£10 a day thread, January part two

otterses · 13/01/2020 08:35

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

Isoftstone....I forgot about that one. My next task is a spreadsheet of all the things I've signed up for 😂

themoneyshed · 18/01/2020 16:27

@Sallycinnamum

The work itself is VERY easy - you’ll be fine!

Catatemyhomework · 18/01/2020 17:05

@Sallycinnamum, I've been reading through the isoftstone web evaluation project guidelines on and off since Christmas. There is a practice site that you use which has 314 hits. Then there are two tests. I am still doing the practice site and it is quite tricky. You have to score an "off by RTA" of less than 0.4 on one of teh tests. I am averaging a bit above this on the practice site so I need to get better! The trouble is I can only ever manage about 10 at a time and then I have to leave it.

Does anyone know how long from submitting an invoice to receiving payment by BACS takes for C risp?

Yugi · 18/01/2020 17:31

My first win from matched betting today, £15 up. Two more bets on football matches tomorrow.
I did have a nightmare with Coral. My first account wouldn’t let me bet so they closed it and I opened a new one. Then when I logged in to check my results today, they had closed the new one with the bets and reopened the original one. I was panicking but the lovely customer services lady sorted it and my bets were still there.

DollyDiddles · 18/01/2020 18:07

Hi everyone

I was on these threads last year under a different username.

Getting back into some serious money-making again for 2020!

I have used one of the FreeTrade links above to get a free share. Deposited my £1.00 and my free share is in the queue and I will find out what it is in 7-10 days. Hope it is half decent! Some of the amounts shared on TheMoneyShed are pitiful really!

Here is my first ever referral link to share so I hope someone will use it so we can both get a free share. Don't forget to deposit £1.00 when you register, otherwise we won't get our free shares. The day after registration you too should get your own refer a friend link to share.

You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

DollyDiddles · 18/01/2020 18:09

Oh, just wanted to ask...what is this 'Rev' thing that everyone is applying for? Not heard of that before.

I have just registered for the LionBridge Social Media Evaluator Work today so fingers crossed about that. Thank you to whoever shared the details.

ZetaPuppis · 18/01/2020 18:16

@DollyDiddles Rev is transcribing work. A few of us have applied but not all of us have heard back.
There’s a test that you need to take which most people seem to fail.
Here’s a link if you want to have a go

DollyDiddles · 18/01/2020 18:18

@ZetaPuppis Thanks for that! Will take a look! Smile

Tohaveandtohold · 18/01/2020 18:39

For those that’ve been accepted to the Lionbridge social media evaluator job, have you started it and how long did it take for them to get back to you after passing the test?

MoreMoneyPlease · 18/01/2020 19:28

Another Freetrade code if anyone still wants one.

MoreMoneyPlease · 18/01/2020 19:42

@themoneyshed Sorry if this is really obvious...I've just signed up to Bet365. Is the free bet you've mentioned on the Liverpool vs Man U game in addition to the normal trigger bet I'd do?

MynameisJune · 18/01/2020 19:43

@Tohaveandtohold it was about 2 days from registering with Lionbridge before they emailed me about the SME. Haven't started yet though, they asked for more information on Friday. I had to confirm my iOS device was less than 3 years old, they didn't ask about operating system version but wanted make/model.

toastytea · 18/01/2020 20:14

Ok I also need a new laptop! Didn't realise couldn't have one more than 3 years old. Anyone got any recommendations? Don't want to spend much! This is for isoftstone thing.

ZetaPuppis · 18/01/2020 20:28

@toastytea I just bought this one. It’s a chrome book so check that’s ok (I’m a bit of a dunce knowing the ins and outs of these things)
It’s working really well for me and the work I’ve been doing.

BlackCatFan · 18/01/2020 20:43

@feistymama21 last time I requested a BACS payment it came through in 3 working days

toastytea · 18/01/2020 20:49

@ZetaPuppis thanks, will take a look!

themoneyshed · 18/01/2020 21:05

@MoreMoneyPlease

If you've JUST signed up to Bet365 you may not be offered it.
If you go into messages on there does it mention an offer for tomorrow at all?

SNISR · 18/01/2020 21:06

@margaritas

Lougle · 18/01/2020 21:07

I've taken the Rev test but I'm not holding my breath!

SNISR · 18/01/2020 21:11

@margaritasbythesea I teach on palfish. I started in September 2019. You have good months and slow months. This month is extremely quiet due to Chinese New Year holidays.

I believe it can be very frustrating with constantly marketing yourself to get a regular base of students.

If anyone would like to apply and would like me to mentor them through the recruitment process, please send me a PM and I can send you a referral link and go through it all with you.

Please ignore last post. I accidentally pressed post before writing anything.

ZetaPuppis · 18/01/2020 21:11

@Lougle it will be interesting to see if you get a response! I haven’t had one yet and I applied a week ago. They claim to get in touch within a couple of days.

Lougle · 18/01/2020 21:21

It will be interesting, but I'm questioning every comma now!

margaritasbythesea · 18/01/2020 21:23

Thanks Lougle. That's really good of you. I'm going to sit down and have a proper look at it on Monday.

Lougle · 18/01/2020 21:28

There is no time limit and you're allowed to use the guidelines during the test. It's just a case of working your way through it. However, I'm not sure that I did it correctly.
