£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

@MoreMoneyPlease must be no Vegan jobs in your area then. I can see loads all around midlands and further afield. Maybe some will come on for you later.

lannister · 20/01/2020 13:59

Does anyone know how all these earnings affect universal credit?

MoreMoneyPlease · 20/01/2020 13:59

Does anyone know, if I've got the option (on UTest) to get paid in $ to either PayPal or Payoneer, which one works out best? Is there any difference?

@GachaBread I'll keep my eye out!

lannister · 20/01/2020 14:01

If anyone wants gener8: It’s a browser extension that I’ve been using to earn money from the ads I see online. More than 30,000 people are earning with it right now and if you sign up with my link we both get rewarded from it:

lilmishap · 20/01/2020 14:16

@lannister it only affects it if you're earning £1000+ a month. I haven't hit that yet so I don't know!

TheLolaMontez · 20/01/2020 14:20

I have still done absolutely sod all this month. Just dipping my toe back in now. Sent two messages on cloudworkers and felt like I wanted to fall asleep 😂 applied for a few appen things and had a look at clickworker.

I thought I had missed "working" but I don't think I have 😩

Had a rough night last night and very little sleep so perhaps not the best time to be trying to be enthusiastic about this... I shall keep trying.

Lougle · 20/01/2020 14:38

"@lannister it only affects it if you're earning £1000+ a month. I haven't hit that yet so I don't know!"

That can't be right, can it? I know there's a £1000 per year allowance for SE earnings, but I'm sure you can't earn £1000 per month without universal credit being affected!

TheFishingTrip2019 · 20/01/2020 14:38

I used someone else’s free share link above so if anyone is looking to join please use mine below:

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=7E6DLDHSYP&sender=ZvwE0xOI

I think it takes 7-10 days for the share to come through, you just need to sign up and deposit £1 :)

lilmishap · 20/01/2020 14:50

I was told by the helpline and my adviser if you have a job you can earn up to £1000 month before needing to declare to them.
If that's different when self employed I don't know, I do know they don't rate this sort of work very highly as it's not gainful self employment (again not entirely sure what the difference between gainful and not is)
But, I was told if your adviser wants to be an arse they can put you down as not doing enough to find work as you're spending hours doing this.
But so long as you keep it beneath a grand UC don't need you to declare it to them, Although you should let them know as soon as you pay tax on it because that shows up on their system.

I've only been doing 2/250 max (apart from appen which was one month) and adviser has basically laughed at me for worrying.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 20/01/2020 14:51

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I have used your referral code to sign up to Monese.
@anxiouswaiting I used your code for airtime rewards.

lilmishap · 20/01/2020 14:51

Oh but I have Two kids if that makes a difference, it's something about being better off in work calculations after a grand they take 60p off every pound

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 20/01/2020 14:59

@TheFishingTrip2019 I have used your code for freetrade.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 20/01/2020 15:03

@IrritableBitchSyndrome thank you!

I've made the princely sum of £4.38 on SportStack from my free shares!

If you too want to be rolling in it then try this 😂

I'm starting to think we need to band together to create our own app, and get venture capitalists to give us money to promote it. Cut out the middle men :)

RedPanda25 · 20/01/2020 15:18

This is such a great thread, thank you for everyone's help! Just looking into Take Note for transcribing. It says that you need to be able to type at 65wpm which I can do but with a few errors. Does anyone have any experience of using Take Note? Don't know if I should bother applying or whether I should practice some more so I don't have as many errors?

SimplyBlue · 20/01/2020 15:29

You probably know this already @RedPanda25 but there are websites you can do free typing tests on to practice.

This is one I've used:
typing.academy/typing-tutor/typing-test

I have no experience of Take Note, but might apply for it. I can type faster than 65wpm but with about 2% errors. I might practice slowing down a little to focus on zero errors at 65wpm and then apply. I'm assuming that they test you as part of the application process? I bet I mess it up, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

MoreMoneyPlease · 20/01/2020 15:34

@IrritableBitchSyndrome I've thought that before. I guess that's what The Money Shed website does but I don't think they've got an app. Do companies pay you to be on your site @themoneyshed?

I really don't want to have a 'proper' job anymore which is why I like this so much. I just need to get my earnings up (quite a lot) more before I can have in my notice! It would be even better if there was an app where we could register once and then companies beg us to do work for them!

RedPanda25 · 20/01/2020 15:35

Thanks Simply I get similar to you but definitely could do with some practice to get my errors down. Also do better on copying rather than audio so would have to practice that too! May be worth a shot to apply though?

MoreMoneyPlease · 20/01/2020 15:43

I've got one free share and couple more queued up now and it's still giving me codes so here's another one:
freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=52GAPKG9V7&sender=maHlWzM6 You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

TheMamaYo · 20/01/2020 15:45

In case there’s still someone struggling to get a free share invite - feel free to pm me for one if you’re sure you’re going to top it up. 😊

themoneyshed · 20/01/2020 15:54

@MoreMoneyPlease
@IrritableBitchSyndrome

Sorry, Am probably being dim here but are you asking if companies pay to be on TMS.. Yes they do (as marked by 'collaborative post at the bottom) However If there is a decent affiliate system attached I will just cover the company/website/how it works etc and then put the affiliate links into the content and earn from it that way.

Since I quit my job back in January 2018, The Money Shed is my only source of income (well that and Matched Betting lol)

0htooooodles · 20/01/2020 15:57

Another free trade if anyone wants to join 😀

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=V1NLRUB5RN&sender=eNJGRjKa You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

MoreMoneyPlease · 20/01/2020 16:09

@themoneyshed You're my financial hero 😊

themoneyshed · 20/01/2020 16:13

@MoreMoneyPlease

Lordy lord no!! I'm just here to show EVERYONE that you can earn a decent amount of money online and it's not all 50p online surveys!!

MoreMoneyPlease · 20/01/2020 17:36

Well, I've done well so far today on a couple of intellizoom and prolific things and I've got my first free bet on a match tonight. It's only £7 profit (was a £10 free bet) but if it works ok I'll be very happy because then I'll know I understand the basics of MB!
