PIP REVIEW, STILL WAITING!

Dh's PIP award is due to end in April this year. We received a review form which I completed and returned by due date of 20th September 2024. I sent it tracked so know they received it, it was a large package as I included lots of evidence. We still haven't heard anything, payments are still going in to the bank account but I'm worried as what will happen when we get to the end of the award date in April. It was granted for three years and the three years will be up in April. We are Preston, Lancashire area. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm regretting sending in that letter now, It says things like I seemed motivated and articulate, I know how PIP can twist things, I spoke fast etc (on a high dose of prozac). I guess I will just have to wait and see what they say.

Joined mums net just to respond to you 😂@GoNoSixx You are in a very similar situation to myself!

  • Initial 3 year award was due to end Aug 24 for standard rate on both.
  • Got review papers Dec 23.
  • Sent review papers back Jan 24.
  • Had it automatically extended to Aug 25 due to backlog.
  • Had telephone assessment Friday 04 April 25, I had an advocate on call with me from Fightback 4 Justice.
  • Got text following Tuesday morning to say they had received the report.
  • Requested a copy of assessors report. This recommends standard daily living an increase to enhanced mobility but only 2 years, despite stating this is a life long condition and the impacts can’t be reversed 🥹 But I’m just happy she scored enough to receive anything, I’d convinced myself with all the changes at the moment it would be removed as I work!

Now waiting on decision and obsessing over it.

Two questions if anyone can help -

  1. Are DWP likely to agree with the assessor?
  2. If they do agree, is there a possibility there may be backdated payment for the increase? Again though, just happy to receive it if I get it! Never expected to get it first time either as had been turned down previously.

Thanks!

Hi
Anyone had a decision from a recent assessment.

Not me, 3 weeks post assessment. Called and said decision hadn’t been made yet.

Has anyone else?

GoNoSixx · 03/04/2025 09:14

I called pip just now as I reciveved a letter yesterday saying they have all they need now to look at my renewal and make a decision. The guy on the phone said no decision yet but my renewal is at the last point and should have a decision within the next week. So if I haven't heard anything via text message by Friday 11th to give them a call back for a update.

Going to be a stressful week waiting to see what the outcome is 🙏

Have you had anything yet? Hope all went well!

Same, how long have you been waiting since your assessment now?

Queenanne20 · 30/04/2025 12:46

I'm still waiting. Originally awarded till April 25, had to submit review by September 24, had a letter a few weeks ago saying that PIP extended another year to give them chance to assess it as backlog. I phoned last week and was told it hasn't even been passed onto the assessors yet!

I haven't had an assessment yet, been waiting a year then had a text saying they are looking at it about a month ago.

Maybe you’ll be a look one with a paper assessment!

Queenanne20 · 30/04/2025 18:18

{mention:Disneybride}{mention:Disneybride}Wow@DisneybrideWow I hope it doesn't take that long as I'm concerned about hitting the time when the new 4 point rule comes into force. (Apologies, since new app I'm having problems when tagging people).

Oh I hope so. Finding it all so stressful. I have had to appeal twice in the past, been on it since 2014.

This is my first review and with all the news at the moment it’s really stressful! Just got a letter in post dated 22nd saying they have all the info they need and will make a decision soon, so hopefully I’m nearly there.

@Queenanne20 I’m praying that gets revoked before next year!

Hi, I'm also in Preston, Lancashire. My husband's review was in July last year, we got our results (no changes and a 10 year award) at the end of February 2025. So, if you're on a similar timeframe, you should hear something soon.

{mention:jac120w}thanks@jac120wthanks for the reply. That's really good to know from someone who is in the same area as it gives me an idea of the possible time frame.
