Well ... it's been one hell of a month hasn't it? I hope everyone is safe and well (and not going too mad with kids and partners at home!). As always, referral links and new starters are welcome, think we're all going to need a boost financially over the next few months.

My part 1 hours are still missing 😭

girlicorne · 14/04/2020 08:13

@Otterses please don’t blame yourself 😀 we are all grown ups who have made an informed choice no one could have predicted this would happen. I recommended to newbies as well, I certainly won’t be recommending to anyone else though this is absolutely disgraceful!!

Wolfff · 14/04/2020 08:19

@Otterses

Don't apologise. This appears to be maverick behaviour on the part of a project manager which was unforeseen and before this my experience has been positive.

Frenchdoors1 · 14/04/2020 08:37

@Otterses

You've done extremely well starting this money making thread.
Absolutely not your fault,
Far from it.

rhij86 · 14/04/2020 08:42

@otterses absolutely not your fault x

Boobahs · 14/04/2020 08:48

Hi all, hope you all had a good Easter as far as possible with being stuck at home!

Just a quick question if anyone can help? I'm doing the SME job on Lionbridge, rating ads but I can't work out where to see my work/hours/earning... Nothing is showing up on the WorkMarket app where I thought it would be and I've send them two messages querying this but just keep getting a reply saying that I've completed the training and am "whitelisted" for the job. I've already done a week so I hope it's been recorded somewhere!

DarkPassenger · 14/04/2020 09:22

@Otterses - Please don't feel bad, no one could have predicted something like this happening.

I reckon it is a power crazed project manager that made the decision and everyone under him/her cringed like mad but had no choice but to follow instructions. I'm sure most of us have had a manager or boss that made stupid decisions like that. The fact that PPs report above that it looks like the decision has been reversed means that someone higher up has taken control.

I still remember the uproar when a manager decided to change the historical 'close at 12pm 23rd Dec' to 'You all have to work until 12pm 24th' a week before Christmas Eve. He was gone by the 1st of March of the following year! Or the one that change time and a half rate for optional Saturday working to normal rate and time off in lieu (only to be granted in quiet times not holiday season when most people wanted it). He had a shit fit when only 3 people turned up the following Saturday rather than the usual 20. He got a right bollocking for that. Thought he was being clever and saving the company money but it didn't occur to him that most staff actually valued the cash more than very restricted time off. Bloody numpties the pair of them.

justtheonethen · 14/04/2020 09:23

@rhij86 phew!l

@Otterses don't be silly, normally they are fab, must just be some twat of a pm messing up here.

Suebnm · 14/04/2020 09:23

On the B^^e project page, it says they are putting it back to the original10 minutes. At least that is how I read it. Anyone else seen it? My invoice is now under review for the third time and still not ready.

Suebnm · 14/04/2020 09:25

Oh sorry I missed that someone has already posted this.

DarkPassenger · 14/04/2020 09:28

Ahh, maverick, that's the word, thank you Wolfff.

0htooooodles · 14/04/2020 09:31

@boobahs They send you a weekly email on a Tuesday with the hours and how much you've worked. It then gets settled on a Friday and you can withdraw it :)

Tohaveandtohold · 14/04/2020 09:31

@Boobahs, I’m doing that job with LB, after your week of work, they send you an email usually the following Tuesday telling you how many days you worked, how many ratings submitted and how much you’ll be paid and on Friday, the funds will be available on WM app for you to withdraw.
It’s always done one week in arrears so I’m sure you’ll get an email sometime today from them.

Gatekeeper · 14/04/2020 09:44

morning all, can anyone help me with my payoneer account please It's asking for verification- I've uploaded my driving licence but it's asking for business details. HELP!!!

ruralwanderer · 14/04/2020 09:55

I've finally been accepted for B* so am hoping that by the time the next batch of tasks become available, they will have solved the invoicing issue and the PM will have been reined in so they won't happen again...really hope all of you that have been affected get your proper pay soon!

Curdsandwhey · 14/04/2020 09:59

How long does it usually take to be accepted for each individual job on Appen? I haven't actually applied for one yet.

Boobahs · 14/04/2020 10:15

@0htooooodles @tohaveandtohold

I actually just got the email! Thank you!

DarkPassenger · 14/04/2020 10:15

@Gatekeeper - I've just done exactly the same thing! I had hoped the uploaded DL would make the survey disappear but no such luck.

I selected programming and tech services, took inspiration from our B* tasks and entered www idonothaveacompanywebsite dot com (entered correctly on the form). I gave a brief decription of 'Self-employed at home as a search engine result evaluator for company name, registered with HMRC' (thanks to PP that suggested search engine result evaluator for CV purposes), and 0-5000 per paymeny, 0-20 payments per month. I think that covers everything it asked, if there's anything I've forgotten come back and ask and either I or fellow threadians will come up with something.

Frenchdoors1 · 14/04/2020 10:21

@Curdsandwhey
It takes a while. Could be weeks, months. You don't get put on to a job straight away.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more positive answer.

Curdsandwhey · 14/04/2020 10:48

Ah how frustrating, thanks for your answer though. I have signed up to some survey websites but it's going to be slow going. I've done a few surveys on Prolific, actually quite interesting stuff!

Frenchdoors1 · 14/04/2020 11:01

@Curdsandwhey

Yes they are interesting.

Time soon passes though, If you sign up then at least you're halfway there Smile

Good luck, you'll get there like we all did.

MrsWombat · 14/04/2020 11:25

I'm also very sorry for recommending Appen! My other projects have always been fine. It's just this one that seems to have a dodgy project manager and/or client. I will continue working for them but might give Bane a swerve from now on.

People on the socials are starting to get paid whilst my invoice is still ready for review. Confused

Catatemyhomework · 14/04/2020 11:31

I don't blame anyone, apart from the Bane project manager. I'm glad I discovered Appen and hopefully will continue to get work with them. I'm sure this is a one off though. My invoice is under review again. Hope it means they are paying the correct hours worked as they should have all along.

justtheonethen · 14/04/2020 11:34

To be honest as long as they pay the correct hours I'll carry on with B*ne as it's the easiest money ever #shameless

Catatemyhomework · 14/04/2020 11:36

Me too @justtheonethen. Totally shameless and needs must!
