due to end 15 April, did get a general letter about benefits amounts changing today after April though, due to end of the tax year.

bagheera92 · 28/03/2025 20:22

@Queenanne20if you don’t mind me asking what date in April is your husbands claim due to end? Mine is the 25th. I’m thinking my extended for a year letter should arrive roughly same time as yours .
im always still worried because in that year I am still wishing on the review so not a sod we can relax a bit even though its extended for a year !

Queenanne20 · 28/03/2025 20:32

@bagheera92Apologies, I'm having problems with tagging people on this new app! My husband's pip award is due to end on the 20th April, they obviously don't anticipate completing the review by then hence them sending the letter awarding it for a year. I know exactly how you feel, we won't be able to relax until the proper review is done as I think that letter saying we've got it for a year doesn't mean a thing!

Hi I’m in Manchester also does anyone know roughly the wait times for a review I sent my forms off last month feb 2025 it’s sending me crazy the wait

PocketSand · 31/03/2025 15:27

11 months with nothing and then a letter saying award would stand for another year due to backlog. I suspect the existing awards with enhanced need are being shelved. Plus those with evidence of increased need.

But Rachel Reeves is taking about frequent face to face assessment! I don’t think they have communicated with DWP staff.

BobbyBiscuits · 31/03/2025 15:30

There's a humongous backlog. The award will be extended indefinitely till his forms reach the top of the pile I'd imagine. My forms were sent off in early 2023. Award extended now three times. As far as I'm concerned as long as they keep paying me I don't want anything to do with them! I've been on it for about seven years.

Yeah I don’t mind as long as I’m paid still I suffer bad anxiety I keep thinking I’m going too get reviewed in record time just the way my brain works unfortunately

My claims due too end in September 2025 so that would take me over and it being extended but I’m unsure knowing my luck I’m be reviewed in record time and it being taken away with all the cuts etc

Phase2 · 31/03/2025 18:20

I’ve had no communication and ours ended December. Still being paid and I’ve rung to update and also sent tracked info as well. Really odd.

@Phase2 did they give you a time frame of when you’ll be seen?

ValentinesGranny · 31/03/2025 19:10

Review due Nov 23
Forms received November 22
Sept 23, extended by a year to September 24.
Received text... assessment complete - Jan 24 (no call, assesment etc).
Feb 24 awarded enhanced on both. Asked for copy of assessor's report, told there hadn't been one generated because it didn't go to an outside assessment company (e.g ATOS or whoever), and was all done 'in-house at DWP by a decision maker.

Orangesandlemons77 · 31/03/2025 19:31

I have had a letter saying it's extended for a year. Have been on it since 2014 and on the higher rate.

Maybe you missed getting a letter extending it I would ring them and check

Three times blimey! It's quite stressful this in limbo feeling. Mine was a six year award so not had to deal with them for quite a while. I'm thinking if they give me a shorter one next time I'll appeal the award length as find it all really stressful.

Good luck to the Government trying to sort out the mess that is the PIP system, is all I can say.

Nope we haven’t had renewal forms yet

Differentstarts · 31/03/2025 22:28

I wish the government understood how stressful this all is i ended up overdosing and needing 2 months of work while sorting out my pip. My award ends in about a year so expecting a renewal form at anytime and it honestly makes me feel sick even thinking about it.

Phase2 · 01/04/2025 07:11

Hi payment had just not been made today. No warning, got the usual annual letter a few days ago. Just stopped. We’ve had no renewal, I’ve rung them at Christmas and again and sent an update - just told to wait for the renewal forms.

Dh11 · 01/04/2025 11:47

Hi all I'm new to this. Had my assessment review phone call yesterday. 1hour 30 min call. My original award is Higher DL and nothing for mobility but my needs have well and truly changed. I'm expecting/hoping to now meet the criteria for High Mobility. My review forms has been in since April 2024. Does anyone know if I do get awarded higher mobility will I get any back dated payments with me not having that part originally? Am I right in thinking it will get back dated from when review forms were sent out?

My original award was extended and was meant to run out last year.
