Hello Smile had a fab year of money making last year thanks to this thread (paid for my entire Christmas while I was on mat leave, which was a massive help) looking forward to joining for another year.

As I have a few things on the go now I'm setting my target as 10k for the year (works out as £27.40 a day).

Wolfff · 02/01/2021 12:38

I made an average of £600 per month (before tax) in the last 12 months. I also work full time.

I made about £850 last month, mostly from Appen and Crisp. My main Appen job is likely to end soon though.

herechickchickchickchick · 02/01/2021 12:38

How easy is it to earn £10 a day ? I have some debt to pay off £1,300 to be precise, and would love to get in on this and pay it off ASAP then start saving for next Christmas

whysotriggered · 02/01/2021 12:39

FayKnights · 02/01/2021 13:26

Happy New Year, thanks for the new thread. I only found you in November and have dipped in and out...Clickworker has been the best for me so far 😁

Wingingthis · 02/01/2021 13:33

Very interested in this Grin

seizethecuttlefish · 02/01/2021 13:38

@Osquito thanks.

@careerchangerwan welcome to you and all the newbies. The wonderful @Otterses started this fab thread ages ago. There are loads you can look back on in previous threads, to see more info but I remember how daunting it is to start. The links are all ways you can earn extra income (if you pass tests or get on projects in some cases). The ones most often mentioned in the thread are:

Crisp (or potato as some of us call it), social media moderation.
Appen, which is a selection of projects from transcription to taking pictures.
UTest, website and app testing. I'm not an expert on this but loads of advice from others.
Neevo/Defined Crowd. These are small, as and when type tasks.

I've probably missed loads but feel free to ask anything. The group are great and really supportive and helpful. First step is to get clicking and signing up. Enjoy.

Happy new year to all!
December was a very good month for me around £700 from potato and clickworker. Appen has tailed off and I haven't submitted any invoices for 2 months as they haven't been worth very much. After moaning about the potato shifts initially it seems my speed has increased and I will be aiming for £500 during JanuarySmile

laflemme · 02/01/2021 15:14

Please could someone explain how it works with taxes - how do you pay them?

Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Wolfff · 02/01/2021 15:37

@laflemme

You register for Self Assessment as soon as you reach £1000. We are currently in the 2020/21 tax year, so the return must be in and the tax paid by 31 Jan 2022.

3dogdnorth · 02/01/2021 16:01

As a new potato can anyone advise roughly how many items a day you would be moderating for £10 a day and can anyone explain "surge". Thanks

Otterses · 02/01/2021 16:35

Checking in and hope you all had a wonderful 2020 (at least money wise!) and hope you have an even better 2021 Grin

I’m aiming for £100 a month for the year, which feels a bit strange after the last two for having to earn £300. Obviously more is fantastic, but I’m not in a position to burn the candle at both ends as much as usual this year.

@3dogdnorth I THINK it’s about 360 for £10, a surge is when the pay per item is increased. So when there’s lots of content sometimes they’ll pay up to twice the value you would normally get for moderating the content. I hope that makes sense? It’s worth looking at Atlasian or whatever the moderating guide is too Smile

laflemme · 02/01/2021 16:54

@Wolfff thank you!

Tohaveandtohold · 02/01/2021 17:33

Happy new year everyone . I had a good month in Dec, earned around £500 but I don’t think I can put in that much effort going forwards due to my day job but still hoping to earn £300 a month.
I started potato and nothing has appeared yet on my dashboard so I don’t know how I’m doing but we’ll see
