Is there a new thread yet? I can't find one?

I have earned £24 on Prolific in the last 5 days. My DH gets more surveys than I do so must depend on age and sex how many you get

Londoner256 · 05/09/2024 08:53

I’m finding prolific really good this week! I think it might be because of the new academic terms starting, as many of the projects are from academic institutions

Wallaroo21 · 05/09/2024 13:37

I wonder if changing my demographics on prolific would help

Toodaloobaloo · 06/09/2024 12:31

I remember on these threads a few years ago that some people were pretty successful with matched betting. I’m thinking of giving it a go but not sure where to start. Is there anyone here that would be able and willing to explain it to me like I’m a child 😂?

CinderRosie · 06/09/2024 14:10

I’ve been on the waiting list for prolific since January 😭

I have done it. Simple explanation, bookies give you free bets when you make an account with them and place a bet. You then use those free bets to make money by placing the free bet on x winning and then placing another bet on x not winning.

Look at it like covering both outcomes. If you covered both outcomes by placing bets with your own money, you would end up not losing any money, but not making any money either. But because one of those bets was free, you make a profit. Just follow this tutorial on what to do and how https://www.teamprofit.com/matched-betting-guide

i made £40 on prolific yesterday!

Toodaloobaloo · 07/09/2024 07:46

@trekking1 thank you so much! I will take a look at that link.

For those of you still on Potato, I always wonder what the SMs think about the lack of content! They never really comment, but they must be worried themselves! And there has been a lot of IT issues lately, hmmmm

Toodaloobaloo · 10/09/2024 14:53

I agree @Itsenough4now, it’s dire at the moment.

I don’t know if this is of any help to anyone, but there’s lots of remote and hybrid roles with charities. https://www.charityjob.co.uk/?source=nav

There was a moderation role on there last week, don’t know if that’s any good for any of the potato peelers out there who are looking for other work now, but it paid around £20 per hour if I recall correctly and was relatively flexible.

Have any others still on Potato noticed certain content being siphoned off from one of the main queues?

Itsenough4now · 17/09/2024 22:13

I haven't noticed, can you say more? I am not sure it matters really as there is so little work now.

Pumpkittenspice · 18/09/2024 06:28

I haven’t seen this app mentioned before, so I thought some of you may like it. I use MSR, which is a survey app, I complete the very short TV and Radio surveys daily and I cashout around £30 each month for it.

One of the queues has been removed, and it’s abhorrent that they are keeping everyone in the dark. There are about 500 people here, all anxious and with no updates. If you rely on potato to pay bills, I’d suggest you start looking for something else.

Yes, people today have mentioned a few that are now no longer there. It's dreadful. I don't think it's going to survive much longer. I've not even made the minimum yet this month!

Itsenough4now · 18/09/2024 15:39

Yesterday and today have been dire content-wise, and I haven't even made enough to buy a coffee😟. The pretence of business as usual isn't helping, the happy emojis are starting the grate. I look back at what I was able to make compared to now and am 😱.

I would definitely agree with pp, if you can find another job do it. Things could improve but the silence makes me think that things are bad.

I guess ultimately they can do what they like, we are effectively gig workers.

What did you withdraw? If it's about those potato pricks don't hold back.

They're taking us for mugs. 6p an hour is an effing disgrace.

Some have been in tears all day, which frankly is nuts but I get the sentiment. And let me tell you something, it's not getting any better. Don't anyone be deluded. It's done for the UK RAs.

ZetaPuppis · 18/09/2024 22:09

That's really sad what's happened to potato work. I remember being thrilled when I got accepted. I wasn't doing loads but easily making around 40-50 mainly doing it when I wanted.
It paid ds tuition when he was struggling a bit.

Pumpkittenspice · 19/09/2024 06:06

Not cash per se, but there’s an app called Amazon Shopper Panel. If you upload 10 receipts per month, you’ll be awarded £7 of Amazon credit at the start of each month.

It’s very easy and has helped me a great deal! I’ve been using it to pay for cleaning products. I’m going to start using the payment towards some Christmas presents 😊

Spirogyra · 19/09/2024 11:41

Potato people, have a look at slack right now 🙄

Itsenough4now · 19/09/2024 12:02

It's all a bit weird. I don't think posters have been rude, most are just asking questions as they are worried and even then it isn't that many. With the response, you would think rocks and insults were being flung😂
