Is there a new thread yet? I can't find one?

Can I just ask re DA...is it just coding? I'm reluctant to take the assessment as I'm only just starting on coding and don't want to fail and be locked out forever!

Also, newbie question, do I register as self employed straight away? Or wait until things have settled down into a regular cash flow?

UseItOrloseItt · 15/07/2024 08:32

No, DA isn't just coding. I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag, I just do the language/rating work. If you pass the starter assessment you'll get two options, coding or core, choose core.

BecauseOfIndia · 15/07/2024 09:56

I've got no idea where this idea has come from the DA is all about coding, I would say it's the opposite. It seems to me that the thing they value is creativity. I've got around 80 projects available to me now and they are predominantly creative writing and character role play.

If you think about it, the one thing AI would struggle with is being creative, it's so uniquely human.

@Hopethisendswell I would say - just go for it. It's changed my life because the pay is so good, and once you get to the point where you start rating other people's work, the pay rates just go up and up.

Who put there LinkedIn to support application for DA? I don't have one but wanted to know if this is a reason for not taking onboard new applicants. I'm doing the application again so just wanted to know if they hire with or without this info

I didn't because I deleted mine years ago. Sounds like it's pot luck who gets selected. Hope you get in!

Hopethisendswell · 15/07/2024 14:10

Great! Thank you for the advice 🥰

Turkeyhen · 15/07/2024 14:12

Is there a way to have another crack at DA?

GachaBread · 15/07/2024 14:17

Thanks, didn't really wanna set a LinkedIn up, I'm trying again with all new details. New number, email etc . Fingers crossed!

10pfreddos · 17/07/2024 13:40

Quick question for those of you who use DA.. I signed up yesterday but no initial assessment has appeared. Does it take time or were you able to access it straight away?

On the dashboard it just says 'thanks for signing up!' And then blurb below about no projects being available.

Turkeyhen · 19/07/2024 13:35

I'm really enjoying Prolific and highly recommend it if you're doing desk work anyway and can have it open and ready to leap on the surveys as they appear. The surveys/tasks are often interesting and enjoyable and earnings mount up quite quickly.

Tworoads · 23/07/2024 07:21

Trying to follow the thread and struggling with the abbreviations. What is DA?

Tworoads · 23/07/2024 07:25

My matched betting career (discovered it on mumsnet) has almost died after 4 lucrative years and I’m looking for something else to urgently fill the gap. Was making £400-£600 per month at the peak and it’s left me struggling. Would love to hear your ideas.

Slave2thekitty · 23/07/2024 17:00

Hi All
A question about DA for those who use it - I have registered with them; done 2 tests successfully and TRIED to fill in my skills etc. However - the skills page keeps wiping clean as it throws an error with the phone number. I have contacted DA via their portal over 24 hrs ago asking about this and also why I have not received any work yet. So far no response from them. Anyone overcome this & how? TIA

RhetoricalRectangle · 24/07/2024 13:49

OK, Prime Opinion is actually good! There's pretty much always a survey. I'll do the "short " ones while working online (when there's a gap in meetings) and a long one or two while watching a show.

I've made £27 this week and I've actually liked the different survey topics.

You also get a bonus for starting and a weekly prize 'pick and mix' bonus (I just got an extra 2 quid) if you do a survey every day.

It is annoying when you get screened out at the start of the survey though.

If anyone is keen, I think this link gives you an extra 10%

Spirogyra · 24/07/2024 14:38

@RhetoricalRectangle l might give it a go, but can you give a rough idea of what the hourly rate would be when filling them in? & how much time do you typically waste if you get screened out? l did join a survey site once but as soon as l saw the estimated length to complete the surveys and the amount of pay, l got them to delete my acount.

Have applied to Prolific months ago but have not heard anything

RhetoricalRectangle · 24/07/2024 15:35

Hmm tricky to answer as it really does vary.

Some of them are only 10-20p, but I'm happy to do these short ones.

Some of the 15 minute surveys net £1 or so but if you're lucky you can get a 4 or 5 min survey that nets the same (less common!)

I probably get screened out of 1 in 3, but usually they screen you out right at the start after asking a couple of Qs.

I'd say this is my fave survey site right now, and there's literally always surveys available which is nice.

Spirogyra · 24/07/2024 15:40

Thanks, didn't realise there would be so much variation between ones on the same site.

trekking1 · 25/07/2024 15:56

I wanna recommend this website https://mypressplay.com/dashboard/ where you get paid to watch film trailers and give your opinion on them. It's not much, but it adds up to an amazon gift card so every time I need to order something from amazon I wait for the earning from here to add up instead of spending money on it!

Hi all,

I came here to see if anyone mentioned Branded Surveys yet, I've been on there for a few weeks doing surveys in between work and house work, and amassed nearly £80 quite easily. They pay out at 500 points (just over £4) into paypal. The first pay out I got took 2 working days because I hadn't reached the tiers that give near instant pay outs at that point, but I got that far before the first pay out hit, it's very easy.

My favourite thing is that if a survey bugs out and does a late disqualification, there's a feature to report it, and then they reimburse you the points. Also, they give a point bonus every week, which for me, has worked out to be between 400-500 points. It depends on how many you get done within the week.

Here's is my referral link if anyone wants to try it, I get 500 points if someone I refer reaches the tiers that give almost instant pay out. (By almost instant I mean that you put your request in and then it's done within a few minutes).

I used to sell on Ebay and when they removed paypal as an option for sellers to receive funds then my paypal account became barren, so it's really nice to get a few quid back in there! So far this month the minimal pottering about on Branded Surveys has paid my internet bill, and is going to also fund some seed beads for work 😁

I tried the DA sign up but apparently my octopus story was insufficient, sad times! I was really looking forward to using that site.

Get up to 500 points with my invite link!

Join me on Branded Surveys to earn extra cash!

I am thinking of trying my luck with DA, do you have to do the work on a laptop or can it be done on my phone too?

Slave2thekitty · 26/07/2024 16:59

Hi All,

Well I have to assume DA is run by bots/fully automated as they never replied to my emails nor to me messaging them on Insta.
Prolific is great once you are accepted onto it, so don't give up hope yet. Surveys come a bit like buses - all or nothing.

I've also recently joined Prime Opinion (after realising I had to set my country to GB - d'oh!). Lots of little as well as longer surveys there so it all depends how much time you have available.
Once you join - if you can complete 1 survey per day your points are boosted so you reach payout level MUCH faster!
If you want to boost that by another 10%, here is my Bonus Code: Z3Y6JN.
Redeem this in your account. This remains valid for 24 hours when you activate it (I also get a 10% boost).
Every little bit helps & thank you if you use the code!

Also hands up who thinks potato are a bunch of cunts? The companies they moderate for need to know how they treat their staff.

I have a referral link for HSBC banking app Zing. You create the account using the link and then spend £5 using your digital card. I bought myself an Amazon voucher but can’t be used to purchase anything (other than a few things like gambling items etc.) Anyway once you’ve done that you will be paid £20 within 30 days. You can also refer on up to 20 people so chance to make £420 in total. The link is here if anyone is interested. Took me 10 minutes in total to do. You’re invited to join Zing – the worry-free international money app – and get £20. Eligible for 18+ UK Residents only. T&Cs apply. https://zing.me/referrals?referralCode=NjM3NDVkZjEtNzYzZi0zZDc0LWEzYjQtNjU2ZTZjYTQ5Mzg3 18 spaces left currently.

I also have two spaces for Monzo which pay £50 and can then refer on three others making another £150. Message me for details as I only have two spaces left.

No need, potato won't exist within a year anyway.
