£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

@themoneyshed I'm sticking with my opinion Grin (not forgetting @otterses, of course, who started me off on all this!)

spacepoppers · 20/01/2020 17:58

Thanks @GachaBread I managed to squeeze a curry's one in on my way home. It wasn't easy though, they were right up the back and two shop assistants were leaning up against those exact bays flirting with each other. They then decided to focus all their efforts on me and be super helpful, they would Not. Go. Away. Lol

$75 remote interview with Respondent if anyone is interested. About food and drink I think, done the screener, hope I get on it!

GachaBread · 20/01/2020 18:06

No problems @spacepoppers glad you found time to do it. Tip for you put your headphones in your phone and pretend your FaceTiming a friend who needs to see the product or whatever it is. That the way then you do not look like your up to anything lol

Lougle · 20/01/2020 18:26

I've had a really busy day with UTest. Mostly the academy challenge, but I see it as all going towards the goal!

Whatsmyname2019 · 20/01/2020 18:26

If anyone wants a free trade link dm me & i will give you it, the first one I had no one topped up a £1 on it and it was wasted. So please only if you are going to top up

TheFishingTrip2019 · 20/01/2020 19:00

Thank you to whoever used my free trade link.

I have a code for chip if anyone wants to use it? 2UW7QUL7

Basically download the app and add the code in when you sign up, you get a free £10 after you’ve made two ‘automatic’ saves :)

The app is on the App Store and it’s called ‘Chip’

lannister · 20/01/2020 19:15

@lilmishap thank you. I'm guessing once I reach £1000 I register as self employed & then I would log on to UC and record a change of circumstances to employment

PeridotPassion · 20/01/2020 19:39

My second try at the BeMyEye Pets at Home task came back accepted today so that’s a nice £20 boost. I wasn’t expecting much after reading comments but all round it really wasn’t too bad!

GachaBread · 20/01/2020 19:50

@PeridotPassion So happy to hear that someone has had it approved. Go on you!
If you can why not clean up a few more now that they are paying £25. It will definitely be worth your time especially since you find them so easy.
Well done once again👍

BertieBotts · 20/01/2020 19:53

Grr someone keeps stealing all the BeMyEye tasks near me before I can get to them :o

And I failed the Rev.com test :(

Catatemyhomework · 20/01/2020 19:55

I have a freetrade link for a free share if anyone would like it? PM me if you'd like it as the person who used my last one didn't top up and it's taken ages for me to get sent another!

user1486472583 · 20/01/2020 21:10

Does anyone know whether it's worth doing CrowdSurf? What are their rates? They seem to pay pretty promptly.
I think I have messed up on the first attempt to qualify with Appen on Forester. I'm sure that I copied everything down correctly but I started each sentence with a capital and, after I had done the test, I realised Sad. Everything else is still showing as "in progress". Just reading over some of your posts, has Appen fallen out of favour? Pretty sure it was quite popular last month.

Starlight2004 · 20/01/2020 21:20

If anyone was thinking of trying the Chip app to save money if you use my code tonight which is QKAPBV then you get £10 and I get 5.

MynameisJune · 20/01/2020 21:30

Has anyone done the Slwy test on Appen? Is it difficult?

Lougle · 20/01/2020 21:31

Appen hasn't fallen out of favour, I think, just that everything is pending.

You're allowed to have the guidelines open at the same time as doing the tests. I also used sentence case the first time, then realised.

Frenchdoors1 · 20/01/2020 21:37

@MynameisJune
I've had it in progress for a good few weeks now :/

EchoLocation · 20/01/2020 21:45

@Lougle may I ask, was the uTest Academy test cycle on ae.com? I was invited to do it this morning, spent half an hour doing everything they asked and could find absolutely nothing wrong with the website... no bugs at all. I was getting seriously frustrated by the end!
Then I was accepted onto the paid BBC test cycle and I forgave them Grin but I have no idea what I'm missing on the academy test! Confused

Flube · 20/01/2020 21:55

I have the same academy test cycle @EchoLocation. I cannot find the blimmin' bug! Confused

Looks like I'm really not cut out for any of this making dosh malarkey. Grin

EchoLocation · 20/01/2020 21:58

@Flube I am so glad it's not just me! It is really bugging me Grin

Lougle · 20/01/2020 22:10

No it wasn't. I think they split us into groups. All I can suggest is question everything. If nothing else, look at the bugs other people find, then try to recreate them. 1. It will give you experience of bug reporting. 2. You'll be able to 'confirm' their bug and 3. You'll get an idea for areas where the site is weak. You'll also get a slight boost in your rating.

In case anyone still wanted the invite. 😊

bananamuffin99 · 20/01/2020 22:26

I have already posted this on the other thread but reposting it here for the traffic :)

I have read through the course modules for crisp and I'm going to do the test tomorrow. I just felt like it was quite a lot to take in and absorb, I am so worried that I am going to totally flunk the test arghhhh!

How is the test? Is it really hard? Any tips or advice is most welcome smile

Lougle · 20/01/2020 22:29

Ooh good luck, bananamuffin. I'm very envious - I'm still waiting and probably will be until summer if reports are anything to go by.

Is there anything in the rules to say you can't have your guidelines open in another window, so you can find answers to the questions?

Flube · 20/01/2020 22:32

@EchoLocation I saw somebody had posted in the chat questioning if there was a bug as they obviously couldn't find it either. unless that was you Wink

They were told that actually there are quite a few! ShockGrin
