£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

How are you getting the test academy cycles on utest? I'm guessing these are unpaid but help boost your profiles?

@flube @Lougle @EchoLocation

(Sorry for spam-"@"ing! I just keep reading about test academy stuff but don't seem to see it).

lannister · 20/01/2020 23:36

Anyone got a freeshare referral link? I keep missing them

Catatemyhomework · 20/01/2020 23:58

@lannister, here you go:
You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s this app you can use to invest for free. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free share - might be Apple or Tesla! freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=L6DEC5SQWT&sender=JfpzJuY5

lannister · 21/01/2020 05:22

@Catatemyhomework i think i was too late that ticket has already been used

otterses · 21/01/2020 06:31

Sigh ... it'll be a no earning day for me. I forgot my first day back would be late night and I won't be home till 9 Sad

MynameisJune The test you asked about isn't really a test. They just ask for some information about yourself. It takes five minutes.

Appen is great, as long as you're on a project. They do seem to advertise a lot of jobs that don't have work. I've been on two for months that haven't had a sausage.

margaritasbythesea · 21/01/2020 06:55

Hope your day passes quickly Otterses Flowers

The latest project on uTest is still open if you have a computer with windows 10. It's testing a new voice app similar to Alexa and Siri. They are paying for referrals to the project but I can't be arsed as I have to tell them names you can use my referral link and I might get a brownie point or something! www.utest.com/ref595931

You'll get paid approx £6 to add the Windows insider program to your computer. (this lets you test this app on a future version of windows) You upload a few screenshots and fill out a questionnaire to prove this.

Then this is week 1 and you'll get paid around £12 to install this windows app on your computer and speak around 30 sentences to test the app. They say it will take around 30 mins but I reckon maybe an hour. This project is on for 6 weeks, so hopefully £12 a week?

Worth checking out.

Flube · 21/01/2020 08:28

@SimplyBlue Have you done any of the lessons/quizzes in the Utest academy? At the bottom of lesson 5, instead of the quiz button, there's a sign up to a test button.

It's unpaid, but it's practice.

rhij86 · 21/01/2020 08:41

I don't know what's wrong with me but I find uTest really confusing Confused I can never seem to tell what I've applied for, or if I get accepted for them?

I can also never seem to find the projects the rest of you are talking about.

I'm clearly missing something very obvious.

MoreMoneyPlease · 21/01/2020 08:54

@rhij86 I'm exactly the same! I've clicked on a few emails from them, gone to the site then had no idea if I'm in the task or not? Can't find where I'm supposed to download anything or follow instructions. Very confusing!

rhij86 · 21/01/2020 09:09

@MoreMoneyPlease not good obviously but glad I'm not the only one!!

EchoLocation · 21/01/2020 09:18

@lougle thanks for the advice re uTest. The bugs are set to 'hidden' on this test so no bugs to even look at/confirm! I have done absolutely everything I can think of on the website, bar actually ordering something! And I thought I'd be good at this Grin

@flube good to hear it's not just me - I'm going to have a look at the chat now!

@rhij86 @MoreMoneyPlease I agree, it is not the easiest to navigate. If you're on the Home page of your account, the things you've received emails about should be under 'Invitations' and the ones you've been accepted on are under 'Projects'. Sorry if you'd already got that far!

BertieBotts · 21/01/2020 09:48

I really struggle with tests like that due to my ADHD - I can't just read a page of information and then regurgitate it, because it will immediately be gone. Once I've used the information in context, I'm fine though. I keep failing the uTest academy modules and having to redo them, argh. They don't seem to mind you taking them as many times as you need though.

Have BOOKED my childcare info appointment finally!

duffed · 21/01/2020 09:49

Well hello hello everyone,

I was around in the early threads but dropped off a bit- lovely to see these threads so busy! I’m still obsessed with trying this to make extra money whilst being a bit trapped in a SAHM situation.

I’m still running the Etsy I started, which is going really well just selling art supplies - started by selling old art materials from the spare room and then has progressed into a nice little business.

I was doing well at crisp till the baby got mobile and got kicked out for not doing enough time (waaah) have just done the rest again (19) and hope to get back on it.

Just started looking at matched betting - made my first £12 or so. Bit surprised that you need quite a big chunk of money in the betting exchange side to do it well!

Yugi · 21/01/2020 09:55

Haven't been paid by Crisp yet :( Anyone had a bank transfer payment yet?

BertieBotts · 21/01/2020 09:59

YY I am so confused as to what I've applied for on uTest - I think the green tick shows you. But then how do you know if you've been accepted, rejected or they just haven't chosen people yet?

MrsWombat · 21/01/2020 10:17

I'm confused by uTest also. Just worked out that I was looking in the wrong place for something. I'll be doing the academy stuff pronto!

ZetaPuppis · 21/01/2020 10:24

@Yugi I had my payment go in yesterday.

2under2survivor · 21/01/2020 10:35

@yugi I submitted my invoice on Friday afternoon and the bank transfer payment came through yesterday evening

lilmishap · 21/01/2020 10:41

When appen do pay me how long will it take to get it into bank from payoneer?

rhij86 · 21/01/2020 10:52

@lilmishap

Most months for me it's been a couple of hours. December it was closer to 24hours but that was an exception.

Hope your payment gets sorted soon

Yugi · 21/01/2020 10:55

Thanks, I will contact them if it doesn't arrive today

MrsWombat · 21/01/2020 11:03

Argh. This uTest project is not going how I am expecting it to go, and I'm wondering if it's all an elaborate hoax and are mutterings are going to be on a tv show rather than an app! Confused My neighbours are probably thinking I've gone mad shouting OK...... at my laptop over and over.

Lougle · 21/01/2020 11:08

I know how you feel, MrsWombat. I'll write a post about UTest in a few minutes which might help people.
