I couldn't see a November thread so have copied the list from last month.

I've been on these threads for aaages now, but have been incredibly lazy lately!

So now it is November and those extra pennies could really come in handy, let's all try and boost our Christmas spending money.

Huge thank you to @otterses for setting this up and to everyone who has contributed and kept it going !!

Thanks for the new thread @anxiouswaiting

Just following on from the end of the last thread about am** and no longer be allowed to return items..
I read on another forum recently about someone trying to return an item. It must have been to a small company as they got a response saying they had suspended returns as they were aware recent sales were due to people mystery shopping and all the returns were threatening the viability of their business. The person felt bad and didn't pursue it, but I assume it must have happened to other small businesses too so I wasn't that surprised to see the guidelines updated about it.

I didn't return to small businesses anyway, but did to big companies. But I agree that I don't see how App could know if you did anyway. Even without returns I'd still do the project as I've had quite a few good things over the year. If it was solely for money, maybe not. Although you could still sell on elsewhere if you don't want to return.

Enjoyed doing my purchases this morning..
2 skips, but purchased a teeth whitening kit, a beer advent calendar, bunch of flowers in a jug and 1.6KG of Haribo. I will be keeping them all Grin

Hi, thank you for these threads. I have been reading for a little while and hopefully going to try to start earning more over the next few months.

I posted a message yesterday but it was on the October thread when I think I should have posted it here.

I have just been applying for lots of new App** projects. I have noticed that quite a few of them are asking if I have translation, transcription or proof reading experience. They are also asking if I have a linguistics degree. I have a degree but not in linguistics. Is it worth me applying for these if I don't have a linguistics degree and no experience in translation, transcription or proof reading. Thank you for any advice you can give.

Redcrayons · 02/11/2021 13:07

Marking place.

Buster27 · 02/11/2021 13:57

@Homebird36 Are they project requirements or just a question in the project screening? If it's just a question in the project screening I'd apply anyway, it might just be that people with that experience are preferred but you might get on anyway (I'm sure I've said no to experience questions and still gotten on before).
If it's an actual project requirement I wouldn't bother as I'd assume I wouldn't get on it anyway. I have ever actually applied in this case though so can't say for sure.

Bbbely · 02/11/2021 14:10

I am just researching the possibility of working from home using some of the sites you have linked above. Thanks so much for these threads, they are such useful information. I am just wondering how much people earn on websites such as appen and clickworker? If I have a few hours a day to spare. How much could be earned. Or is the goal of £10 a day actually quite optimistic?

ruralwanderer · 02/11/2021 14:10

Chuffed with Am** this month! I'd taken a break from the project for a few months as was sick of buying rubbish from overseas but this morning all bar 1 item were from UK sellers. Only 2 skips as they were subscription only so fingers crossed I might have some half decent stuff coming 🙂

kneesknocking · 02/11/2021 14:21

@ruralwanderer That's good news, what items did you get? I'm still purchasing mine so keeping fingers crossed for something nice Smile

Tinging · 02/11/2021 14:42

Just finished my am*r, first month back after not getting accepted for ages and 12 items this time. Mostly drop shippers unfortunately I skipped 4 so got 8 items and one is an expensive dress which can be UK returned (in store so no-one knows 👀) I got:
Dress
Socks
Shower head
Jeans
Phone case that doesn’t fit my phone
Cleaning tool
Hook
Tapas board and bowls
Thankfully had to skip a large metal demonic door knocker 😂

Redcrayons · 02/11/2021 14:49

@Bbbely that’s a bit of a how long is a piece of string question. I work full time so do this very part time. I make about £150ish per month, across a few different things.

When I was furloughed at the beginning of lockdown My best month was £500, with a couple of Appen projects, Crisp and a bit of eBay selling. Not exactly full time but not far off.

MarigoldMoonStone · 02/11/2021 15:10

I only had 6 on A*#r today, and 2 had to be skipped but I got teeth whitening kit, a wooden map for the wall, a printer & a ring. Happy with that!
I am showing as being accepted on a few different things on Ap recently but not had any work from them yet Cbe & Eco - waiting for baseline account, can anyone advise how long they had to wait?
And Anc
e but just get the 404 error on Ampersand for now :(

SuperDuperC · 02/11/2021 15:15

Hi all! Thanks for this thread, can I ask, I'm very very new to this and will start my research into how it works but are you guys spending money on this first? Is there an outlay?

bearlyactive · 02/11/2021 15:22

I am also very very new to this and I have so many questions - but the main one is: what's all the censoring about? (feel free to PM me if you can't talk about it on the thread)

Buster27 · 02/11/2021 15:23

@MarigoldMoonStone Anc*e has no work at the moment anyway - supposed to be more coming (did hear this week but you never know with App!) so hopefully you'll get access for the next batch.

@SuperDuperC Hello! No outlay at all for most things discussed here. I haven't tried everything on the list but of the ones I've done only 20Cogs and one of the Free Trade things has had any outlay. Plenty to do without having to spend any of your own money first if you don't want to Smile

Redcrayons · 02/11/2021 15:31

@bearlyactive for a lot of these things we aren’t allowed to discuss the projects or the names of the customers, so censor it. I don’t think you could glean much info from Appen names as they are random words tbh.

SuperDuperC · 02/11/2021 15:36

minnimiss · 02/11/2021 16:00

Pleased with my Am** items this month. Had 2 skips but ended up with a espresso machine, a beer advent calendar, a nice dress, teeth whitening kit and a floral arrangement. Two I will gift and the rest I will keep. A good mornings work!

Baby89 · 02/11/2021 16:20

.

ruralwanderer · 02/11/2021 16:45

I've got 2 hair care kits, a dress, boxer shorts, a jumper, a magnetic bracelet, some cream, a pin, a musical instrument and a cup. It's the most I've ever had to buy and I had a few gulps at the prices but it mostly looks decent so I'm thinking it's a few Christmas presents sorted Smile

AnotherOne4 · 02/11/2021 18:21

Just checking in Grin Waiting for my Appen invoice to be approved, but on all other sites, it's been dire!

Sirzy · 02/11/2021 18:24

Only just seen this thread. I have been using things like prolific for a bit and doing surveys but going to look at some of the others now

superpinkgirl · 02/11/2021 20:03

Hope everyone is well, not a great October for me. Would love a good Ap**n project to help pay for Christmas but not sure if that is very likely!

lannister · 02/11/2021 20:42

Placemarking

Catatemyhomework · 02/11/2021 22:01

Thanks for the new thread. I haven't had a great October either to be honest. November looking better though. Riv Pro back today on App so happy about that. Hope it lasts. Still haven't got access to fancy hat so largely given up on it now 🤔
My Shos*e purchases were only 4. I got a babies blanket, expensive and from Australia so not returning. A pair of whacky tights I'll probably never wear. A phone case for a phone I don't have and a pair of really short shorts from US which I won't bother returning. Always takes me hours to do the admin for this project too. But it is quite exciting and I haven't been picked for a few months so glad to be back on it!

peabrainer · 02/11/2021 22:14

@Bbbely @SuperDuperC to answer your questions, £10 a day is realistic but it may take some time. I do Crisp (long waiting listing atm) for £10 a day and a project on Appen for £10 a day but I had to wait a year to get a decent project from Appen. The only outlay is one of the Appen projects which is called Am** which involves buying things and reviewing them and then getting reimbursed (this isn't the £10 a day project I referred to). Good luck!

ffloogalBoom · 02/11/2021 22:17

I relied so much on Neev0 and there's just nothing at the moment. I love their tasks and this time last year was so busy.
