Well ... it's been one hell of a month hasn't it? I hope everyone is safe and well (and not going too mad with kids and partners at home!). As always, referral links and new starters are welcome, think we're all going to need a boost financially over the next few months.

Can anyone tell me how much the holy grail of chipolatas pay ph?

rhij86 · 12/04/2020 12:02

Another one pissed off with B*ne... 5-10mins and don't rush so I prob waited until the 7 or 8min mark for mine... which means I probably now won't get paid anything at all from them?!
:(

Wolfff · 12/04/2020 12:31

@Wheelyyyy

It’s per item

Wolfff · 12/04/2020 12:31

I typically earn half what I do on Appen

justtheonethen · 12/04/2020 13:20

@Wheelyyyy I earn about the same as on appen. Depends on a few things though and definitely didn't to start with!

girlicorne · 12/04/2020 13:25

@Wolff same here unless it’s really busy!

Hi everyone, I was hoping for a bit of advice about which of the sites to go for like Appen, Utest or Clickworkers etc. Before the lockdown I was doing some office temping through an agency, but now obviously there's no work. But if I ever get back to work, the nature of temping is that they sometimes phone you in the morning and ask you to go and work somewhere on the same day, which I usually can, or sometimes they phone you at 6pm asking you to work somewhere tomorrow.

So I have hours of free time at home at the moment, but office work pays more, and if I get any in the future then it'll have to be more important and keep the online work as a side thing.

Would anyone mind telling me some more details about how the working hours work with these sites? Do you have to commit in advance to a certain number of hours? Or can you ever have a setup where you just log in whenever you want and do a quick 20 mins? Or does it not work like that? I can do a lot of hours at the moment but I wonder which ones would be compatible with my usual working situation?

Suebnm · 12/04/2020 16:58

It is quite hard to be specific. Two of my projects have very small minimums easily reached with half an hour or less a day and my other two projects I committed to twenty hours a week with one and seven hours with the other. I can choose which hours though and do it as and when I fancy.

Curdsandwhey · 12/04/2020 17:24

When you sign up for a specific project, does it tell you in advance what sort of hours will be needed for each one, before you apply for it?

Curdsandwhey · 12/04/2020 17:28

A question about something else, does anyone know if it's possible to do 20Cogs without having to use any betting sites? I'm interested in the process but don't want to be associated with any bookmaking sites.

Suebnm · 12/04/2020 17:33

Yes, when you sign up you know what you're letting yourself in for hours wise. I don't know about 20cogs.

Madre77 · 12/04/2020 17:37

Hey, have my fellow new intake for the holy grail of chipolatas taken the test yet? I am so nervous as I don't want to stuff it up.

ohmygiddiest · 12/04/2020 17:48

@Curdsandwhey I completed all 20 cogs without joining any betting sites - I couldn't as I used to be matched better. I am cashing out in 2 days when my last cog confirms - £120 for signing up to a few companies :)

This is my referal link - I think you wil get a fiver if you join using it: 20cogs.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/2224456?keyword=referred

Curdsandwhey · 12/04/2020 18:28

@ohmygiddiest Thank you very much! How long did it take you to do, and how much time did you spend on it? I've read a lot of advice online and it says to be patient, and to set up diary date alerts to cancel signups that you don't want. Would you agree with this?

ohmygiddiest · 12/04/2020 20:32

@curdsandwhey It took me about 5 weeks from sign up to19 of the cogs confirming. I would say it took me about 3 hours including keeping track in my diary, which I would strongly recommend.

Curdsandwhey · 12/04/2020 20:41

That's brilliant, well done and thank you! I shall go carefully and make a note of everything with a diary and spreadsheet.

Wheelyyyy · 12/04/2020 21:06

@Madre77 not yet. Im waiting for the test to be sent out...and nervous too
Have you had the test emailed to you yet?

Wheelyyyy · 12/04/2020 21:08

Is clickworker profitable anyone?

Madre77 · 12/04/2020 21:20

@Wheelyyyy yes I have it in my inbox. Will take the leap and get on with it.. Wish me luck :)

champagneplanet · 12/04/2020 22:01

Hi all, I have spent a lot of time reading through this and the March thread and think I am ready to take the plunge and sign up for some sites.

I am currently furloughed from work and used to do quite a bit of matched betting although it became hard work as I was gubbed from the main bookies and was having a dreadful casino run. I'm looking to keep myself occupied and make a few extra pennies. I just wanted to say hello as I may be back for advice from the experts!

BertieBotts · 12/04/2020 22:25

I find Clickworker very hit and miss. Once you get onto UHRS it's alright, the rest of it it's pennies really. Even UHRS is hit and miss for me, though. It's not my highest earner, but it trickles in. I think it's worth having active just because you can pick it up whenever you feel like it and take a break for as long as you want.

uTest there seems to be tons of work and if you're willing to put the hours in then it does seem to pay off, but sometimes if you're on an exploratory job with a narrow scope you can look for ages and not find anything, which is hugely frustrating. There is a much higher learning curve but of all of the sites, it's the one I've done best on overall. I do find that you kind of need to be sitting on your computer waiting for notifications to come up/have a dedicated email account you can turn on notifications for new emails on your phone (this is actually not a bad idea for all of the work online sites) because the best jobs get snapped up fast and unless you're in a niche group you'll often be too slow. However on less popular jobs I have got in there when I haven't seen the email straight away.

I've never had anything back from Appen and I've been signed up there since January. But other people seem to get loads of work through them.

So I don't know about Appen, but certainly for uTest, Clickworker and Neevo, you can just do 20 minutes here and there absolutely! I find for uTest I usually want to have a longer timeslot available, I try to dedicate about 30-120 minutes at a time, but UHRS (via Clickworker) can definitely be done in a 20 minute slot, it's just hugely hit or miss whether there is actually work on there.

Otterses · 13/04/2020 06:55

@Curdsandwhey that's why I'm stick mainly to Crisp, it very much works around whatever my work schedule may be, I tend to be able to cram in a couple of hours most days or do an all nighter if needed to catch up.

I balance that with market research, a few apps like voxpopme and vypr. Also - Quidco whenever I have a contract up for renewal! That's an easy £80 + for WiFi/life insurance/mobiles.

Fivver may be worth looking at if you think you have something like a service you can sell. @TheLolaMontez has an ongoing payer on there who just likes to talk to her Grin

MrsWombat · 13/04/2020 07:44

I think that is why I am liking the set up of the potato place. The work is always there if when I want it and sounds regular. My main appen project is only an hour a day and will finish shortly and all the other stuff is hit and miss. I didn't have much at all in Jan and Feb. Just praying I've passed!

DarkPassenger · 13/04/2020 08:04

Does anyone know if you can retry the C*p test?

I did it last night, received an email with the subject line 'You've joined our waiting list' so was really happy!

However the body of the mail says I scored 18/20 and the pass mark is 19 Sad so looks like I didn't make it Sad

I'm very dissapointed with the Ap invoice fiasco. Thankfully I had only done part 1 for four hours so I shouldn't lose too much but I had counted on that 20+ hours payment arriving this week. Now I've read it will be paid next month instead?
