I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.

Deposited £10 only to find out the offer had finished. Managed to get 10 free spins credited after going on live chat. Played through them and won about 70p so was mega pissed off.

However, I decided...sod it! and decided to play through my own money and give it up as a bad job. I only went and won £40!!! after playing £4 of my own money!!!! Hurray! Fortune favours the brave!

So, I quickly withdrew my winnings! Will be in profit by £33.56 after fees etc come off.

ChakiraChakra, yes I am using Betfair. You are right I haven't lost £10 have I but because the free bets haven't come through I thought I had! I told you I was very new to this!

I am hoping the free bets come through but there is different information on different sites. Team Profit seem to say the free bets will be there 10 hours after first bet is placed (they are not) but I read somewhere else (can't remember where) that it can take 36 hours so I am hoping that is right.

I'd give it 24 hours after the bet has resolved... but if you like you can go onto livechat and ask them. If there's a reason you didn't quality for it they will say, and if it should be but isn't they can sort it out for you.

Ok. Started Dec 2018 and have made £400 profit until yesterday as was just dabbling. I literally cannot believe it- free spins last night (no wagering)- on the 2nd to last spin I won £12829! Still in shock....Withdrew the lot immediately!

I was spinning on turbo as I got bored and suddenly the screen went black and it had transitioned to the Age of Gods Jackpot- you have to pick 3 matching coins. You can win either the Ultimate Power Jackpot ( 6 figures), Super Power, Extra Power (less than £5000), or Power ( £100 to £400). I didn’t know what I was doing but picked the Super Power Jackpot. Phew!

misstiggiwinkle I don't do price boosts much, but as far as I understand it, it's about finding a close match, which the price boost then means that profit is guaranteed either way. So say a match was a horse at 1.5 to back and 1.7 to lay. If the price boost means that the back odds are now 2, it should produce a small profit.

I think. Play around with the calculator.

misstiggiwinkle price boosts work when you can find an existing close match. So eg William Hill gives three price boosts per day on horses.
Say WH back odds are 3.4 and lay odds are 3.5 then you wouldn't make any money on this. But then if you apply the price boost the back odds might go to 3.7, so higher than lay odds so you make a tiny profit.
I have done a couple of these but its a bit nerve wracking as the odds can change very quickly so by the time you come to place your lay bet the odds have changed. Probably easier on football matches where the odds seem to stay stable for longer.

I find that price boosts are often stake restricted and most the time I only get between 50p-£2 max so I only tend to look at price boosts if I've got no other offers to look at as it's a lot of effort to find you'll only make 50p! If you have the time though the they would add up.

Sky super enhanced football price boosts are definitely worth it! I make between £3-£7 p/w on these. The max. stake is usually £10. I also get the odd offer emailed to me. Last week it was double your odds on 888Sport so I backed Chelsea to win at 10.0 instead of the 5.0 offered, layed as usual at 5.5 then made reasonable profit regardless of outcome. I am also starting to dabble with underlaying, when you don't win or lose at the Exchange but if the back bet wins, you are quids in. It's risk free but less likely to make a profit IYSWIM.

I have two questions, I wondered if you can help me with?

1. Is there a way of logging refund offers on the OddsMokey profit tracker? I use the Risk Free calculater to work out the underlay, but I can' see a 'log it' button like there is on the other calculator?

1. I've been offered a price boost from ComeOn. When I put it in to the calculator it shows a profit because of the difference in odds at Betfair exchange, is that right? Do price boosts always make a profit?
