@Backtotrytenpoundsaday You'll get there! I'm only a newbie to this but it can be very frustrating when you work really hard and aren't getting anywhere. I think you have to do quite a bit for not very much in the beginning, but hopefully it'll pick up. It would be great if we could all have a nice project that pays well. Grin Prolific is great but it winds me up so much if I miss out on a study too! I have just had an email back from User Testing too and they rejected my video (had major tech issues and messed up my re-recording too Hmm) and for a moment I felt personally insulted. Haha. But onwards and upwards! I think you have to try different things and see what works for you.

It's rubbish that your husband isn't more supportive. Mine was sceptical when I told him that this time next year I'll be a millionaire (Grin), but after I have told him that I'm serious about this and will give it a proper go he has become more supportive, although sometimes he still refers to it as just me doing surveys. Haha. Maybe he's just annoyed that it's eating into your time together? Mine is probably a bit miffed that I'm clicking away in the evenings, but at least I'm doing it in the lounge whilst he's gaming or when we're watching TV together, so I can still talk to him (unless it's something that requires concentration).

seizethecuttlefish · 04/08/2020 09:27

@Backtotrytenpoundsaday I always miss Prolific. I'm a year in and I've not even earned a tenner from them, so you're doing better than me!

If you can find the thread from July last year, you'll find me having a similar moan. It's so slow to start. Keep plugging away. One thing I have learned is to set a timetable. I have the kids so I I try to do bits and pieces through the day and then set aside an hour or two at night. I have to be strict and I try and give myself days off. Look at matched betting. Team Profit is a good place to start. This is my link but if you prefer you can just search.

www.teamprofit.com/g2879

I did a bit and got a nice profit from the welcome offers. It tided next over till other things kicked off.

We're all here if you need support. I found the first couple of months so frustrating!

lynsey91 · 04/08/2020 10:19

@Backtotrytenpoundsaday I actually started working for Crisp just over a year after passing the test so you are still likely to hear

lynsey91 · 04/08/2020 12:40

Those doing the Neevo listening task are you giving a different reason for your choice each time?

I am guessing they don't want the same thing said although there are only so many ways to say how you found the voice but keep typing a different reason is a pain

Backtotrytenpoundsaday · 04/08/2020 12:53

Thank you guys for the support, feeling motivated! DH definitely not worried about it cutting into our time, more that it means he has to carry the potty upstairs as well as the child etc etc

He's not all that bad really but has a tendency to be patronising about his important work as if I can't comprehend it, when actually I was earning exactly the same salary as him until DC1! I suspect it also makes me over sensitive but it's a short (and lovely) time of our lives with young children and then I hope I can regain some semblance of a career!

Mrsm010918 · 04/08/2020 12:54

@lynsey91 I'm putting slight variations to keep them different but essentially the same things

Has anyone been paid for the healthcare/auto tasks yet?

Jen435 · 04/08/2020 12:56

I managed to make ~ £65 in my first month on prolific - mainly because I struck gold with a £7 survey that I also got an £11 bonus from! Can't really be bothered with anything else really, am doing this around my main job (which I'm being made redundant from shortly) but allows me to justify spending some money

wildnightswildnights · 04/08/2020 13:09

A slow morning for me. Nothing on Prolific or Intellizoom, been screened out of about 40 Usertesting things.

I managed a live Usertesting interview yesterday for $30 which was great.

Currently doing the Neevo task where you have to rephrase a request to a bot on the phone but dont know if I'm doing it right.

WonderTweek · 04/08/2020 13:16

Ahh I may have shot myself in the foot with Neevo by not doing those calls because I'm not seeing any of the listening etc tasks that you're talking about. Hmm I logged in to do a call once but was immediately interrupted by a child and thought I'll never find a quiet time for this. Grin

Backtotrytenpoundsaday · 04/08/2020 13:50

@seizethecuttlefish thanks for your nice message! I did do a tiny bit of Profit Accumulator (two or three of their training bets) before stopping, maybe I'll try Team Profit. I wonder if they use same bookmaker/exchange as if so I'll have had the first couple of offers but I'll have a look later!

ohmygiddiest · 04/08/2020 14:25

With 20 Cogs you do have to invest a couple of hours of your time + about £25 to get your payout of £125+, oh my dosh is quicker but not as profitable.

If you use my links, we will both get a bonus.

Bochabuns · 04/08/2020 14:38

I can’t believe I’ve only just found these threads! I started profit accumulator and made about £700 doing the easy sign up offers before Xmas. Have signed up to Appen but there’s never any tasks - am I doing it wrong? How do I level up without tasks??
Passed the crisp test but from reading this thread it’s a waiting game!

Horehound · 04/08/2020 17:55

I failed the waywithwords audio quiz.

I tried three times and now I have used up all my chances. I actually don't know where I went wrong with it :S now there's a padlock I can't progress and try again. Humph.

Azerothi · 04/08/2020 19:14

@Horehound
Have you tried Rev.com for transcription? They are great to work for and about the same pay as way with words.

Horehound · 04/08/2020 19:45

I haven't @Azerothi but I'll have a look now, thank you

Sonmi451 · 04/08/2020 20:23

I'm pretty deflated too, seem to have spent a lot of time registering for things (half of which then say I'm not eligible because of where I live). No tasks on Appen. Crisp said I was on the waiting list, but then the email they sent said I had only scored 18 out of 20, so I wasn't. Trying to get set up on Utest, but half of the profile info they ask for isn't there, so I fill in a support request as per instructions. On the submission form, the Isle of Man isn't there as a country, so I can't submit the requests! Seriously wondering how much more time I can waste before I sack it off.

ruralwanderer · 04/08/2020 20:34

@sonmi451, have you signed up to Intellizoom? I really like them and make about £50 a month from them so well worth a look. The work is really interesting too 🙂

Carrotgirl87 · 04/08/2020 20:40

Just got another random £6 from neevo for the transcript correction task so that's a nice surprise

seizethecuttlefish · 04/08/2020 20:50

@Sonmi451 have you tried Lionbridge? Not sure where you live but they're worldwide and a lot of people swear by them? Appen is very quiet for me at the moment, so you're not missing much.

Sonmi451 · 04/08/2020 21:25

@ruralwanderer Not yet, I'll have a look, thank you.

@seizethecuttlefish I'm on the Isle of Man. It's virtually spitting distance from Liverpool, but it's not actually part of the UK, which complicates things. (And try getting a parcel delivered! £££££) I haven't looked at Lionbridge, as I read a few posts that suggested you couldn't work for them if you were working for Appen. (Although given that I'm NOT technically working for them, I suppose I should apply!)

Azerothi · 04/08/2020 22:59

Appen Wou*i link is up.

Rad2016 · 05/08/2020 00:45

Luckily I was on laptop doing some work. Managed an hr.. Fingers need rest. Hopefully there'll be more in morning

ruralwanderer · 05/08/2020 06:11

W* still going strong this morning Grin

MrsWombat · 05/08/2020 08:01

I've managed an hour and a half on W between this morning and last night but I have other things to do today. Grrrrrr.

Sirrah · 05/08/2020 09:00

Hi everyone, I'm intrigued, and wanted to ask which options would be most suitable for me to try first?

I would prefer to work from my tablet, is that possible, or would a laptop be better?
