£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

@SimplyBlue thank you very much for your link. I have made a deposit so hopefully we should both get a free share soon Thanks

Lougle · 17/01/2020 22:08

Ooh @SpinneyHill that's interesting. I'm a bit of a geek, so it might be good for me.

Catatemyhomework · 17/01/2020 22:10

I've only gone and passed B**r. I can't believe it! I've barely heard anything from Appen since I signed up with them and now I have actually passed a test. Woo hoo!! I've been asked to create a figure eight account, what ever that is, never been asked to to do that before! Grin

Lougle · 17/01/2020 22:15

Hooray @Catatemyhomework Grin

Catatemyhomework · 17/01/2020 22:19

@Lougle, thanks I'm really excited, apart from the small fact that there is no work on there at the moment Hmm, BUT this is the best thing I have ever heard from them since signing up. I will create this account and see what happens. At least I have actually had the opportunity to take the test. I don't often get that with Appen projects so it is a start! Smile

BoltMosaic · 17/01/2020 22:31

I queried the lack of work on B**r with support and got told that they were expecting work to commence by the end of January and to look out for a further email soon.

Though I didn’t realise when I signed up that there was a requirement of 20h per week which I can’t commit to so that’s a bit rubbish as I am approaching a year on N**e so it would have been good to have replacement for when it ends .

Buster27 · 17/01/2020 23:10

@Redda really pleased to hear your good news Smile

Passed Ban and Mead! Surprised I passed Ban as didn't feel confident during the test, will need to give the guidelines a good read if work appears. Mead was straightforward enough though.

Casino offers have been kind to me the last couple of days thankfully, so I might actually have something to show for Jan! Not on track for my aim of £20 a day but will hopefully finish the month with some decent earnings and make up the shortfall in other months!

$125 for 90min Remote chat with Parents & Students aged 14-18 UK Respondent

I've done a few of these and they are very good. But I don't have a 14-18 year old student anymore.

Patapouf · 18/01/2020 07:25

I've passed banner, got very excited and then realised theres no work available Grin

will they contact us when there is? does this mean there will be a minimum of 20 hours work available when it gets going or will it be first come first served?

otterses · 18/01/2020 10:21

Is anyone having issues logging into Chip this morning? I want to do a manual save but it won't open the app properly Angry just keeps saying 'try again'.

Qualified for Meadow too! Just waiting for work now...

Question about MB - I've done my trigger bet, have £9.75 on Coral but can't seem to withdraw it. Is it normal not to be able to withdraw until you've used your free bets?

Also, I've found a match today to place my free bets on, but Betfair is saying the liability is £37 - have I got to find £37 from somewhere to deposit?!

spacepoppers · 18/01/2020 10:52

@Boobahs yes you need enough money in the exchange to cover your liability, this will be recoverable from either coral or the exchange depending on who wins. I would be cautious immediately withdrawing anything from your coral account before doing your free bets, apart from anything else this may flag you up to them as potentially matched betting and your account being gubbed

Boobahs · 18/01/2020 10:55

@spacepoppers Thank you, I've left it in as I couldn't see how to withdraw it anyway!

I've just moved some money around to put on Betfair and placed the lay bets, I just hope I've done it right otherwise I'm in trouble! Confused

spacepoppers · 18/01/2020 12:44

@Boobahs yes it's a little daunting at first to say the least! I'm only a few small steps ahead of you, it's certainly a learning curve it I'm enjoying trying to get my head around it all. My DH thinks I've lost the plot signing up to all these bookmakers Grin

MoreMoneyPlease · 18/01/2020 13:39

I've done a couple more trigger bets today and I'm still convinced I'm doing it wrong!!

BertieBotts · 18/01/2020 13:46

I might have a go at utest, is there a referral programme before I sign up?

margaritasbythesea · 18/01/2020 13:54

I was just wondering if anyone has stuck with Cambly and Palfish, and how it's worked out over time?

Lougle · 18/01/2020 14:18

@BertieBotts not for the UK right now.

Boobahs · 18/01/2020 14:33

@spacehoppers Well it appears that I did it correctly, £18 up! Just tried to withdraw the £37 though and it's saying it will take 2-5 working days Confused

user000000000001 · 18/01/2020 14:40

I don’t know if this has already been mentioned but Monzo have work from home roles boards.greenhouse.io/monzo/jobs/1989347

MrsWombat · 18/01/2020 14:55

Banner data is coming the end of January apparently. As usual, I won't hold my breath!

My uTest referral link is www.utest.com/ref595931 I don't think I get anything though other than brownie points?! I've just done a questionnaire as I think they are after barclays and revolut card holders to test something so fingers crossed for that one too as I have both.

themoneyshed · 18/01/2020 15:50

Sallycinnamum · 18/01/2020 15:58

Has anyone done the test for the isoftstone web evaluater role?

I've been invited to take it but lots of people on Reddit are saying it's really difficult to pass.

themoneyshed · 18/01/2020 16:01

@Sallycinnamum

It's been a while since I last did that test (did it for Leapforce, now appen) but as long as you take it slow, use the guidelines you should be fine ;)

Sallycinnamum · 18/01/2020 16:12

@themoneyshed I'll give it a go then but it does seem a bit daunting. I'm a bit concerned if the test is this hard what's the work going to be like!
