I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.
Help!

Does anyone know if BOB bingo gave the last refund today or will give one tomorrow?
I know it finishes on the 20th but not sure if that means I can play tonight and get refund tomorrow.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/02/2019 19:32

You can play tonight, refund tm.

Gammeldragz · 20/02/2019 20:01

PeterGriffin that's my understanding though I haven't bothered with it yet. Coral's free bets for lengths offer is good if you can get a close match on the favourite. I was gubbed today when I'd just started to get into that one!

Gammeldragz · 20/02/2019 20:04

Everyone asking about casino offers, start with the ones on Oddsmonkey daily offer calendar as they are usually all low risk. Sky Casino have a daily £10 for 5 spins, Betfair usually have £10 for 10. Those sort are the lowest risk.
I do all the William Hill ones despite the x35 wagering but I break through it a few times a month usually and have made a lot over time. You will fail 80-90% of the time though and usually lose a bit wagering your own cash.

DonkeyScramble · 20/02/2019 22:25

Just tipped over £1k profit. Started 6 weeks ago.

Golden0ldie · 20/02/2019 22:28

Oh my goodness Gammel, I read what you had written earlier, had a look at OM daily offers and with heart in mouth did the Betfair Arcade offer to wager £10 on a specific game and get 10 free spins. My profit was (drumroll) £23.86!!!!! This could become addictive ... the last day of a three day offer but I shall keep an eye on those offers now. Thanks for the pointer!

Question ... I set my spin value to just 20p, would it have been better to do 50p/£1 spins and just have less spins or are lower priced spins the right approach?

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2019 06:29

Well done Donkey. That’s brilliant.

If you're new to casino do the lowest stake you can with your own cash. Warning - you can lose money doing casino so make sure you're comfortable with that. You could easily have lost your £10, and got nothing from the free spins.

thefavourite · 21/02/2019 09:06

Yes, I'd read the OM guides to low risk casino if you have OM membership. The beat strategy, they say, is min. value/max. lines. I'm not great with casino/slots as I get really sucked in and get real highs and lows so steer clear or have to really keep myself in check.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2019 19:02

Is anyone doing lock in accumulators?

ChakiraChakra · 22/02/2019 00:35

Am mightily hacked off with lottoland. They've enforced a T (or possibly a C) that categorically is not in their Ts&Cs for the specific offer I did not is it in their general ones. It's such a clear open and shut case and a tiny amount but they've escalated to their complaints dept and there "might be a delay in response as they are currently dealing with a high number of escalations" Hmm

I'd avoid their email offers if I were you Wink

BlockRockinBeats · 22/02/2019 10:46

@ChakiraChakra Oh no! What have they done? Made you pay a subscription?

I too am avoiding the lotto companies as I struggled to get one to respond and close my account just in time before the deadline kicked in.

Trading212 have paid out but they are not responding to my emails requesting my account be closed. My balance is showing 10p. Anyone got a phone number for them? I don't want to incur inactivity charges due to my 10p, which I cannot withdraw.

ChakiraChakra · 22/02/2019 18:31

BlockRockinBeats

It was a deposit £5 get 20 free spins over. I checked Ts&Cs and no wagering requirement. It won't let me withdraw the £5, just the 73p I won, and the live chat person said I had to wager the £5. Checked the Ts&Cs again... no, I have to deposit £5, no mention of wagering at all. Pointed this out and got told to wait 5 days for a Nugent of the team to investigate and get back to me due to a high number of escalations. Am pretty mightily hacked off to be fair and wasn't the meekest politest I could have been (nor did I swear or was rude I will add) so maybe being nice would have got me a better outcome. I know it's only £5 but that's not the point!

Re trading212 did u email them to cancel? Have you checked your junk folder, I found my reply in there. You've got something like 6 months before the no activity charge comes in. X

titchy · 22/02/2019 18:58

Chakira - it's good practice to wager your deposits, even if the ts and cs don't explicitly say you have to. You won't get reload offers otherwise.

In this case I suspect they will eventually let you withdraw your deposit but they'll also close your account.

Whereas putting 10 x 50p stakes on roulette would mean you probably keep both your £5 and the account.

That said I don't think lottoland is particularly profitable, but be aware for other accounts.

Fairyliz · 22/02/2019 20:03

Hi all can I join in as I've recently started match betting.
I joined profit accumulator and I think the guides are good and the calculators work everything out for you. However one note of warning, they give you a link for all of the sportsbook and casino sign ups. I had done loads of them when I realised I could have gone through quidco and got some cashback!
Missed out on at least £100 there so I am gutted.

Makemineadoublemeasure · 22/02/2019 21:04

Phew!! That was one hell of a read!!!

Helloooo you lovely people! I’ve came across this thread and super intrigued. I immediately went through the videos and followed the instructions this afternoon, I put down a bet of £70 but I did it on a draw footy match, I put both bets on Coral and Betfair as draw.. I panicked thinking I did it wrong (think I did?) and withdrew it! Doh!! I was trying to work out how putting a draw on both sites would work. Pretty sure I did that wrong! I should of waited really and let myself get my head around it but I’m an impatient buggar Grin Anywho I’m gonna go over everything again this weekend. Thinking now I ballsed up the first one I need to make 2 new accounts and start all over again!

Any tips for starting out pls let me know. The videos are pretty straight forward (even tho I ballsed up!) should of waited till the kids wasn’t there - heads mashed!!

Hopefully I can start again and do it properly! X

titchy · 22/02/2019 21:11

Assuming you layed at Betfair (pink boxes) you had it right makemine!

DonkeyScramble · 22/02/2019 21:11

A bet of £70 doesn't sound like a welcome offer on Coral. You might want to check the requirements of the offer as there's no benefit to overbetting on a trigger bet.

Makemineadoublemeasure · 22/02/2019 21:20

Well I did the original first bet it tells you to do with your fiver on Coral and Betfair. Then I got my free bets. I used 4 free bets on the coral and put £70 down on Betfair. But I did it on a draw. I’m sure I followed everything correct apart from the draw bit. In saying that I might actually be well off the mark and done it completely wrong! Xx

Makemineadoublemeasure · 22/02/2019 21:22

@titchy I did! I did the pink box on Betfair! I convinced myself I did it wrong and panicked! Xx

DonkeyScramble · 22/02/2019 21:24

Ah ok, that's different. It sounded like you bet £70 on Coral .

Makemineadoublemeasure · 22/02/2019 21:26

Sorry no! My bad I need to explain better! Maybe I did do it correct and bottled it! Never mind I will re start it. It was the draw that confused me! X

Coppermine · 22/02/2019 21:43

The pink box on Betfair is a lay bet, so if you pick the pink box for draw, you are not betting on a draw, you are betting NOT to draw. So if one team wins, it's not a draw so your lay bet at Betfair wins.

Makemineadoublemeasure · 22/02/2019 22:18

@coppermine Ahhhh!!! Yes that’s where I was getting mixed up. Forgetting the fact the lay bet was against it! Damnit!

So just to confirm

I bet my free bets on coral
I bet the lay on Betfair which worked out just short of £70

Had the team WON I would of won on Betfair, had the team DRAWN I would of won on the free bets on coral?

Is that correct? Xx

thefavourite · 23/02/2019 19:48

19 bets on this weekend, my head is spinning! Some trigger, some free bets, some price boosts and a mug bet!
