I can still log in to both. I tried a few days ago just to see if I could. Kept it logged in for a couple of hours whilst I was putting Christmas decs up and not a single item came through. Slack is just mods announcing their shifts starting and finishing. I think even the most die hards have given up.

My guess is that have been trialling AI and the offshore RAs and using UK as an overflow for 3/6 months. At some point they’ll turn the UK off, probably the end of the year.

PorpoiseWithPurpose · 13/12/2024 19:21

Go out with a bang @Redcrayons

DebbieHarryIsShit · 13/12/2024 22:02

I’m still on and earning - £106 this month so far but not done too much as lots of family stuff in the way.

Redcrayons · 13/12/2024 22:13

How long are you in there @DebbieHarryIsShit ?
I was logged on for a couple of hours and saw nothing.

JoeyCreek · 13/12/2024 23:59

I really don’t get how £106 earning is possible? I finally gave up logging in after going days and days with no content. I’ve spoken to other RAs who say they are lucky to get 1 item every 12 hours so a grand total of 4p a day.

I really really persevered with this but made a grand total of £6 last month after being logged in every single day, constantly refreshing, clearing cache etc etc but the content was never there.

AdaShelby · 14/12/2024 07:11

I'm still on Slack but expecting to be booted any day. Absolute cowards.

WizardOfAus · 14/12/2024 07:58

@DebbieHarryIsShit lol! £106? what’s your secret? Were you one of the SM’s? No one else has seen content in weeks.

has there been another RA purge on slack? I’m so surprised there’s been no uprising or anger. It’s as if crisp was a dictator.

Toodaloobaloo · 14/12/2024 09:58

@DebbieHarryIsShit do you have access to just the Mod2 queue? Or to other areas too?

ByMauveSloth · 14/12/2024 14:15

i made an account just to post this because i can't believe this is the only place where this Crisp/Resolver/Kroll dumpster fire is talked about. like many here i've also been working for them for more than 5 years and i'm appalled by how they're treating RAs. their behavior is abhorrent!! a company worth hundreds of millions of dollars, with hundreds of lawyers and PR people on payroll, and the best solution they could come up with is to ghost their workers instead of admitting they're outsourcing the work to the Philippines.

i researched extensively and upon searching "resolver kroll" on Facebook i found posts from a couple of the content moderators that work in the Manila office. including this post from early September where you can see on their screens the platform we work on.
i've also found posts on the BPOinPH subreddit where people mention interviewing for several analyst roles not just content moderator, so general analyst, compliance analyst etc., all roles that SMs and other UK/Europe and US people now have.
looks like they're hiring massively in the Philippines and my guess is once they have enough people there and they've settled in they'll replace everyone including the SMs with overseas workers. i don't know if the SMs and other staff in analyst roles realize they'll get the same treatment as us very soon, we were just the first ones to get screwed by corporate greed. i think that's why they're so secretive about it, plus they don't want it to be widely known they use cheap labour overseas, doesn't look very good for a supposedly prestigious company.

i agree with those saying they'll completely shut us off by the end of the year. i think it will be December 20 because on March 20 they announced they're rebranding as Resolver, then 6 months later around September 20 they started syphoning the content to the Philippines. and they're allowing 3 months for the people there to get settled. i'm just curious if they'll let us know or if they'll just remove our access from everything.

i feel bad for some of the people on Slack who seem completely deluded and were posting about positivity, how this is just temporary and "a low tide" and "there will be more waves"... Christ on a bike, how have they not worked out what's going on?!

Itsenough4now · 14/12/2024 14:33

Interesting. I think sadly once Crisp was taken over (or sold, I don't know which) by a bigger US firm, this was always going to happen. Literally nothing we can do about it. It isn't right especially as they were already paying us peanuts so goodness knows how much these other workers are being paid. And they are completely spineless not to give their RAs notice of these plans. What a way to say thank you for our hard work.

Just wishing everyone all the best going forward and hope we can all eventually find something else.

