reading through the threads, I’ve realised it’s not the same as when I was on here last. Such a shame!

i have the normal monzo account but not business. It if that’s any good, please refer me. 🙂

Sorry I’ve just seen your reply now for some reason. Unfortunately you can’t have any Monzo account.

I've made over £700 last year with topcashback and only had to raise an issue on one.

I make sure I only click on that and then through to the website I want

planningforthefuture · 08/02/2025 15:41

I've done quite well the past few months with THX - it's surveys which I've found really quick and also an option to have passive background stuff running.

So far £10 voucher each month for very little effort - a few shorts surveys but mainly the background app to get my points.

I have had an email this morning from Crisp saying my services are no longer required! No reason given.

I only kept logging in to see what would happen. I was lucky if I got 2 items a day

i think we all got it, as the email starts with "All" and then goes on to say "you will each receive a letter of termination"... i can no longer access anything Crisp related - Slack, Atlassian, the work platform etc. looks like they shut the whole thing down.

what a disgraceful way to let go the people who made your company what it is today. SHAME ON CRISP THINKING/RESOLVER/KROLL, SHAME ON ADAM HILDRETH!!

Same. I wonder if that's it shut completely for everyone now. I'd given up on it pretty much anyway. The email's a bit weird though and I lost access to the slack at the same time.

Blinglover · 10/02/2025 12:32

I've had the Crisp/Resolver eff off email too; I was also expecting it as I've only done 1 or 2 items a month since October. Out of curiousity I checked Companies House and Adam H left the company in May 2022 (when they were taken over). But prior to and after the takeover, they were probably the worst organisation I have known in terms of people management/comms (and I say that with many years' HR experience in a variety of places). And don't even start me off on how poor they were supporting RAs when some of the content a few years back was very graphic, no duty of care whatsoever.

he is still very much still with the company, just in another role. if you go to https://www.resolver.com/about-us/ you'll see him listed as Chief Strategist. he probably made tens of millions when Crisp got sold to Kroll, then worked on a strategy to dispose of the people whose work got the company to where it is today. i'm sure all the executives are getting nice bonuses now that they've cut their expenses by outsourcing everything to the Philippines.
i'm shocked at how they disposed of us as if we're yesterday's garbage, without any explanation and just removing our access from everything. i've never in my life seen such poor handling of a situation. shame on these greedy scummy people!!

Wow @ByMauveSloth I'd no idea, thanks for posting that link. Yes, they are utter scumbags. Really feel sorry for those who totally relied upon the company for income.

Redcrayons · 10/02/2025 13:21

Got my email this morning as well. I looked at Slack over the weekend and nobody apart from the SMs had commented for a couple of weeks.

It was always a terrible company to work for but this is really awful. Why couldn’t they just say it was all being outsourced and was going to taper off. Pretending it was the tool glitching for months is a real low.

Ah well, it got me through furlough and redundancy. Still looking for see thing else to come along.

JoeyCreek · 10/02/2025 13:40

I got the email too. What a joke. Work dried up in October 24. I can’t believe some people were still logging in all day every day and reporting on Slack they’d got 1 item ALL day. That would be about 3 pence per day.

There were a few comments from people saying things had “ got tough” and “more work please” in total denial.

I have been trying to sign up to Outlier. What a nightmare. There are so many hoops to jump through. Every time I think I’m there they ask for something else. Currently trying to retrieve an old LinkedIn account as apparently it is mandatory to have one and you can’t continue until you add it.

Thanks, l am interested in giving that a try but the link doesn't work for me.

Spirogyra · 10/02/2025 13:52

Yes also got the Crisp email, l haven't tried to lng in this year. Intrigued about the further letter we are due to receive, with 'details of an additional payment and waiver' which we will need to sign.🤔
Am trying to motivate myself to apply to DA and Outlier but am pretty sure l won't get in, and Joeycreek's experience has put me off even more.

JoeyCreek · 10/02/2025 14:01

What do these companies want? For outlier I had to do a load of timed assessments whilst being RECORDED. They were not easy! I’m pretty sure they were marked by AI as I got the test results back immediately even though a lot of the questions were writing tasks.

The LinkedIn thing is pissing me off. Why do they need it? I’ve attached a CV, provided official ID documents, had to provide a scan of my face ring told to “turn left”, “turn right” every few seconds, taken a test, been recorded answering another test question & still it’s not enough!!! These companies are an absolute joke. Guess they get away with it as so many people desperate for work especially with Crisp gone.

Spirogyra · 10/02/2025 14:23

Thanks for the info, l think l have changed my mind about applying! l don't think they even pay that well from what l remember reading when they came up on my facebook feed and l had a look. Less than DA l believe.

TimmyTurtle · 10/02/2025 14:49

I've heard Outlier don't pay for any training you need for the tasks either. It doesn't sound like a good company to work for at all.

JoeyCreek · 10/02/2025 14:57

Yes wondering if it’s worth my while with Outlier. I need to get my LinkedIn account restored which could take up to 48 hours. Ridiculous Outlier demand this to proceed. After all this there’s no guarantee there’ll even be any work 🤦🏻‍♀️

Itsenough4now · 10/02/2025 17:51

I never got an email but I stopped doing anything for crisp in the middle of October last year, and only logged into slack to see if things would improve. Deleted that in November when it was obvious it was over. What a load of BS. It worries me that this is what the future holds for all workers, they don't need to bother with duty of care, do the work according to our rules or get replaced by AI. It's very scary.

WizardOfAus · 10/02/2025 20:29

Pathetic how crisp/resolver/kroll have handled this. They flat out lied.

Redcrayons · 13/02/2025 10:47

Anyone else get the letter to sign from the potato people?

Spirogyra · 13/02/2025 22:34

Yes. l had already signed the online one with Docusign so was surprised.

BecauseOfIndia · 14/02/2025 09:30

It's shameful the way Crisp / Resolver treats people and I'm glad you are all calling them out. I left around a year or so ago and I remember that they kept promising new queues which never materialised. I used to do shifts and earn £10 an hour but looking back on that now I realise how poorly paid I was for the work I was doing.

I left after getting a nasty email from that woman Tracey telling me off and threatening me with dismissal because I got one rating wrong - ONE!!! Out of the thousands I did correctly weekly.

I know it hasn't worked out for everyone but I've been with DA for a year now and have seemingly climbed higher and higher. It's very anonymous but you know you're doing well because you get elevated to more interesting and well paid projects. It was the lack of that which makes me furious about Crisp / Resolver, so many hard working, loyal workers and they treated everybody like dirt.

Out of interest, what are you all being asked to sign?

cannotfindanickname · 05/03/2025 12:50

Where can i find a list of the companies that have been recommended on this thread?

Also does anyone get any work on Upworker.? i want to try this but am feeling a bit daunted by the application process for each project. I am a good writer/proof reader. i just need to get some work in order to prove myself.

Alloveragain3 · 05/03/2025 16:44

@cannotfindanickname
Do you mean Upwork? I use it for some writing jobs and it's pretty good. I've always been paid for the job on time.
However, I've noticed jobs drying up recently, perhaps due to AI

ArtTheClown · 12/03/2025 21:19

Hi all, I've not posted on here for years (and several name changes), since the the start of the lockdown! We were in a precarious situation financially and the tips on here literally kept our mortgage paid and groceries bought.

Just wanted to thank you all for that, not only did it keep us going but I've now been working for Lionbridge (now Telus) for five years, and also now do work for Data Annotation. Absolutely love working from home, and flexibility.

So if I can help anyone in return by answering any questions (up to whatever I'm allowed with the NDAs) then I'll be happy to do so.
