Is there a new thread yet? I can't find one?

It was a great earner back then, I'd actually forgotten about surges!

I am surprised some of the long-term workers seem blindsided by the latest decrease in work, or even thinking it's temporary.. as everyone is saying here, the signs have been there for some time. I guess denial or wishful thinking if they're reliant on it. It's shitty to string them along.

AdaShelby · 23/09/2024 15:37

It is but if they've not realised that they're advertising for third world country employees then they need to wake up.

No amount of wailing is saving our jobs. We're all fucked. Long gone are the mod2 surges.

Turtle066 · 23/09/2024 15:52

AI is not the problem, at least not the main one. Company got destroyed by the sale.

Redcrayons · 23/09/2024 16:35

I thought they had stopped recruiting people because the slack numbers were going down.

I’m still plodding on, but have it on in the background whilst doing other stuff. I can usually get to the minimum over a week, but I’m not sure I’m going to make it this month. I’ve always had a few different things on the go and it supplemented my real job. I feel for people who are relying on it.

I joined just before Covid and it has helped me out of a big hole at the time.
So many clients gone. If the big one pulls the plug, they’ll probably shut the whole thing down.

ilikeeggs · 23/09/2024 17:15

When I was on bespoke I was easily earning £700+ a month but then I got kicked off with no warning and the other queues have always been badly paid but was still ok when there was plenty of work but now it’s just dire and getting worse each month.

You're half right. They stopped recruiting in the UK but if you're in the Philippines you should lob your CV in. Check out their careers page.

Just awful. Sounds like it all went downhill with the takeover.

It went down hill well before that take over for sure.

Im Surprised they are leaving so many negative comments on there. They used to be really tough on that.

Storewards app is closing! Just got a message. How annoying? Another one bites the dusk.

Oh - that’s so annoying! Just seen the same. Oh well, luckily I was just over the threshold for a £5 Amazon voucher so have redeemed and won’t bother uploading anymore as no point!

Anyone know of anything similar?

Turkeyhen · 03/10/2024 14:25

After having a great run on Prolific earning nearly £250, I'm now getting absolutely nothing on there. Anyone else?

justalittlebitextra · 04/10/2024 07:01

That happens sometimes with Prolific. I’ve been so busy with my day job I haven’t had a chance to do anything with Prolific for about a month and I’ve been inundated with studies (mainly the AI ones which take an hour, so I haven’t been able to commit the time).

AdaShelby · 04/10/2024 08:32

Prolific is hit and miss. I make £100 some months then £20 the next. It's that time of year when not many dissertations are written.

Itsenough4now · 04/10/2024 10:13

Like all online work, noting is guaranteed, it goes up and down. Prolific is like that and Potato is now in a permanent down phase. For those still on potato, have you seen the comments in the discussions? It is sad to see people turning on each other. I am looking for something to replace online or in the real world but nothing so far.

justalittlebitextra · 04/10/2024 10:20

A*n has been the same. It was awful for around 18 months with very slim pickings, but I'm on a decent AI project at the moment which is a veruy welcome relief after the drought! As ever with Ap thoug, I could be turfed off with no notice so taking each day as it comes!

I hate the arse lickers who keep trying to say it's the time of year. We're all being replaced by cheap labour.

I can't see any benefit in commenting on slack. It's over, I'm looking for new jobs and think everyone should be. They've treated us like shit from day one. I'm gutted but what can we do?

Itsenough4now · 04/10/2024 11:55

I agree. Complaining about people being upset seems really silly especially as you have to go into those threads to see the comments! Just don't look at them! The ability of the mods to pretend these posts aren't happening is quite funny.

And agree that everyone needs to be looking elsewhere.

Redcrayons · 04/10/2024 14:17

I was thinking the same yesterday. The well-being channel is just the SMs posting cat memes to each other.

The fact that all the negative comments are still there, speaks volumes. No word from the big boss in weeks. New dashboards, only use these links etc. I feel for people who haven’t worked out what’s going on.

Toodaloobaloo · 04/10/2024 17:26

The SM’s are at risk of losing their jobs to cheap labour too. Emailing queries results in a reply which takes days, gives a vague answer, and is in grammatically very poor English. Very unprofessional to say the least.

Itsenough4now · 09/10/2024 11:36

Those who used to work potato, have you found anything to replace it? I am trying not to rush into anything (and regret it) but so far have found very little online or off to even apply for. I thought as Xmas was coming, I would be able to find a part-time retail but so far nothing has come up 😥

Hopefully you guys are having better luck than me.

ilikeeggs · 09/10/2024 15:59

I wonder when they are going to pull the plug with potato or are they just going to wait for us all to leave.