ByMauveSloth · 14/12/2024 14:59

they've been planning it for a long time, i would say from the beginning of the Kroll acquisition/Resolver merger. if you go to the Crisp Glassdoor page you'll find someone mentioning the outsourcing to Manila even back in May 2023. someone else mentioned that they also laid off lots of VPs. i don't think they ever intended to keep the Crisp workers, they just bought the company for the technology (they still use Crisp's platform and all their monitoring and moderation tech and will likely continue to do so)

JoeyCreek · 14/12/2024 16:24

And yet today there is a message on Slack from an RA saying she has a new phone so how does she get a new QR code to log in 🤣 Log in for what? There is no content. I’ve just logged in & seen there is about 20 items in the queue. I was logged in all
day in the background and got zero items.

It’s absolutely appalling what they have done. Cowards the lot of them. I check Slack to see if anyone’s posting anything but think everyone has given up. It’s literally the SM managers posting about their shifts!!

Spirogyra · 14/12/2024 16:27

l agree with Mauve, l remember when the takeover was announced, & all the happy/celebratory emojis 🙄. l found a statement from Kroll that said they wanted the AI tech, and made no mention of any staff/RAs.
l am still on there and do some work occasionally, l don't have access to slack anymore due to my laptop operating system no longer being supported, which l know is naughty as you are not meant to work without being on there as well, but hardly any content comes through anyway. l also can't understand how anyone can have got up to over £100 already this month, l have been well under the £40 minimum the last 2 months. They can't carry on indefinitely relaxing the minimum content rule, as it costs them to keep us on slack, & the admin around invoicing and payment, so am also thinking it must end soon.

mydogisthebest · 14/12/2024 16:44

I have been logged in since 8am and so far have made 48p! I really cannot believe anyone is making over £100 a month.

I laughed out loud when I saw that message. It's unbelievable that people are so slow to catch themselves on.

Alloveragain3 · 14/12/2024 19:29

Out of curiosity, what is it you were all doing on Slack?

I use Slack, but within my work place as a type of chat room for projects.

Redcrayons · 15/12/2024 11:40

@Alloveragain3 slack was used exactly how you describe.

@ByMauveSloth interesting info, thanks. I can’t imagine how much they are paying workers now, when the freelance RAs were getting 3p per item.

Ive been on there for many years, and don’t feel like they’ve ever treated the RAs well. I got a telling off for asking too many clarification questions. Some of the shift managers were so rude and unhelpful.
The complete ghosting is low even for them.

ByMauveSloth · 15/12/2024 12:22

from what i gathered from forums, those working as content moderators in the Manila office are salaried employees earning around £350/month. they work 40 hours/week so that comes out to just over £2/hour. they're a small team of under 50 people processing a constant flow of content, which for us RAs paid per item came out to £10/hour or even more back when content was flowing nicely.
those in general/compliance analyst roles get like £3-£4/hour, still a fraction of what they're currently paying Europe/North America folks.
i think in a couple years max the only ones left will be those in exec roles, everything else will be outsourced.

Backtothepalmtrees · 18/12/2024 23:41

Sounds like you know what you’re talking about, I’ve heard very similar.

It's what we've all been hearing and seeing for months now. True colours have definitely come out for all to see.

If any of the bosses are reading this, reply to my messages you fucking cowards.

bananamuffin99 · 19/12/2024 09:28

Has anyone else had an email saying that you haven't been active on potato and to let them know if you want to continue? I never made a lot of money from it at all really, some months only the minimum, but it was a nice extra bit of money for coffee shop visits etc. I'll miss it but it's disgusting the way they are treating us.

Netflixconundrum · 19/12/2024 15:57

I have applied to DA and just wondering…if I do pass and get work/paid, do I need to declare it? Tax etc. thanks!

I think every RA in the U.K. probably received that email, given there’s no content to moderate.

Well yes, it's income just like any other so why wouldn't you?

It was just a question. I’ve never done anything like this before (not that I’ve been accepted so far so probably won’t be anyway). A simple yes would have sufficed 🙄
