I got offered the portrait review job for 1 cent a piece too. Hmm I actually did a handful as I did a lot of the image collection and I was curious as to what kind of images other people uploaded. Some of them are really taking the piss. There was a picture of a stripper categorised as female formal!

Do any of you know if image collection type jobs come up often? I leapt on them and did a lot as the rate was so good, but will pace myself more if they come up regularly as I spent more time on them than I had really. (House went to shit!)

Azerothi · 03/08/2020 10:26

@bubbles519

If I remember rightly you use the button 'request changes' on your Appen profile to email them. I am not sure though.

Gatekeeper · 03/08/2020 10:39

Is anyone doing F*h on Ap**n? I'm stuck on a batch as they haven't given an example. It's the commands to Facebook.

Horehound · 03/08/2020 10:58

@peelpeelthebanana yeah that's the only reason I did those jobs too, because I had uploaded some photos and I wanted to see if mine would come through! did you use photos from the internet or did you use ones of your own?

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 03/08/2020 11:01

Gatekeeper- can you do that? I get the "you have finished your ratings for today" pop up after 30. So I can start again? That would be much more satisfactory! I'm a durrr for not realising that I could! Flowers

seizethecuttlefish · 03/08/2020 11:30

@ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress just come out and go back in. Do that till you've rated 30. If it's not working you can still use desktop. I've been on and off mobile constantly as I get errors.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 03/08/2020 11:32

Excellent, thank you!

wildnightswildnights · 03/08/2020 13:35

The only think I've got going on Neevo at the moment is uploading images. Been taking pictures of candles lit around the house and then stopping and wondering what I am doing with my life...

I qualified my first Usertesting study but I did about 5 minutes of it before accidentally uploading it prematurely. I hope that it doesnt kick me off or anything Confused

Mrsm010918 · 03/08/2020 13:54

@Gatekeeper I'm doing F*h, haven't come across that one yet though. Im only 80 into it as having to do bursts between jobs

peelpeelthebanana · 03/08/2020 13:58

@Horehound I used photos I found online with commercial reuse licences. I did think about taking some myself, but tbh, I didn't get a chance to upload all the ones I'd found before I ran out of available tasks, so never got round to it.

elfycat · 03/08/2020 14:55

I've just started Neevo yesterday (having found this thread), but the payout per task is so low compared to the time spent that minimum wage for an under-16 isn't in the ballpark. Are there better paid things ahead?

I'm not saying I need to see £8+ an hour, but I could have been playing with my Etsy shop (170.90 last month with a week off on holiday)

Also signed up to Appen and Utest

peelpeelthebanana · 03/08/2020 16:11

@elfycat, I find it very variable with Neevo - some of the tasks are ridiculously low paid, but there others where you can definitely make more than minimum wage, sometimes considerably more depending on your skill/speed.

justtheonethen · 03/08/2020 16:19

@ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress just lie Wink

zosie24 · 03/08/2020 16:30

Hi Everyone - slowly working my way through some suggestions. I've tried out Neevo and prolific, which I've got on OK with, and click worker - which hasn't been as good. Also had some luck with eBay last month too.

Question - has anyone come across any sites that offer proof reading work?

HolyShmoly · 03/08/2020 16:36

Euch, anyone else find 20cogs a bit of a slog to get completed?

zosie24 · 03/08/2020 16:54

@holyshmoly yes, I sacked it off almost straight away!

Gatekeeper · 03/08/2020 17:01

@Mrsm010918 let me know when you get to 120 Grin as that is where i am stuck!!!

Mrsm010918 · 03/08/2020 17:34

@Gatekeeper I think I know where you mean. I just guessed it e.g turn up/ down etc

Backtotrytenpoundsaday · 03/08/2020 20:06

Thank you for these threads, they are very encouraging

I joined Prolific just over a week ago and earned about £12 but I found one good £5 survey and otherwise it would have been quite slow. I keep checking it and just missing studies!

Redid my CV (I know it may not get looked at by Appen etc but it really was so out of date and even in my maiden name before so I thought I'd properly rewrite it so it's ready just in case something more permanent comes up)

I've now registered with Appen, Neevo and applied to ModSquad (also passed Crisp test about six months ago but never heard anything, maybe I should try again with a new email address). I did try matched betting briefly a few months ago and could get back into that again

I couldn't spot where to actually register with Lionbridge but then had to do something else so will try later when DD finally asleep!

Nicesunny · 03/08/2020 20:51

Hi, I’m totally new to this. I need to earn a bit extra as now part time. Do I just follow the links?
And any tips? Thanks..

ruralwanderer · 03/08/2020 21:05

To those that have the UHRS "Account disabled" message, have you got your access back yet? I still haven't and have cleared my cache, browser history, extensions, etc. I had a similar issue last month but it resolved itself within a day or so. This time it's been nearly a week...Thanks! :)

HolyShmoly · 03/08/2020 21:46

Is anyone else doing those policing during covid surveys on prolific? It's a lovely little slow burner, I'm sad it's coming to an end.
Set a target of £25 earnings during August, already on almost £13 with Prolific, and should have around 2800 swagbucks to cash out (although I really hate those ones that don't show as pending and am generally nonplussed by swagbucks in general.

wildnightswildnights · 03/08/2020 21:54

@ruralwanderer I've been locked out too on my laptop but if I get on it on my work laptop it works fine. Got no idea what the problem is!

WonderTweek · 03/08/2020 22:20

I'm locked out too! It's very hit and miss at the moment.

Backtotrytenpoundsaday · 03/08/2020 22:23

I'm unreasonably upset that I just missed a lovely £8 survey on Prolific! I was so pleased to manage to reserve a place, started but - it said my internet speed was not fast enough! I can't believe it! Tried on three different devices, and it was only a survey type thing I think whereas I've done visual exercises with videos with no problems before. I've had to return it now but before I did turned WiFi on and off, tried mobile data (as it's included in my SIM only deal) etc etc

Feel like all I have to show for last few days is a load of applications, a study where I had to look for exotic flowers (and I think the study really was to see whether people would actually do it more than because they really wanted the images) which I won't even get paid for because it said timed out even though I reached the maximum images and submitted! But, it would only have been about 60/70p I guess

Oh and a grumpy husband who asks why I "wait" until he gets home from his work to do these things when I'm at home all day! When actually I get up early and grab every second I can that toddler is occupied, but the 10 minutes in which he does bathtime is otherwise the only time I can focus properly on something else between 6am and 9pm, generally 7 days a week

And to think I was hoping to get cracking and continue this when I have a baby soon too! But where there's a will there's a way
