@Otterses thanks for that, I've looked at Atlassian but couldn't find what I was after (or maybe not looking in the right place)

Mancbee · 02/01/2021 18:46

Place marking Smile Happy New Year everyone!

YonderTweek · 02/01/2021 18:49

Thanks for the new thread and happy new year! Not received my Ap invoice yet but I'm estimating I made around £500 in December. I think it was ok but it was significantly less than I had made in the previous months. I'm hoping for a busy January, but also I'm pleased that December was a bit quieter as I had time to prep for Christmas and spend time with my family. (Now I'm sick of them and want a huge project. Lol. JK. Grin)

WizardOfAus · 02/01/2021 21:50

Hi @3dogdnorth
I've been on potato today and reached £10 after moderating 340 items
That's with ZERO surges, either.

CardoMondo · 03/01/2021 09:55

Hi guys, I’m totally new to this. I’m finding it difficult to read between the lines of what you’re all doing. I have ADHD so concentration is not my strong point.

I managed to sign up to Clickworker yesterday and made €15 on a phone app job. It’s still saying that I have €0 payable. Is this normal?

What is potato?
Can anyone explain to me some first steps with appen etc as though I’m a small child?

I’m not daft, I managed to get the hang of matched betting and made almost £3k but it took me a long time to understand it (and some kind bloke virtually holding my hand through the first few bets!)

lannister · 03/01/2021 10:19

Placemarking. Happy New Year!

Gatekeeper · 03/01/2021 10:41

morning all and Happy New Year Grin

anyone on N*E O*s not able to rate ads?

Wolfff · 03/01/2021 10:46

@CardoMondo

All you need to know is included in the links at the beginning of the thread. Crisp Thinking is 'Potato'. Most of the jobs require a degree of concentration as they are quite boring, so you will need to consider if this is the right fit for you.

For Appen you need to go to the Appen Connect website and register and upload a cv. Once registered you can apply for a variety of 'jobs' - descriptions are provided.

Clickworker tends to pay a month or so after you have done the work for the eye tracking one. You can see the payment dates of you look at your work history.

Some people discuss matters that are to do with the jobs they are on, it's not meant to be obscure, but there are obviously things that are meaningless to anyone not doing them.

Sallycinnamum · 03/01/2021 15:50

Glad to say my n*le contract with appen has been extended for another 6 months which is brilliant news although the tool hasn't been working for the last 3 days.

Averaging £300 a month, which has been a massive help.

Dipping my toes into other Appen projects now but my.time is limited as I work full time.

Sallycinnamum · 03/01/2021 15:51

Me too @Gatekeeper. So frustrating but I've been looking on the chat board and it seems it's the same for everyone.

Tightwad2020 · 03/01/2021 17:47

Hello, newbie here. Do you have to be supergood on social media and have lots of computer skills? I am determined to earn more income this year. Even getting to an extra £2000 would be amazing for me. I am also looking at 'real world' stuff like house-sitting, but having things I could do from home would be great.

Wolfff · 03/01/2021 18:05

Welcome @Tightwad2020

You don't need advanced skills at all. If you have an awareness of and use social media it helps but is not essential. Some jobs on Appen require you to have an Instagram or FB account (they don't access your stuff or post on it dont worry). Most of the work involves following instructions and just common sense really.

WizardOfAus · 03/01/2021 18:52

Hey potatoes, can anyone explain how I book a NM2 shift on Humanity?

Tightwad2020 · 03/01/2021 18:56

Thank you Wolfff. Quite excited.

Redcrayons · 03/01/2021 19:29

@WizardOfAus do you get them emails from Humanity? Click on the link and it takes you to the shift.
Looks like they are only posting an hour at a time so if it’s empty then there aren’t any.

Rad2016 · 03/01/2021 19:51

Thanks guys for the new thread. I have been quite silent in Dec due to issues here and there. Hoping the new year comes with good tidings and more opportunities. Welcome to all the newbies.

WizardOfAus · 03/01/2021 22:07

@Redcrayons - thank you! I've just checked my Humanity settings... looks like I had unsubscribed to the email notifications. Have now changed this and am now receiving shift notifications.

MrsPretzels · 04/01/2021 00:46

Hi all, happy new year!! Not been on these threads for the past 2 months or so as work has been crazy but just got accepted onto N*le which I'm super excited about so thought I'd pop back on here

lannister · 04/01/2021 11:14

@Sallycinnamum glad to hear its not just me whose been having error messages from the mobile tool for the last few days. Its frustrating but its a good little earner isn't it :)

lannister · 04/01/2021 11:17

Congratultions @MrsPretzels its my favourite project

Sallycinnamum · 04/01/2021 13:44

@lannister yes it is. I'm really going to miss it when I finish as it's so easy to do. Just need to do my self assessment now!

I hope they get the tool fixed today as I've now missed three days of working. It does seem a bit mad Appen hasn't fixed it as yet.

mothertobam · 04/01/2021 14:30

Happy New year, ive been following silently for a while and took part in my first Ap project last month so really hoping to ramp up my efforts this year so-placemarking 😁

WizardOfAus · 04/01/2021 15:32

I’ve applied for a few projects on Appen. What’s the average wait time to find out whether you’ve been successful?

Wolfff · 04/01/2021 15:40

@WizardOfAus

I don't think there is one. They tend to hire people in batches for long term projects. I would check each day to see if there are any new projects and apply - many are first come first served especially short term projects.

I picked up a long term project straight away, but I think I was lucky and that was well before Covid.

entrytohr · 04/01/2021 16:06

Can anyone please advise on how long it took you to hear whether you'd passed the assessment after being invited onto crisp please? I'm expecting a delay with Christmas but it's been a week now and I'm starting to get antsy! Convinced I failed, but it'd be nice to know either way!

And has anyone ever failed it? Is that it done if so?
