A few people are waiting for the uc backdate for the disabled child element. So thought I'd make a thread about it instead of doing it on the dla thread lol x

@Jhtm like what I've noticed during both these processes is that they are super inconsistent one person is sorted months early some wait days some wait weeks there's no like order to any of it lol and it's so confusing half the time nothing is simple it turns out.

Kits45 · 01/11/2022 17:53

So a guy on my journel got in touch saying I need to explain why I didn't tell them in the relevant time frame lol I mean isn't that obvious like I didn't know if he would be awarded and if he wasn't I would of given them false information surely. then be liable to pay back any money they had given within that 14 week waiting period for a decision and making the whole situation more complex for myself and them. Do they ask everyone to justify there reasons and everyone must say the same thing?

Jhtm · 01/11/2022 18:19

@Kits45 just explain that u only got the decision on the date you got it, but it had been backdated to the date that they told u which is why you only just informed them

Kits45 · 01/11/2022 18:22

@Jhtm yea I basically said that like you know we had to wait 14 weeks to find out which is alot longer than the 8 weeks we were expecting and I didn't inform you before hand is if he was denied it would of been false information hence making the whole procedure more complicated for everyone. Lol its mad you have to justify it like surly they know how behind the dla team is they must be getting people saying the same thing each time it's insane haha

Jhtm · 01/11/2022 18:29

@Kits45 it’s definitely not an easy process, but at least that means that someone is looking at your claim for back pay I haven’t heard anything back yet

Jhtm · 01/11/2022 18:30

@Kits45 fingers crossed now you have explained you should hear something back about ur back pay soon

Kits45 · 01/11/2022 19:01

@Jhtm thanks love and I hope they get back to you soon I mean I think we have waited long enough for dla and now this I'm surprised we're not all grey and bald after all this stress haha <3

Jhtm · 02/11/2022 17:28

@Kits45 did they get back to you today?

Kits45 · 02/11/2022 17:31

@Jhtm nope he just said yesterday that if I write my reasons for not telling them about the change he would pass it over to a dm but I've had no action on it today so God knows but I'll let you know when I hear back :)

Malimum · 07/11/2022 10:45

Hey guys, do you know know how long uc take to backdate disability and careers eliment , also if I request for careers alowanxe to be back dated will it effect my universal credit ?

Jhtm · 07/11/2022 15:46

@Malimum i first notified them 3 weeks ago got send to a decision maker 2 weeks ago and still not heard anything

Malimum · 07/11/2022 18:05

I let them know 26th October heard nothing yet hopefully you hear soon

Kits45 · 07/11/2022 18:50

I'm still waiting they buggered up the careers so currently waiting for a decision on the dc element then the careers will come after I'm guessing as it only got sent to dm today been a right clart on lol

Jhtm · 07/11/2022 21:43

I got told I have to give them 4 weeks from them sending it to decision maker before they will chase it up but hoping to hear something soon

Malimum · 08/11/2022 20:30

So mad I had a letter saying I’ve been awarded the carers and they will backdate my payment with in 5 days , it come to 6 days and still nothing I rang up explained and they said payment was sent and then said the bank details it was sent to and I did NOT put these bank details on my online application no way did I , I remember checking 10 times I put them in right !! So now I’m stressing over 1500 of my money has ggone into a random bank account and they won’t even tell me the name of the bank which it’s gone into , have to wait 72 hours for a manager to call and investigation started is has this ever happened to anyone else ????

Kits45 · 09/11/2022 07:19

@Malimum thats terrible that like hopfully they will put it right my guess is they have clearly used someone else's details by accident wouldn't surprise me they don't know there arse from there elbow that place they will probably try and shift blame onto you for it but like you said you triple checked your details which everyone does when putting bank information in so my thinking is its there mistake hopfully manager can sort it out for you fingers crossed. I mean they put my disabled child element through to dm but didn't put the careers through even tho I asked for that to be back dated aswell so now one of mine will probably be delayed they are absolutely useless.

Jhtm · 09/11/2022 15:38

@Kits45 have u heard anything from decision maker yet?

Kits45 · 09/11/2022 15:55

@Jhtm nothing yet love there taking there time it seems they buggered mine up tho so my carers back date only went across to dm yesterday. fuming as I made it very clear I wanted both sorting it's doing me in this stuff why do they make it so complicated to get what your entitled to

Oilytoe90 · 10/11/2022 08:52

Morning all. Those of you that applied for carers allowance, do u have any idea of how long it takes once its with a decision maker? Thanks x

Jo197 · 10/11/2022 09:53

@Oilytoe90 if you put in a claim for carers allowance do they take the carers element off ur uc cx

Oilytoe90 · 10/11/2022 09:58

@Jo197 yes they do, but I get my uc weekly so my thought process is that I won't actually miss out on anything. But I'm just a bit simple 🤣

OP posts:
Jo197 · 10/11/2022 10:39

😂 you do get more though

Oilytoe90 · 10/11/2022 10:58

Not as thick as I thought then 🤣🤣

Kits45 · 14/11/2022 14:57

i can see this turning into another 14 week wait :( so frustrating. Has anyone else received these back payments in good time or is it gonna be another grueling wait?

Oilytoe90 · 14/11/2022 15:29

I got mine in about 10 days. But others have waited a month x
