Well ... it's been one hell of a month hasn't it? I hope everyone is safe and well (and not going too mad with kids and partners at home!). As always, referral links and new starters are welcome, think we're all going to need a boost financially over the next few months.

The B+++ team really do seem to be making stuff up as they go along. They can piss off with the faux cheeriness in their messages too.

Flowers For those who've been put out by this.

Wolfff · 11/04/2020 13:42

Someone has posted the whistleblowing link on Appen social if anyone feels the need...

appen.integracall.com/webportal

toastytea · 11/04/2020 14:01

Can't believe b++e. Shocking.

tootyfruitypickle · 11/04/2020 14:27

I didn’t do part 1 but am really shocked by this! Can appen step in?

Wolfff · 11/04/2020 17:05

@tootyfruitypickle

They have said that any messages about this will be deleted and not responded to. As general emails to Appen will be forwarded to the project team, there is no way to contact anyone else. Hence someone is trying to contact management through a Whistle blowers medium.

The project chat was already shut down.

Unfortunately this does not appear to be a one off. I was happy with Appen before this but I cannot take any more chances with not being paid. I have another job which I will be concentrating on now and Appen can home fuck themselves.

toastytea · 11/04/2020 17:09

I found the email address [email protected] on glassdoor as a response from appen to a complaint. Might be worth send an email to this address, I have.

Wolfff · 11/04/2020 17:10

Thanks @toastytea

toastytea · 11/04/2020 17:17

I've posted on social chat on appen but now worried they'll fire me 🤣

Frenchdoors1 · 11/04/2020 17:18

I don't understand why they think they can do this without there being uproar!

toastytea · 11/04/2020 17:26

@Frenchdoors1 I know that's why I posted on the social chat. Lots of people have complained on chat but worried that I'm going to get fired.

Frenchdoors1 · 11/04/2020 17:33

@toastytea

Well if that was the case (getting fired) to anyone who complains then they would be left with a lower workforce therefore not enough for the next assumed batch!?

I really don't know.

527040minutes · 11/04/2020 18:53

@Lougle can I be a bit cheeky and ask how much time you put into utest? You've got one of the best returns I've seen and this is massively putting me off appen!

Lougle · 11/04/2020 19:14

It's not cheeky at all. I haven't been keeping track to be honest, but it can be a few hours per day or nothing. It isn't hourly paid and there is sometimes a delay between reporting issues and getting them approved. For example, this month so far I'm only getting about $140 but the first few days of April were almost dead with hardly any invitations, then I've turned down 16 invitations for cycles over the last 2 days because it's DD3's birthday today and I don't want to be concentrating on UTest when it's her birthday. So April will not match March in any way. Having said that, I have 41 issues waiting for approval or rejection, so the final amount for this fortnight may go up yet.

Not very helpful, was I? grin

527040minutes · 11/04/2020 19:25

@Lougle It is, honestly! It's with it not being hourly that I was struggling to work out how it's likely to balance out, like if you were doing 8 hour days, 7 days a week it isn't as "impressive" an amount compared to an hour or two most days, with the odd extra few hours thrown in! Did it take you a while to build up to the number of invitations you get? We don't need a massively stable income as dp's wage covers all essentials, so it's going towards debt repayment above the minimum and then savings and nice bits! Wondering how long it's likely to take to build to an ok amount with a good level of effort! Struggling to motivate myself with it as everything I've found about it is quite "wishy washy" in those terms with it being paid by project/result!

Lougle · 11/04/2020 19:41

I joined on January 4th. I worked my way through the academy to the 'challenge cycles'and did two of those. By the end of January I'd earned about $35. But by the end of February I'd earned another $500 ish and then in March I earned $800 ish.

It took about 5 weeks to get to the point where I could pick and choose projects.

527040minutes · 11/04/2020 20:03

That's brilliant thank you, I've been struggling to get through the academy because it feels so never ending with no reward, but if there's genuinely a return on the effort then it sounds worth seeing through. Seriously considering not keeping trying with appen, waiting to see how they deal with the current issues but my confidence is very shaken by it!

AdaShelby · 11/04/2020 22:42

What the actual? Fuck that with Bane.

What a piss take.

I need to get my crisp head back on and get back on that.

toastytea · 11/04/2020 22:55

@Lougle you're also my inspiration with utest but I still can't get into it! I'm more motivated now tho with all this b++ invoice crap going on

SpirallingThroughAnotherDay · 11/04/2020 23:40

All this with B and now uh*s has disabled my account! Nothing on nvo for me either, completely disheartened today.

BertieBotts · 12/04/2020 06:16

You need to email clickworker support when you get that UHRS account disabled message. I've had it before and they reenabled it within 24 hours. I can't remember the explanation for how it happens. Oh, but if you have any VPNs running, make sure you turn those off before you try to log in, that can do it.

I've been doing some uTest because it's the only one I ever get regular work on, but TBH it's so fiddly compared to Neevo/UHRS I'm just not feeling it most of the time.

MrsWombat · 12/04/2020 08:16

I'm naively hoping this Bane thing will be sorted on Monday once the payments team or someone senior has told them to foxtrot oscar. I don't think the readjustment will affect me too much but delaying the invoice payment will as the majority of my Appen work is for my regular project.

Suebnm · 12/04/2020 08:22

@MrsWombat

I am in the same position as you. It will be the delay that affects me. I do a lot of non- B projects. My invoice was approved and ready for payment.

Wolfff · 12/04/2020 08:44

Yes, me too.

It looks from social that some people are so pissed they are contacting the client.

My invoice is still on there so hoping it doesn't get pulled first thing Tuesday.

I think I will concentrate on Cr* and UHRS going forward. My main Appen project will end around July.

MrsWombat · 12/04/2020 08:55

I must be really thick as I have no idea who the actual client is. I'm going to have to dig around on social now.

Wolfff · 12/04/2020 09:37

I can't find the post now but the client was said to begin with G.
