Mines is now re-approved at 15 hours down. I am struggling at how calculatedly unpleasant and dishonest Appen are in this world crisis.

I haven't eaten my dinner. Dh made a stir fry and I've completely lost my appetite now. Couldn't eat it. I am so cross. Now I've just fallen out with dh and the dc as they think I'm a miserable fecker. Hardly surprising, I have good reason. Bloody hell!

Trying to think positive. Hopefully they are just making sure we are paid for everything else on time while they sort the invoicing for part 1 debacle out?!

@toastytea, I'm with you mate. There is an atmosphere in the house as I have been banging on for a while now. One by one they have all disappeared muttering about mum being in a piss. I think I will go to bed.

I have 'only' lost about $20 but I am so angry. Thinking of emailing the Appen execs or going on social media to expose the incompetent thieving arses!

@rhij86 I think what you've said seems the most plausible. I can't imagine them not paying for any of the week 1 tasks. I reckon they're just trying to ensure that the payments aren't delayed and just removing the ones they have an issue with until it's sorted. Although it's absolutely disgraceful that they're moving the goalposts. I'm glad I got accepted on to the project late so it hasn't directly affected me, however it's really not left me with a great impression of them considering this is my first project. So sorry that so many of you are going through this!

I've just sent a ticket. Sod it. I don't want them thinking I'm accepting of the situation. Even if they plan to pay us for the missing hours further down the line, an email to that effect cannot be beyond them to stop people thinking the worst.

Hello all I have had a few months away from the thread as life got busy but just checking in that I have the facts right regarding Appen. I am on the mentioned project but never got invited to the first part so my hours have remained the same with the second approval.

From what I have seen on the social page some people on the USA locale on there were talking about how they found the task really easy but would let the timer count down to the very last minute before submitting to get the maximum pay? And one lady on there reported this to the project manager as she felt strongly that it was fraud? I can't believe this is happening and am thinking about resigning from the project as I wonder if they will change the goalposts for parts 2 and 3 which I personally found quite time intensive and often had finished about 2 or 3 minutes before the timer finished counting down. I'm so sorry for everyone affected by this.

@Fizbo people were also saying they'd been thrown off for not taking enough time on every task.
The closure of chat was a serious red flag

I didn't do task 1 so haven't been affected by any of this but I'm so pissed off that they think they can just move the goalposts like this. What's to say they won't do the same for the other two tasks?!

Don't think I'll bother with any more of the tasks if they become available again..

Mine has been passed for payment too with only a very small reduction. I only did four hours on part 1 so I think I must have just got lucky and been very close to the five minutes each time.

I'm really hoping you all get paid fairly (as fairly as can be given the post work change to terms which is very bad of them to do) and it does seem like they have taken P.1 off your invoices to allow payment for the rest to go through.

If what a PP said above about statements in the chat re: letting the timer run on is true then they should have just changed the time allowed for future tasks and not applied it to work already done.

For those on B*ne check the project page, looks like they have changed their minds on the time cap and our invoices will return to normal some time on the 13th (so in theory before 8am our time today)

From the project page it looks like the invoices are going back to reflect a max
of 10 mins for part one.

But as others have said, invoice has now been unapproved for the second time.

Mine says ready for review- does that mean it’s imminently about to be paid? I’m so confused! What a shambles this project is !

They have to put the hours back on and then approve it.

I'm so sorry so many of you are having issues with Appen feel bloody awful for recommending them now!

Not the most productive few days for me, need to get a wiggle on, but DS is missing daddy and inconsolable a lot of the time.
